One of the funniest (most emotionally devastating) parts of my version of lotr with my oc is that they save Boromir but in such a specific way that Faramir and Denethor still believe he’s dead. Everyone else gets to go “oh yay Boromir’s back!” and even Faramir does eventually get the news, but Denethor is so adamant that Boromir is dead that Gandalf and Pippin start to freak out a bit like “well maybe something happened in the last four days that we don’t know about sure would suck if he died twice the poor bastard”

#they’re like this is so awkward #he wanted to come to minas tirith with us so bad but gandalf said he had to stay with aragorn #also not relevant to farmir and denethor at this time because they don’t know it #but my oc basically saves boromir so hard he becomes immortal #something between tuor and tom bombadil in terms of unique phenomena #it’s very related to my oc and idk how much I’ll post about them because that feels wildly personal and intimate #but also I feel like once I start reading the actual text I won’t shut up so who knows #also I’m watching the films for about the sixth time this year I think #hope to start reading the silm on lotr day but I still need to get a copy #carandil
