The fact that Cooper refers to Wilzig as the “daddy” of CX404/Dogmeat genuinely says so much about him as a person.

He could have said “Let’s go find your owner” or “Let’s go find your person” but no- daddy is the descriptor he chose in order to describe what Wilzig was to CX404/Dogmeat.

This implies that Cooper Howard, stone cold badass & ruthless cannibalistic bounty hunter, is the type of man who has or would refer to himself as a dog dad / refer to his dog as his fur baby. I don’t think he would do so in front of another person nowadays, but back before the bombs dropped? He just might have been the type of guy to get a bumper sticker, mug, etc. with “my child has four legs and fur” prior to Janey being born.
