i was tagged by @katsigian for this uquiz and everyone got so absolutely decimated i simply had to post pass along! (tried my best to italicize applicable/bold super applicable sparingly but everyone just got their ass beat so hard)

LOVE AS A FORCE OF NATURE

James silently moves the teacup near her hand away from the morning theatrics and returns to his task. He picks up the strands of her half-done hair he had dropped, combing them straight with his fingers, and takes the pin out of his mouth to hold precariously in two fingers.

“It is amazing what men will and won’t say to your face,” he agrees. Elizabeth shares a look of solidarity with him in the mirror of the vanity. “Go on, Elizabeth. These demands must lead somewhere?”

“Oh, yes. It will take us all morning at this rate; Hatherton always blathers on for pages.”

James twists the rest of her hair and pins it up with practiced aplomb. She turns without prompting, a rehearsed response, neither breaking from the letter nor pulling her attention from it.
