 a hastily put together ship, slurring my seasick speech/

water keeps splashing in but stronger still are the cracks, what comes in, slowly drips back out. the type of back and forth commotion that painters stroke their brushes frantically on the canvas about.

they swore it would only take minutes but i proved them wrong when i held my head underwater for days before finding that loophole that would allow me to learn how to breathe again.

why do we hesitate to announce that we come alive in other people? doing without feeling. like strings are the ultimate enemy, insisting they are better unattached indefinitely.

do we no longer prospectively promise to offer up the better parts of our pieces in order to become augmented and full?

suspend your disbelief temporarily when you’re hanging by just one thread and everyone before this immediate moment took on the shape of razor sharp scissors.

odds are greater you’ll twist your ankle than this leaving you less than you used to be.
