you know when you look at someone and it’s like okay so we’re definitely both comparably fucked in this specific way but at least i come by it a little more honestly like me and one of my housemates both have catastrophic sleep schedules and i bring the majority of that on myself sure but at least i like!! fucking turn the lights off and close the curtains when i’m pretending i’m trying to sleep this guy’s like ah yes bedtime i will drift off to the blistering clinical glare of my enormous pc the screen of which i have not turned off, curtains open to all the charming view of the streetlights and the blaring sign of the self storage unit across the road, bedroom door which is directly next to my head wide open, and to the dulcet tones of a horror podcast played at antisocial volume like at least i’m curled up in the dark and the quiet while i’m glued to my phone and mainlining pepsi max at 4am
