For me, there are only ever two options when deciding what to ship: the basic mlm-ship everyone in the fandom has agreed with, and the rare wlw ship I will construct entire worlds and back stories for. The latter is for when I just wanna be able to enter a space with a lot of fan art and fanfiction and just vibe with the ideas everyone already has, and the former is when I see two underdeveloped characters and I decide they are MINE now. Like yes, I will make doodles and think about my favorite mlm ships, but with my wlw ships I will spend months in obsession creating elaborate AUs and documents analyzing their characterization. This is the only way for me.
