A review of “Journey Into Mystery,” the penultimate Loki Season One episode on Disney+, coming up just as soon as I paper cut a giant cloud to death…
Journey Into Mystery was the title of the first Marvel comic to feature either Thor or Loki. It began as an anthology series featuring monsters and aliens, but Jack Kirby, Stan Lee, and Larry Lieber were so smitten with their adaptation of the characters of Norse myth that the Asgardians gradually took over the whole book, which was renamed after its hammer-wielding hero(*).
(*) The early Journey Into Mystery stories treated Thor’s alter ego, disabled Dr. Donald Blake, as the “real” character, while Thor was just someone Blake could magically transform into, while retaining his memories and personality. It wasn’t even clear whether Asgard itself was meant to exist at first, until Loki turned up on Earth in an early issue, caused trouble, and Blake/Thor somehow knew exactly how to get to Asgard to drop him off. Soon, the lines between Thor and Blake began to blur, and eventually Thor became the real guy, and Blake a fiction invented by Odin to humble his arrogant son. It’s a mark of just how instantly charismatic Loki was that the entire title quickly steered towards him and the other gods.
But once upon a time, anything was possible in Journey Into Mystery, which makes it an apt moniker for an absolutely wonderful episode of Loki where the same holds true. Our title characters are trapped in the Void, a place at the end of time where the TVA’s victims are banished to be devoured by a cloud monster named Alioth. And mostly they are surrounded by the wreckage of many dead timelines. Classic Loki insists that his group’s only goal is survival, and any kind of planning and scheming is doomed to kill the Loki who tries. But this ruined, hopeless world instead feels bursting with imagination and possibility.
There are the many Loki variants we see, with President Loki, among others, joining Classic, Kid, Boastful, and Alligator Loki. There are the metric ton of Easter Eggs just waiting to be screencapped by Marvel obsessives (I discuss a few of them down below), but which still suggest a much larger and weirder MCU even if you don’t immediately scream out “Is that… THROG?!?!?” at the appropriate moment. And all of that stuff is tons of fun, to be sure. But what makes this episode — and, increasingly, this series — feel so special is the way that it explores the untapped potential of Loki himself, in his many, many variations.
This is an episode that owes more than a small stylistic and thematic debt to Lost. It’s not just that Alioth looks and sounds so much like the Smoke Monster(*), that it makes a shared Wizard of Oz reference to “the man behind the curtain” (also the title of one of the very best Lost episodes), or even that the core group of Lokis are hiding in a bunker accessible via a hatch and a ladder that’s filled with recreational equipment (in this case, bowling alley lanes). It’s also that Loki, Sylvie, their counterparts, and Mobius have all been transported to a strange place that has disturbing echoes from their own lives, that operates according to strange new rules they have to learn while fleeing danger, and their presence there allows them to reflect on the many mistakes of their past and consider whether they want to, or can, transcend them.
(*) Yes, Alioth technically predates Smokey by a decade (see the notes below for more), but his look has been tweaked a bit here to seem more like smoke than a cloud, and the sounds he makes when he roars sound a lot like Smokey’s telltale taxi cab meter clicks. Given the other Lost hat tips in the episode, I have to believe Alioth was chosen specifically to evoke Smokey.
Classic Loki is aptly named. He wears the Sixties Jack Kirby costume, and he is a far more powerful magician than either Sylvie or our Loki have allowed themselves to be. He calls our Loki’s knives worthless compared to his sorcery, which feels like the show acknowledging that the movies depowered Loki a fair amount to make him seem cooler. But if Classic Loki can conjure up illusions bigger and more potent than his younger peers, he is a fundamentally weak and defeated man, convinced, like the others, that the only way to win the game into which he was born is not to play. “We cannot change,” he insists. “We’re broken. Every version of ourselves. Forever.” It is not only his sentiment — Kid Loki adds that any Loki who tries to improve inevitably winds up in the Void for their troubles — but it seems to have weighed on him longer and harder than most.
But Classic Loki takes inspiration from Loki and Sylvie to stand and fight rather than turn and run, magicking up a vision of their homeland to distract Alioth at a crucial moment in Sylvie’s plan, and getting eaten for his trouble. He was wrong: Lokis can change. (Though Kid Loki might once again argue that Classic Loki’s death is more evidence that the universe has no interest in any of them doing so.) And both Loki and Sylvie have been changing throughout their time together. Like most Lokis, they seem cursed to a life of loneliness. Sylvie learned as a child that a higher power believed she should not exist, and has spent a lifetime hiding out in places where any friends she might make will soon die in an apocalypse. Our Loki’s past isn’t quite so stark, but the knowledge that his birth father abandoned him, while his adoptive father never much liked him, have left permanent scars that govern a lot of his behavior. The defining element of Classic Loki’s backstory is that he spent a long time alone on a planet, and only got busted by the TVA when he attempted to reconnect with his brother and anyone else he once knew. This is a hard existence, for all of them. And while it does not forgive them their many sins(*), it helps contextualize them, and give them the knowledge to try to be better versions of themselves.
(*) Loki at one point even acknowledges that, for him, it’s probably only been a few days since he led an alien invasion of New York that left many dead, though due to TVA shenanigans, far more time may have passed.
For that matter, Mobius is not the stainless hero he once thought of himself as. While he and Sylvie are tooling around the Void in a pizza delivery car (because of course they are), he admits that he committed a lot of sins by believing that the ends justified the means, and was wrong. He doesn’t know who he is before the TVA stole and factory rebooted him, but he knows that he wants something better for himself and the universe, and takes the stolen TemPad to open up a portal to his own workplace in hopes of tearing down the TVA once and for all. Before he goes, though, he and Loki share a hug that feels a lot more poignant than it should, given that these characters have only spent parts of four episodes of TV together. It’s a testament to Hiddleston, Wilson, Waldron, and company (Tom Kauffman wrote this week’s script) that their friendship felt so alive and important in such a short amount of time.
The same can be said for Loki and Sylvie’s relationship, however we’re choosing to define it. Though they briefly cuddle together under a blanket that Loki conjures, they move no closer to romance than they were already. If anything, Mobius’ accusations of narcissism in last week’s episode seem to have made both of them pull back a bit from where they seemed to be heading back on Lamentis. But the connection between them is real, whatever exactly it is. And their ability to take down Alioth — to tap into the magic that Classic Loki always had, and to fulfill Loki’s belief that “I think we’re stronger than we realize” — by working together is inspiring and joyful. Without all this nuanced and engaging character work, Loki would still be an entertaining ride, but it’s the marriage of wild ideas with the human element that’s made it so great.
Of course, now comes the hard part. Endings have rarely been an MCU strength, give or take something like the climax of Endgame, and the finales of the two previous Disney+ shows were easily their weakest episodes. The strange, glorious, beautiful machine that Waldron and Herron have built doesn’t seem like it’s heading for another generic hero/villain slugfest, but then, neither did WandaVision before we got exactly that. This one feels different so far, though. The command of the story, the characters, and the tone are incredibly strong right now. There is a mystery to be solved about who is in the big castle beyond the Void (another Loki makes the most narrative and thematic sense to me, but we’ll see), and a lot to be resolved about what happens to the TVA and our heroes. And maybe there’s some heavy lifting that has to be done in service to the upcoming Dr. Strange or Ant-Man films.
It’s complicated, but on a show that has handled complexity well. Though even if the finale winds up keeping things simpler, that might work. As Loki notes while discussing his initial plan to take down Alioth, “Just because it’s not complicated doesn’t mean it’s bad.” Though as Kid Loki retorts, “It also doesn’t mean it’s good.”
Please be good, Loki finale. Everything up to this point deserves that.
Some other thoughts:
* Most of this week’s most interesting material happens in the Void. But the scenes back at the TVA clarify a few things. First, Ravonna is not the mastermind of all this, and she was very much suckered in by the Time-Keeper robots. But unlike Mobius or Hunter B-15, she’s so conditioned to the mission that even knowing it’s a lie hasn’t really swayed her from her mission. She has Miss Minutes (who herself is much craftier this week) looking into files about the creation of the TVA, but for the most part comes across as someone very happy with a status quo where she gets to be special and pass judgment on the rest of the multiverse.
* Alioth first appeared in 1993’s Avengers: The Terminatrix Objective, a miniseries (written by Mobius inspiration Mark Gruenwald, and with some extremely kewl Nineties art full of shoulder pads, studded collars, and the like) involving Ravonna, Kang, and the off-brand versions of Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor (aka U.S. Agent, War Machine, and Thunderstrike, the latter of whom has yet to appear in the MCU). It’s a sequel to a Nineties crossover event called Citizen Kang. And no, I still don’t buy that Kang will be the one pulling the strings here, if only because it’s really bad storytelling for the big bad of the season to have never appeared or even been mentioned prior to the finale.
* Rather than try to identify every Easter egg visible in the Void’s terrain, I’ll instead highlight three of the most interesting. Right before the Lokis arrive at the hatch, we see a helicopter with Thanos’ name on it. This is a hat tip to an infamous — and often memed — out-of-continuity story where Thanos flies this chopper while trying to steal the Cosmic Cube (aka the Tesseract) from Hellcat. (A little kid gets his hands on it instead and, of course, uses the Cube to conjure up free ice cream.) James Gunn has been agitating for years for the Thanos Copter to be in the MCU. He finally got his wish.
* The other funny one: When the camera pans down the tunnel into Kid Loki’s headquarters, we see Mjolnir buried in the ground, and right below it is a jar containing a very annoyed frog in a Thor costume. This is either Thor himself — whom Loki cursed into amphibianhood in a memorable Walt Simonson storyline — or another character named Simon Walterston (note the backwards tribute to Walt) who later assumed the tiny mantle.
* Also, in one scene you can spot Yellowjacket’s helmet littering the landscape. This might support the theory that the TVA, the Void, etc., all exist in the Quantum Realm, since that’s where the MCU version of Yellowjacket probably went when his suit shorted out and he was crushed to subatomic size. Or it might be more trolling of the fanbase from the company that had WandaVision fans convinced that Mephisto, the X-Men, and/or Reed Richards would be appearing by the season finale.
* Honestly, I would have watched an entire episode that was just Loki, Mobius, and the others arguing about whether Alligator Loki was actually a Loki, or just a gator who ended up with the crown, presumably after eating a real Loki. The suggestion that the gator might be lying — and that this actually supports, rather than undermines, the case for him being a Loki — was just delightful. And hey, if Throg exists in the MCU now, why not Alligator Loki?
* Finally, the MCU films in general are not exactly known for their visual flair, though a few directors like Taika Waititi and Ryan Coogler have been able to craft distinctive images within the franchise’s usual template. Loki, though, is so often wonderful to look at, and particularly when our heroes are stuck in strange environments like Lamentis or the Void. Director Kate Herron and the VFX team work very well together to create dynamic and weird imagery like Sylvie running from Alioth, or the chaotic Loki battle in the bowling alley. Between this show and WandaVision, it appears the Disney+ corner of the MCU has a bit more room to expand its palette. (Falcon and the Winter Soldier, much less so.)

The Earth Shaker
Part 1 of ?
Word Count: 1885
Loki x Reader
Just a 2012 style avengers fanfic that is Loki x Reader. Sometime you just need cute fluff that is absolutely nothing more than self indulgence.
It had been a normal day, you going to work at the little cafe, serving people coffee and sandwiches, just living your normal life. Then things had shown up on the news, an attack in New York City. Aliens coming down from the sky and wreaking havoc on the city, and then you saw him and your heart stopped. The customers were all distracted so you called out on your break then and there, pulling out your phone and looking up the fight in NYC, you kept looking for any glimpse of the man with a red cape flying around with a hammer in hand.
"Thor," it comes out as a breathless whisper.
You don't care that you're in the middle of a shift, you shout to your coworkers that you have to leave and walk out the door. You needed to get to NYC, you needed to find Thor, you couldn't get there fast enough. Surely the fight would have ended by the time you even make it to the outside of the city, but hopefully you could make it on time to find Thor. Thor was the only chance you had for getting your old life back and you had missed him the last time he'd been anywhere close by.
As you get in your car and take off driving at a reckless pace you let your mind fill with memories. You'd grown up with Thor in Asgard, your name was actually Faylwyn even if here in Midgard you went by y/n. You'd run and played and trained alongside him and Sif and the Warriors Three. Then once you were a bit older you had gotten in trouble, gotten on Odin's bad side, and he had banished you to Midgard. Thor had to have not known that you were alive, else he would have come looking for you.
But it isn't Thor you care about here. You glance at the bracelet around your wrist, beads strung on a strand of black hair, intertwined with a strand of your own hair. It was all you had left of your life on Asgard, you'd been friends with Thor sure, but he was just Loki's dumb older brother. You and Loki had been inseparable, hell you'd even given each other love locks, thats what this bracelet was, you'd had to cut it out of your hair, but you couldn't just give it up. You'd put some beads on it to hide what it truly was but it was your most prized possession.
The lovelocks had been hidden, hidden under layers of your hair so that no one knew besides the two of you. You and Loki had had wonderful plans, plans to run away together, to explore the universe together, to get married once you were old enough and to spend the eons with one another. No one had known this, no one but the two of you, Odin was unlikely to allow it, Frigga had to listen to her husband, and Thor had a big mouth. No one had known the full extent of the love both of you shared for the other, but now you had a chance, a chance to find him again after 700 years of being in Midgard alone.
You had never stopped loving him in all that time, you had longed to be by his side once again, you could only imagine the pain he had felt with whatever story Odin had decided to tell of your disappearance. Now you had that chance to find him again and you weren't going to miss it for the second time. Your one and only fear was that, he might not love you anymore, after all this time that he had moved on while you hadn't.
You drive all day, the fight is long over when you reach the city, it's the middle of the night and the streets are packed with people and rubble along with alien bodies. There wasn't anyway you could continue to drive, so you got out of your car, leaving it running in your hurry, you don't care you don't need it. You look up on your phone directions to the Stark Tower, it was your best chance of finding Thor, and you begin running. You aren't fast like Captain America but you have stamina, able to run for hours and hours, going for miles and days on end.
No, you weren't Asgardian royalty, but here at least much like Thor was considered the god of thunder in ancient mythology, you were considered the goddess of earth. No, not like Earth the planet, but earth, the dirt, minerals, the ground beneath your very feet. Thor was able to fly, like the lightning and thunder, rushing through the air. You were able to run, moving with ease, being one with the ground beneath you, never faltering calm and steady.
You round a corner and the tower becomes visible, tall and graceful, pointing into the sky with lights illuminating its massive form. It's when you get close that you notice the many agents and people swarming the scene, there was no way you'd be able to get inside unnoticed. And none of these people knew who you were so they'd never let you in, you sigh, time to do something stupid, or at the very least a plan which Thor could have come up with. You slowed your pace, finding your way into an alley, then to a side door. "Here goes nothing," you say softly to yourself as you pry the locked door open and step inside.
Instantly alarms begin wailing and SHIELD agents begin to swarm towards your position. That was fine, you didn't want to hurt any of them but causing a scene would get the attention you needed. You needed to pose yourself as a big enough threat to need the attention of the heroes who had fought the aliens, any less and they'd ignore you, thinking you're some crazy from off the street. The agents surround you and you don't make a move, letting them go first. You don't want to hurt them, so you need to judge their skill first, you'd been fighting for nearly a thousand years, you'd easily be able to take them down.
The first to approach you with their gun, telling you to surrender since you weren't supposed to be here, you punch in the nose and knock them out. Seeing the ease with which you did that, leads to them calling for backup. Perfect. From there you focus, feeling a heavy sensation in your stomach as you do, slowly the ground opens up enough to sink their feet in and trap them, and one small, earthquake later their guns are on the floor.
You approach the one who had called for backup, and look them over briefly before speaking. "I need to talk to Thor, can you make that happen?"
They seem confused with your sudden loss of aggression, but nod, placing a finger to their ear as they reached out through their coms, "Director Fury, the infiltrator on the ground level wishes to speak with Thor. They have disarmed us and and have us all trapped my our feet in the floor but they do not seem to pose a threat as long as they see Thor."
You nod once and confirm, "I just wish to speak with him, I'm an old friend." With that you step back and place the door back in place, as you step outside once again, "I'll be in the park. Tell him I'm waiting."
With that you leave, and close the door behind you. Only releasing the agents from the ground once you've made it safely away. It was short and fortunately went better than planned. Now all you had to do was wait, and wait you did. It did not matter to you that it took hours for anything to happen. It didn't mater that you'd slept in the grass that night, and that the sun was rising when someone approached you. You had a chance to see your Loki again and that was all you needed to be happy.
You're awoken by someone speaking softly, "sir, I have eyes on the target." It's a woman's voice, you don't move, and continue to lay there, eyes closed.
It's when you hear the slightest sound of the grass moving that you finally do so as well, sitting up and moving to face her. It's the redheaded woman who was fighting alongside Thor the day previous. You offer a slight smile and a, "hello."
When you move Natasha removers her hand from the earpiece she was wearing, and asks, "you're the one that broke in last night asking for Thor?" It's posed as a question but you feel it's more of a statement.
"That is me, I'd just like to speak with him, I'm an old friend. My name is y/n l/n, at least that is the one you will find me under in all government records. Look me up, I don't care, just let me see Thor before he returns to Asgard," you come to a standing position and hold out your hand, "tell him Faylwyn wishes to see him, he'll know what you mean." With that you turn to walk away.
"Sorry, no can do, you're coming with me, you broke into a secure facility and took out multiple agents. You don't get to walk off right like that," she says and reaches for her hip.
You turn back to face her as she speaks, glancing at her hand before meeting her eyes again, "I'm willing to come peacefully. You don't have to tase me," you hold out your empty hands to her, "see, you can even handcuff me, just so I can speak with Thor."
Natasha looks at you, you're being genuine on this one thing, though she still doesn't trust you. She had seen the door you'd pried open, the imprints of your fingers in the metal around the latch, there was no way handcuffs would hold you if you wanted to leave. "No need, come on," she nods her head towards the tower and keeps her hand on the taser as she leads the way. You were a threat if you wanted to be, and obviously you were smart. You hadn't caused more damage that a broken door and a broken nose, and from what she had heard and seen on the cameras you could have done a lot more had you wished to do so.
You follow Natasha to the tower and in the doors, around some corners up an elevator and through the hallways to a more private and secure room.
"Wait here," she says as she opens the door for you, letting you in before closing it behind you. Once again, you wait. This is still your best chance, you had no other way to contact Thor, thanks to Odin's being pissed at you even after 700 years. The All-Father could All-ways hold a grudge.
Eventually the door handle jiggles before opening, and you look up, meeting the eyes of the tall blond, the Asgardian armor covering his body and the red cape over his shoulders. He looks at you in shock and says, "Faylwyn?"

What, You Didn’t Miss me?
for venusbarnes 5k challenge!! i'm gonna be doing a bunch of these but i just decided i wanted to write something different than what i usually lean towards for this :)
i also wrote a loki imagine called idoru! very angsty but cute :)
#6: “what, you didn’t miss me? i’m hurt.”
reader is thor's rival/fling thing. you've fought & battled each other hundreds of times, but nothing can compare to the energy you two have. but you've gone a while without seeing him, and he's honestly relieved he doesn't have to put up with it anymore - until he sees you again. *reader's bi cuz she's that bitch, and kind of like valkyrie*
warning: toxic! (but it's really not that deep, considering they do b fighting a lot), fight scene!
also: i would listen to THIS playlist while reading this!!! i was listening while writing, made it so enjoyable.
You were what they called a "wild child." Graceless, rebellious, brave to the point of stupidity. You were full of rage, a warmonger with no remorse. In your kingdom you were admired for your bravery and physical ability and looked down upon for your "unwomanly" tendencies and your recklessness. You weren't alone in this though - you had a group of women with you who operated as a team, all of them ostracized because of their resistance to submitting. Together, you were unstoppable.
There was also Thor. He admired you for your brutal honesty, your unabashedly flirty demeanor, and for your fighting abilities. To him, you were like the lady version of him, only not so lady like, and much less cautious, if that was even possible. You were chaotic and wild in combat, and he knew this first-hand. Thor had been at the mercy of your rage many times, and you had seen the force of Mjolnir much too close for comfort. Sometimes you fought for a reason, other times you fought just because you felt like it. For as long as you could remember, Thor had always been your otherworldly enemy... rival was a better word for it.
But perhaps the best part of your rivalry, besides the satisfaction of beating down the god of Thunder on the times you did win your battles (because, really, you did beat him sometimes, and it felt good), was the flirtatious nature that lay within it. You couldn't doubt that sparks flew when you and the god were together, even when fighting you found yourselves closer to each other than necessary. And outside of a fight, your titillating banter was enough to make heads turn-- tongues soaked with whiskey, hot breath against the other's neck, narrowed eyes matched with rosy lipped smirks that said: "you really wanna do this right now?", sarcastic and degrading humor. It was all a part of the program. Thor rotated women on a weekly basis, as did you with the women and men back on your kingdom, but the relationship he had with you was different.
No one challenged him like you did, no one was snarky like you were - women joked about Thor submitting to them, but none of them had the power to actually manifest that, other than yourself. He liked that he wasn't exactly intimidated by you, but that you made your worth and your ability rather clear. He knew you weren't "easy" in a fight, and you wouldn't back down. For a while, you steered clear of Thor while you got your own life together. And for that while, it was quiet... too quiet. You were glad to be given a reason to stir things up again. And boy, was Thor in for a surprise.
You smeared black liner on your waterline (stolen from a Walgreens on Midgard - you liked their makeup more, it was low quality and gave you a cheap, uncouth look that you cherished - not like makeup on your planet, which made you look exactly like what you were... a warrior goddess), and looked in the mirror. Well, what remained of the mirror after you had smashed it. You held a piece of broken glass in your hands and leaned in towards it, your reflection wonky and distorted. You were sitting in your dim-lit, unfurnished (purposefully) bedroom with your friends - the warrior women who you considered your sisters.
"Thor's in for a lovely surprise today," you sang in monotone, applying more dark pencil liner below your waterline. You quickly rubbed a dark purple lip on and puckered up, raising your eyebrows at yourself in the mirror.
Mira shook her head playfully and sighed,
"Honestly, YN, I've known you for years and it still strikes me how crazy you are."
"Thor's a player, anyway. We know how he is with women... do you really need to fight him?" another one of your sisters, Amina questioned.
You turned around, huffing defiantly and gripping your sword at your side,
"Look, it isn't about that. I don't care if Thor wants to bang a fucking dwarf, and with his streak, he probably has. It's about respect. I don't go around flirting with Loki. How dare he invade our honor and try to pick up one of my sisters! It's nothing personal, Lydia, honestly. I think Odinson just forgotten the boundaries."
Lydia, one of your sisters, the "victim" of Thor's heavy flirting, who had resisted because there was an unspoken but obviously clear rule that Thor was not to ever try to play with one of your sisters, for the purpose of respect. You didn't want him to see your sisters as easy targets or see them as the various women he went through every day of the week. You had all agreed on such a rule, so it wasn't like you were just bossing everyone around. And as for your flirtationship with Thor, that was different. Thor knew better - he knew you could handle him just as well as he could handle you. And for the most part, you were in control.
Lydia shrugged, continuing her crotchet pattern - she helped make outfits for all of you. You all vowed to be self sufficient. She didn't seem to mind the situation much,
"Listen. I say go for it. It's been a while. Shake things up again."
You smiled, glad someone understood you,
"Thank you, Lydia. Right then, I'm off. See you after I ravage him."

Back at Asgard, Thor was living his best life. He was breezing through the days, lounging on his throne with multiple women around him daily, feeding on grapes they hung above his lips, getting drunk every night, all while performing his kingly duties. He had let go of the tension you caused him- while he enjoyed his encounters with you, it gave him a lot of unconscious stress to be constantly thinking of when you might next attack. But it had been a while since you last arrived to stress him out, and so he relaxed, and he forgot about you, just a bit.
But that was before you decided to pop back in again, stomping into the golden room where you saw Thor sitting with one leg up on the throne, women chattering to him and leaning on him, fawning over him. The sight would've made you sick if you weren't already so preoccupied with your rage. You paused in front of the stairway to the throne.
"ODINSON!!!" you let out a roar that let him know you were here, because he was so distracted by the presence of the women. He almost jumped, and his heart sank when he saw you - weeks of tension returned to his body.
"Oh shit," he said under his breath, and you smirked, folding your arms and cocking your head at him.
"What, you didn't miss me? I'm hurt," you gave him a faux pout and then you were back to teasing, your eyes squinted and your lips turned up into a devious smile.
Thor groaned loudly, banging his fists on the arms of his throne. The women surrounding him began to scatter.
"Why are you here!" he roared.
"No," you raised your voice at him, "the question is, why are you trying to seduce my sisters? Hm?"
Thor's face went taut and you could see the guilt all over his face. He understood your agreement, and he knew there would be consequences for breaking this agreement. He just didn't think about it until now. You folded his arms, leaning forward,
"You thought I wouldn't hear about that, did you?"
"YN, I-" he began stuttering, and nothing coming out of his mouth was making any sense.
"Yeah, go head and shut the fuck up for me," you cut him off, your tone final - you'd had enough of his bullshit. Thor's lips shut closed immediately. "Gods, you asshole. We had an agreement! Did we not?"
Thor found this the perfect time to take a dig at you, a knowing smirk playing at his lips as he straightened up in the throne,
"Sounds awful personal, YN, I mean, it really seems like you took this to heart." You folded your arms annoyedly, already anticipating what he was insinuating. He licked his lips and pulled his lips underneath his teeth. "Jealous much? Are you jealous, YN?"
You didn't answer, just gave him that death stare that told him you weren't here to chit chat right now. He sighed deeply and held his arm out, reaching his hand out into the air,
"Yup, I got it."
Mjolnir came flashing by and into his hands, and immediately you lunged forth, jumping all the way to the top of the stairs and in front of him on the throne, the two of you clashing. You held your spear out, but Thor blocked it with his hand and knocked it down with his hammer. You scoffed, looking down at your damaged spear on the ground and laughing,
"That the best you got, king?"
That lit a fire in Thor like no other - not only was it a major turn on for you to call him king, even if it was within an act of defiance, but the mockery was enough to make him black out. He swung his hammer at you and you ducked, bouncing back up just in time to kick him in the face and send him flying backwards, knocking his hammer out of his hand and on the floor away from him.
"Oh, I do love this!" Loki quipped excitedly as he walked past, and you greeted him joyously - where you and Thor were rivals, you and Loki were twin flames. Thor found your relationship annoying. Every once in a while you'd come to Asgard just to hang out with Loki, scrapbooking and being unusually domestic. He almost wished for a fight when he saw you and Loki hanging out and wreaking havoc.
"Hey, Loki!" you turned to wave at him, and then got right back to business, pouncing forward like a cat and landing on top of Thor - specifically on top of his lap. You chuckled viciously and held his chin in your hand, lifting it up and wrapping your hand gently around his throat. Neither of you could ignore the erotic nature of your violence. You licked your upper lip like a hungry wolf. "Where's your hammer now, casanova?"
Thor reached out and Mjolnir was right at his service again.
"Right here, darling."
A spark of lightning flew out and struck you, sending you flying and laying feet ahead of him on your back, coughing from the impact of the fall. Now Thor stood above you, his height both menacing and alluring, towering over you. Cockily, he blew the tip of his hammer.
"Anything else?"
"Yeah," you mumbled, a bit dazed from your fall. "Stop trying to slobber on my sisters!" you kicked your legs up directly at his crotch, and he stumbled back, falling onto the floor in a sitting position, his knees bent towards himself.
You grinned victoriously, and picked yourself right up, walking towards him and assuming the same position you had been in before, lowering yourself slowly down onto his lap, one leg on either side of him, the same narrowed, cheeky look in your eyes as before. Thor gazed up at you, in a daze only you could pull out of him, raised eyebrows and glazed over amazement in his eyes and all.
"Tap out," you demanded, folding your arms over your chest in such a way that diverted Thor's attention to your body.
"You know I can't pay attention when you're on top of me like that," Thor sighed, his voice low and husky. You fought a grin off your face, but couldn't hide it completely, your voice steady and methodical,
"I know."
Thor tapped the ground beside him to insinuate he was done, forfeiting - it happened often that you or Thor tapped out, considering your fights weren't all that serious and were sort of like a game you liked to play. You made a move to get off of him, but he pulled you down by your waist, making you stay.
"No, stay here," he whined, and you laughed, throwing your head back.
"You'll stop hitting on my sisters, then?" you inquired, raising a suspicious brow.
"Not if it means this is what will happen," Thor shrugged. "Really though, you never answered my question." You raised your brow, waiting. "Are you jealous?"
You snorted, though you didn't feel the need to lie,
"Perhaps a little bit of me wants you all to myself," you batted your lashes at him and ran your hand along his chest. He gripped your waist harder, a determined look settling on his face,
"I as well."
You shook your head playfully.
"Oh, Odinson." You leaned forward to place your lips upon his, and he craned his head up so your lips could meet. But you pulled away, just enough so your lips were barely brushing against each others, then gently pushed his chest down, making him lower his head onto the floor again, your lips still hovering above his. You granted him a teasing smile, a knowing look in your eyes as you stared him down. "One day," you said, and vanished, teleporting away from him and back to your own kingdom.
One day!

Goodnight and Goodbye
Pairing - Thor x Mermaid!Reader
Summary - Thor Request: The reader is a mermaid, which Thor meets while traveling the other realms. Reader somehow lures him in and he falls in love almost instantly with the mythical mermaid.
Word Count - 5,264
Warnings - None!
When searching across the galaxy for Infinity Stones, Thor had not expected this much pain.
First, Jane had broken up with him. According to her, his lack of presence in her life had taken a toll on their relationship, and they had broken it off. It was mutual of course.
Mostly.
Added to that, the rest of the realms were in utter chaos. Disorder and disarray was present everywhere, yet his father Odin seemed to not care very much about it which caused Thor to have to do most of the heavy lifting and defend the planets that were unable to protect themselves from invaders.
Exhausting.
After all of that, his mission had still been fruitless. He had found nothing of importance and was beginning to lose hope. That was until he caught a break on his last planet. He had paid for it with a large gash that ran from one shoulder to his hip, but he got the information he needed and escaped as soon as possible to this new planet of Anahita.
It was a small planet, not known for much other than its rich resources. The strange thing about it was that it was a planet occupied mostly of water, so Thor shouldn’t have been surprised when he landed in some as he crashed into the planet.
His chest was still aching as he spun around, trying to untangle himself from the various underwater plants that he had landed in, but he found they had a tight grip. He fought for a few moments before reaching out his fingers, calling his hammer to help him as the urge to breathe became stronger. Before it could though, he felt a small hand grasp his wrist and pull. Unfortunately, the hammer that found its way to his palm was stronger and ended up dragging the both of you up and out of the water.
Thor heard a sharp gasp as the hand holding onto him tightened its grip while you both flew through the air and onto a piece of dry land. A trail sand followed behind the two of you before you both landed with a thump. “What in the name of Amphitrite -”
At the quiet, very feminine, voice, Thor turned his head. Laying there next to him was, in fact, the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Thor had traveled to many lands and seen many people in his lifetime, but none had ever matched what he saw before him. Your hair flowed over your shoulders in gentle waves, your skin glossy and wet from the water the two of you had tumbled out of, your eyes enchanting and as deep as the water you had just left. Your eyes were filled with questions, as if you had never seen anything like him before. He watched, unable to speak as your delicate hand reached out to touch his chest, sending a sharp pain through his already pounding heart.
“What happened to you?” You gasped, staring at the injury that Thor had already forgotten in the presence of this ethereal woman. Your voice was soft and had a musical quality to it that had Thor’s tense muscles relaxing.
He looked down at the gash, noticing that it was now in fact turning a little black around the edges before focusing on you again, giving you a big grin. “Got in a bit of a fight. I won though.”
His words were rewarded with a smile, and however brief it was, Thor felt pride surge in his chest at the fact that he was the cause of it. “I’m sure it was very impressive, as is the poison now making its way through your body.”
“Poison you say?” Thor repeated, looking down at his injury again. “Seems about right.” As he looked, something else caught his eye, and he focused in on the large tail, swaying back and forth beside him. It was a beautiful mixture of blue and green, starting out gray at the bottom and slowly darkening until it reached your waist. “You’re a -” He didn’t know what to call you. He had never seen anything like it before, an alluring woman attached to the bottom of a fish. The poison was also hindering his ability to think as well, and his head fell back onto the sand, pounding hard. “Wow, this works fast,” he said with a chuckle.
Your soft smile calmed his soreness for a brief moment as your gentle touch brushed against his skin. “It does indeed. Thankfully, you happen to be in the presence of an accomplished herbalist.”
“I am a lucky man indeed,” Thor replied, his own smile pained. “May I ask the name of my savior?”
“Y/N,” You replied.
“Y/N,” he let the name roll off his lips. It was perfect. “Beautiful,” he managed to add before his world became dark.
ϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟ
When Thor came to, the first thing he noticed was the numbness in his fingertips and toes. That feeling crept up his arms and legs, only to stop at his chest. It was still stinging somewhat, but he could feel his powers trying to heal him along with some other cold substance on his chest. When he was able to open his eyes, he found himself staring up at a rock ceiling. It took just a moment for his memories to come back to him, and he looked back down at the injury on his chest to find himself covered with a large leaf. He made a move to take it off, but a tinkling voice stopped him.
“I wouldn’t do that yet,” his eyes shot over to you. You were as gorgeous as he remembered except now, instead of the large tail, you were clothed in a flowy, loose white dress, feet bare as you padded towards him. “Your wounds still need time, although they are recovering at a remarkable rate.”
His eyebrows knit together as you came closer, his mind wondering how much the poison had affected his memory. “But, you were a -”
“Mermaid?” You gave him a low laugh as you sat down beside him. “I am, but I can choose to walk for short periods of time if I so desire.” You tucked your long legs to the side and placed your small hand inside of his own. “May I?” You asked, holding up his arm.
“Far be it from me to refuse help from a beautiful creature such as yourself.” Thor replied.
He watched as a faint blush graced your cheeks, but you remained focused on his arm. Thor shuddered as your fingers traveled, each touch leaving a trail of heat in its wake. “It seems my medical attention is getting a little help.” You placed his arm back on the sand and turned your attention to him once more. “Who are you? And how did you find yourself in Anahita?”
“I am Thor, son of Odin, and I’ve been searching the galaxy for Infinity Stones.” Thor told her, seeing no reason to lie.
“Odin? Of Asgard? You are his son?” You asked him, you eyes widening somewhat.
“Indeed,” Thor took your hand back into his and brought it to his lips, brushing your skin with the gentlest of touches. “And I am in your debt.”
You shook your head back and forth, your lips turning up in a smile. “Has anyone ever told you that you’re quite the charmer, son of Odin?”
“None so beautiful as you.” Thor replied with a squeeze of your hand.
You stared into his eyes for a few moments, and Thor felt the whole world fade away. How could he focus on anything when you were looking at him like that? Not even the pain in his chest could compete with the adrenaline he felt when looking into your eyes. “Well, Thor, I must inform you I do not know of these Infinity Stones that you speak of.”
Thor let out a disappointed sigh. “Yes, that seems to be the general response I’ve been getting.”
There was silence between the two of you, and during that, Thor realized the fact that the Infinity Stones were not here meant that he had no reason to stay. There was nothing keeping him on this planet and with this amazing woman. The thought that he would have to leave you before he had even truly gotten to know you caused a whole different ache in his chest.
“That doesn’t mean they’re not here.” You spoke up.
He squeezed your hand, encouraging you to speak.
“My family . . . much like yours, are the rulers of this planet, but I’m the youngest daughter,” You placed your other hand on top of his, applying the softest pressure. “They do not tell me everything. They could very well be hidden here somewhere, and I would have no idea. There are so many vast places I’ve yet to explore . . .”
“They are protective of you.” He said, and at the sight of you, he could see why. If he ever had a child as beautiful as you, he would be terrified at the terrors that might befall her if someone ever got his hands on her.
“Some would say too much so.” You answered, nodding your head. “There are so many things here, Thor. It would be impossible for me to know. What do you need these stones for?”
“I’ve been having visions of the downfall of Asgard. Those stones have something to do with it.” Thor answered you.
His words shocked you, and you squeezed his hand tighter. “The downfall of Asgard? That would cause chaos across the nine realms.” You said, your eyes drifting away from him in thought.
“Exactly, so you see how important it is that I find them.” He said.
“Then I must insist you stay.” When you looked at him again, there was a bit of a goofy smile on his face at your words that caused your cheeks to heat up once more. “I mean, you must have time to search the planet . . . Not to mention you’re not well enough to travel.” You explained, your words coming out rushed.
“You seem to know more about my injuries than I do, as well as your planet, so I will yield to your judgement.” Thor replied.
You started to say something, but a loud horn cut the two of you off. Your head turned to the sea at the front of the cave, and when you looked back at Thor, there was a panicked look to your features. “I must go, and you must stay here.”
Thor watched as you stripped out of your dress in front of him without a second thought. Had you been nude when he had seen you earlier? He had been so enraptured by your face, he hadn’t even noticed. Your moves were graceful as you ran to the water and dove into it with one fluid motion. Thor scrambled over to the water, ignoring how much it hurt, and holding the leaf to his chest. First he saw your tail, splashing above the sea, and then you were facing him again, face and hair once again shining with water. “You are indeed the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.” Thor said in total awe.
You reached out and grabbed his hands as if to get his attention, little did you know that you already had every speck of it. “Thor, my people are afraid of strangers. I’m afraid if anyone else sees you, you’ll be met with not only suspicion, but hostility. No one travels to this part of the land except me. You’ll be safe here.”
“You’ll be back?” Thor questioned, his thumb brushing across the wet skin of your knuckles.
You nodded, “after nightfall, but right now there’s a dinner I must attend. You should try and get more rest. It will help with your wound. When I get back, we can search for your stones, and maybe . . . you can tell me more about Asgard?”
He kissed your hand once more. “I will tell you anything you wish to know.”
Your answering smile dazzled him all over again.
ϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟ
Thor knew he should leave. It had been over two weeks now, and much like every other planet he had been to, there was no sign of the stones anywhere. There was nothing keeping him here. Nothing except Y/N.
At first, he would admit, he had been enraptured by your beauty. Everything about your appearance was alluring and enchanting from the waves of your hair to your tail that shimmered in the water. The more you helped him though, the more he was finding that he was amazed by.
Not only were you beautiful, but you were so intelligent. You took him to many different places on your planet, that much like Loki, you had found through portals. At every single one of them, you were able to name every single plant that the two of you might come across and its properties. You healed his poisoned chest where not so much as a scratch remained and showed him how. You told him all about your planet and how it was known for its plants having healing properties.
“If Anahita is filled with such resources, why then do you not share them with the realms?” Thor asked you one day. He was sitting at the edge of an embankment while you floated in front of him, your tail splashing in and out of the water every few moments.
It took you a moment to respond, your fingers absentmindedly making circles in the water as you tried to find the right words. “We did once.” Thor watched in awe as figures formed in the water between them, puppets of Y/N’s fingers. “It was many, many years ago. Way before I was even a thought in my parents’ heads. We shared with various planets our healing practices, we taught them, gave them supplies . . .” The figures acted out what you said, passing baskets to different types of creatures and ships. “But then . . . they became unsatisfied.” At your words, the figures began attacking each other. Thor saw various species attacking your people with spears and swords, capturing your people in boxes while they screamed, stealing things from their planet. “We’re very strong, Thor, we can hypnotize men with a song, manipulate the tides, send people to their knees with a scream, and live as long as centuries without aging a day. Other species wanted to mate with us to see what could become of it, whether we wanted that or not.”
It was one of the worst stories that Thor had ever heard, but he was not surprised. In his lifetime, he had discovered that while most people considered it a human trait, fear of something more powerful than yourself went across all realms. “I am sorry that your people have had to endure that.” Thor told you, his hand reaching across the water for yours.
You took it without hesitation. “I am too, but it was so long ago. It’s a distant memory for most, but for some . . . That’s why I was worried about someone finding you.” Your fingers showed an army of Merpeople, fighting back invaders violently with multiple weapons. “We fought them, but the fear still remains. You’re the first visitor on this island in decades. The ones that have been here before . . .” Thor’s grip on your hand tightened as he watched various creatures get murdered before his eyes. “I didn’t want that to happen to you. You seemed . . . good.” You told him with a tender smile.
“And your opinion now?” He asked, eager for your answer.
Your fingers entwined with his, and you pulled yourself out of the water, bare and wet as your tail turned back into feet. Thor held his cape out for you which you draped around your shoulders. Your nudity never seemed to bother you, but Thor always liked to give you the option in case you wanted some modesty. As you settled beside him, your free hand cupped his cheek. “It is the same, and I will be sorry to see you go.” You told him, biting down on your supple bottom lip.
Thor hadn’t wanted to talk about this. He hoped that if they avoided the subject long enough, it would never come to pass, but here they were. For so long he had been focused on doing things for other people, but being here with you? He was able to push the obligation he had to Asgard to the back of his mind, and as selfish as that might be, it felt good. A large part of that was thanks to you. With you, he hadn’t been, Thor, Son of Odin and Prince of Asgard. He had just been Thor, a visitor on your planet. He wanted to take that Thor with him, but without you? He didn’t think it was possible. Unless . . . “Is it too much to hope that you would consider coming with me?”
His words had startled you, that was for sure. You eyes widened in disbelief and your hand dropped from his cheek. Immediately he missed the warmth of it. “Thor . . . what you’re suggesting . . . it would be insanity.”
“Why?” Thor turned the top half of his body to face you, one of his hands coming to rest on your knee. “You hate it here. You’ve told me as much. You feel as if you’re in a cage, and there’s so much more out there to explore. I could show you that.”
You laughed, but there was no humor in it, no, it was more a sound of shock. “As beautiful as that sounds, I think you’re forgetting the small fact that I am not Asgardian or Midgardian.”
“There are several bodies of water on Asgard. You can stay in any of them. You would love it. It’s the most beautiful place in the entire realm, and you could stay with me.” Thor spoke, his hand squeezing your knee.
“But my family, Thor . . .” You protested.
“We could visit any time that you wanted to. All it would take is a visit to Heimdall.” Thor promised.
His words did give you pause. He watched you, his heart aching in his chest as he waited for your response. “You make it sound so easy.” You said, looking back at him.
“Why can’t it be? I’m not ready to leave you yet, Y/N.” Thor said. It was almost unconscious, the way you both moved closer to each other with his words.
“You’ve known me for such a short time.” You replied, your words breathless as you stared into his eyes.
“And I’ve fallen for you more and more everyday. Are you saying you do not feel the same?” He asked.
It took you a moment to respond, but when you did, a faint sigh escaped your lips and you rested your forehead against his, eyes fluttering shut. “I do, but most people would call that insanity. After all, we barely know each other.”
“I know enough,” Thor said before he closed the distance between the two of you, his lips parted as his mouth brushed yours.
It was almost as if he was calling thunder to him. His whole body from the top of his head to the tips of his toes filled with a fire akin to lightning at the sensation of your lips pressed against his. From the gasp that he heard leave your lips, you were feeling the same. His hand gripped your knee tighter, his other arm slipping around your back to grip your bare skin and tug you closer. Your body was soft and warm to his touch, pushing yourself closer to him at the urging of his hands, one of your arms reaching up to slip around his neck and rest on his shoulder. Your lips moved with his in a fluid motion, parting as soon as you felt his tongue to deepen the kiss. A delicate moan left your lips at the sensation, and your arm tugged him impossibly closer.
The seconds seemed to turn to hours as the two of you continued to explore each other, hands memorizing bodies, followed by lips. It was only when the sun was rising that the two of you rested by each other’s sides. Your fingers traced over his chest in soothing circles that had Thor closing his eyes and relaxing into the sand. The way you touched him with such gentle fingers had shivers exploding over his arms. “We need to go before they’ve noticed my disappearance.” You whispered, though made no move to get up.
“Just a moment longer,” Thor requested, his hand making a lazy trail up and down your side.
You propped yourself up on your elbow so you could look into his eyes, an adoring look in them. “I’m getting the feeling that you enjoy putting yourself in dangerous situations, Thor Odinson.”
“Well, I do tend to find them more entertaining,” Thor replied with a mischievous grin, moving closer to met you in another kiss. Before he could, he felt a sharp pain shot through his neck, causing him to fall back with a grunt.
“Thor?!” Your voice was panicked as you leaned over him, worry in your eyes. It was the strangest sensation, his body losing all feeling as you pulled something out of his neck. There was a large splash and while he couldn’t look out at the ocean, you could, and he watched your eyes widen at what you saw there. “Sister . . .” You gasped in shock.
And thus, once again, Thor’s world went black.
ϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟ
When he woke up the next time, the first thing he heard was your voice, and for a brief second he thought the whole last few moments might have been a dream. The aching in his body told him otherwise, along with your words.
“You have to believe me! He’s not dangerous! He’s just trying to save his kingdom!”
“You’re so stupid. And how do you think he’s going to save his kingdom? Anahita is filled with resources he could use to save it, and then he’ll come back and take us over! Have you not paid attention to the stories?” A voice argued with you.
“He’s not like that! He’s been here for weeks now, and he’s never -”
“Weeks?!” There was silence and Thor managed to open his eyes to find himself in a makeshift cage, bars surrounding him. At first he had thought the substance he had been injected with was what had been keeping him feeling so sore, but as he looked around, he noticed that wasn’t the case. He was tied down with rocks, rocks so heavy even he couldn’t hope to lift them. “You have betrayed your family, and your kingdom.” Thor turned his head to find you cowering before his cage, a strong woman standing before you with nothing but disapproval on her face. “We’re ashamed to call you one of us.”
“Sister, you have to listen -”
There was a loud smack, and Thor watched as you fell to the side, cradling your cheek with your hand. The sight of red and the pain in your hunched figure had Thor furious. “Do not touch her!” He tried to get up, used every bit of his strength to push the rocks off of him, but they would not budge.
Your sister approached the cage, her fingernails tapping the bars as she stared Thor down. There were definite similarities in your features. She was beautiful as well, but while your beauty was pure and soft, hers had a more . . . sinister quality to it, her light blue eyes icy as she stared Thor down. “Your power is no good here Asgardian. After the War, we had to make preparations in case your type ever tried to invade again. Looks like they’re doing well.”
Thor didn’t care, all he cared about was getting to you. “If you touch her again -”
She laughed, shaking her head as Thor continued to struggle. “You are a stubborn one, aren’t you? If you weren’t able to be hypnotized, I’d believe my sister had you under a spell.”
Thor struggled harder, his eyes locked on you as you turned to face him, gripping the bars of the cage tight.
“I’m sorry,” you mouthed to him, tears streaming down your reddened face.
“You know if she’d sent you on your way as soon as you got here, hypnotized you into leaving, you’d be fine, and we never would have bothered you again.” Your sister told him.
“Somehow I doubt that,” Thor grunted.
She laughed, the menacing sound sending shivers down Thor’s spine. “Oh, he’s a smart one, Y/N. I can see why you like him. All those bulging muscles and golden braids, then a brain on top of it. Easy to give into temptation like that isn’t it?”
“Let him go, please, he won’t tell anyone, I swear to it.” You pleaded for his sake, not taking your eyes off of Thor as you did.
But she ignored you. “When the Tide rolls in, you will sink. None of your magic, not even your little hammer can save you. You will drown, and then tomorrow, I will bring your body to my family for all to see, especially you.” She said, turning to you. “I’m going to take you back to the palace, and lock you in your room so you can spend all day thinking about what is happening to your precious Asgardian.”
“Let me stay with him please. I don’t care what you do to me, just don’t kill him!” You cried.
“Don’t worry, Y/N. I will get out of this.” He couldn’t stand to see the despair on your face. “Somehow,” he added.
“Thor -” You started to say something, but before you could, your sister gripped your hair tight, dragging you away from him, your sobs echoing throughout the cave walls until there was nothing but silence and the sound of the water splashing the rocks around him.
Now, all he had to do was figure out how to get out of here and back to you before he drowned. Shouldn’t be too difficult.
ϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟϟ
After hours and hours of struggling, Thor knew he was running out of time. He could feel the water from the tides lapping at his back but the ropes and rocks still gave him no pull. He had tried to call Mjolnir, and as your sister had pointed out, it did no good. It seemed all of his powers had been dampened in the cave. He had even tried calling out to Heimdall, but nothing had happened. He knew there had to be something he hadn’t thought of yet, but he was struggling to concentrate with the rising sound of the water.
Until another noise caught his attention.
A splash, out of place from all the others that he had been hearing for the past few hours. Assuming it was your sister coming to watch his demise, he called out. “Let me out of here, Siren! Or you will wish you had!”
His words were met with silence until another loud splash sounded, this time right beside his ear. He turned his head in a quick movement just in time to see a glimpse of a blue and green tail. He didn’t have to wait long before he saw your face, eyes still red from the tears you shed over him. “It would be my pleasure to let you out of here.”
“Y/N!” He wished he could touch you, reach out and hold you close to him. “How did you escape?”
Thor watched in amazement as you began pulling rocks that he had been unable to off of him. “My sister, while cruel, is not smart. I’ve been sneaking out of my room for years now. She won’t even know that I’m gone.” Finally, she was able to take off enough of the rocks so that Thor could start helping her. “Thor, I’m so sorry. I should have been paying more attention -”
“This is not your fault, Y/N.” Thor told her as they were able to start untying the ropes.
“Yes it is, and now you have to leave, and we’ll never see each other again.” You told him, your hands shaking as you worked with the knots until Thor was free.
Thor reached out, his hands grasping your face while his thumb brushed away your tears that were now streaming. “May I ask where you’re getting this information? Because I fully intend on seeing you again.”
“What?” Your voice broke at his words, and your wet hands reached up to grip his own. “Thor, you can’t . . . you can’t come back! They’ll kill you! You won’t be able to escape and -”
“I’ll risk anything to see you again.” Thor told you, “I’m going to come back for you, Y/N. I like dangerous situations, remember?”
You shook your head, but your frown faded and was replaced with an affectionate smile. Grabbing him around the waist, you tugged him into the water. “They’re growing on me too.” You told him, your nose brushing against his for a brief moment before you leaned up and pressed your lips firmly against his, smooth and fluid, your lips moving together until you pulled away, both breathless from the sensation. “Take a deep breath, let’s get you out of here,” You murmured against his mouth, gripping his hand tight.
Thor did as requested, and found himself dragged along under the water. It was a strange feeling, being pulled as if he weighed nothing, even stranger was the feeling of his powers returning to his limbs the further they got from the cave. By the time the two of you had reached the shore, he was able to call Mjolnir with no difficulties.
“Thor? Promise me you’ll be safe.” You begged, your hands cupping his face now while his arms held you close.
“You could see for yourself. Come with me,” he pleaded, his forehead resting against yours.
But you shook your head. “I have to make sure they don’t come after you.” You told him while your thumb caressed his cheek.
“Your safety is more important than my own. I promise I would keep you safe.” Thor tried to convince you, but even before he said the words, he knew they were pointless. Your mind had been made up.
“I know you would, my sweet Thor, but I won’t let you risk that. If you do indeed come back. Maybe we will find a way to be together then. If you still want to that is.” You told him.
“There is never going to be a moment when I don’t want to be with you, Y/N.” Thor told you, sincerity in his voice as he leaned down to meet you lips in a final kiss. Both of you clutching each other tight as you did, knowing this would be the last time you would see each other for a while.
“Go,” you murmured when the two of you parted. “Before it’s too late.”
Thor nodded and stepped back, glancing at you one more time before calling out. “Heimdall, open the bifrost!” Instantly, the portal opened and Thor found himself traveling in the air, already missing your presence.
He knew one thing for sure as he landed on the rainbow bridge. He was going to find a way back to you, one way or another.

Here are more in-depth thoughts about Thor in Endgame because I need to barf some feels about it now.
To start off with I’m just going to say that I think they went the right way with Thor in this movie. Now, when I say that—because I know a lot of my fellow Thor lovers are not happy at the moment and to an extent I am too—I am not meaning the surface of what was seen by others and a lot of the audience.
I went into the movie knowing what was happening with him, so it wasn’t a big shock for me to see it (just the visuals were a bit surprising at first because I didn’t know what it would be like). I’m glad I knew going ahead of time because my knee jerk reaction would have been ‘oh, hell no.’
So what I mean by how I think for the most part they went the right way with Thor is this:
SPOILERS FOR THOR IN ENDGAME BELOW
[eta] um, didn’t realize how long this would get so if you do read it all I appreciate it and also have a cookie. <3
I think it was the right thing for him to completely fall apart and let the depression, PTSD, and trauma take over. I think that was a very clever part of letting people see underneath the surface of the King of Asgard. How could he not be fucked up by the end of Ragnarok and events of IW? It’s not possible, only a person completely devoid of empathy and emotion could just go on with their day. Not Thor. His heart is so big and so caring that he fell apart because of it.
The delivery of the line “I went for the head” gutted me. You can hear how utterly broken he is. Kudos to Chris Hemsworth for that because damn, that was heavy. You can see him lose touch with reality in a sense after that, the final nail in the coffin of his guilt. So to see him in New Asgard, much heavier, drunk, dissociating, and suffering was pretty much the only path you can take (not meaning physical details here just the overall concept).
It’s a very real and hard look at what someone like him has been through and the results of it. It’s like Tony in Iron Man 3 with his anxiety and PTSD. How can you not go through something like that and come out on the other side all sunshine and roses?
This is what I really think they did right with him in this movie. This is more the reality of the aftermath of trauma and while yes it is presented in a very flippant and comedic way it is still very good underneath all of that. Strip it down and you see how broken he is. I think Chris Hemsworth played it very well. While his performance was still more geared for comic relief, the pain, the denial, the fear, the guilt, the sadness was still there just underneath the surface and could clearly be seen. He was muddled, rambly, defensive, moody, which for me as someone who deals with depression and anxiety illnesses on a daily basis I can 100% confirm that these are some of the symptoms of these things.
The scene with Frigga was the right move because I think that no one except Frigga could help him tip the scales of him starting to heal. I know that Thor would have been able to do it himself, but having Frigga there for him to confess to was perfect. He couldn’t tell anyone about what was really inside him because no one except Frigga would understand. Odin could have to an extent, but he’s about as comforting as a thorn bush. And Loki probably could have understood a hell of a great deal as well, but he’s gone and he has his whole host of problems and self-loathing. Frigga was the right choice for this. And I know the fat jokes were there, the only one I personally will let slide is her saying ‘eat a salad’ because that is what mum’s do. I don’t think it came from a standpoint of Thor just being heavy, I think it was more just to have him healthier and clearer headed. He’s pretty much been drunk for 5 years straight, boo needs some vitamins and good nutrition.
Also, him summoning Mjolnir at the end of their encounter was so beautiful, I thought. He really did not believe he was still ‘worthy’ and despite Odin telling him in Ragnarok that Mjolnir was basically just a hammer and Thor had it in him the whole time it’s very real that depression strips that all away. You feel like a failure, a fraud, and not worthy to anyone. To have Mjolnir come back to him like that and his face light up was just so lovely. I wish he didn’t have to have that validation, but I think it was something he needed at that moment. Need to see physically that he was still Thor and worthy of all that he is and has to offer to people.
Now, having said all that and taking away the layers that were on the surface, the surface was... not great. I don’t mean as Thor himself and the performance, but the way the movie, story, other characters treated him. And I think a good part of it was there wasn’t time to go into it. The movie did need comic relief and release of all that tension in the room. Thor was just the unlucky guy to be tasked with almost all of that.
There’s an article here that kind of goes into the thought process of the filmmakers and while I agree to an extent, I also think they went about it the wrong way.
This quote, in particular, made me think a lot:
This was their way of showing how survivors are suffering and punishing themselves after the Snap. This was a physical way of manifesting the grief and regret Thor feels. But how do you punish a deity? How do you show that someone who looks like Chris Hemsworth has let everything go?
They made him a trainwreck.
I think the real problems I had with Thor and I know a lot of others in this was that whole movie concept of ‘show, don’t tell’. They went the very, very showy route.
The weight gain honestly was a bit surprising at first when I heard about it, but really I couldn’t give a fuck. I love him no matter what. I’d still glad drag him to bed if I were given the opportunity. I just wish they could have done a better job with the actual weight on his body. Hemsworth is obviously in peak physical shape, so the obvious thing was to just slap a fat suit on him and call it a day. I really don’t think they put enough thought into how fat would have distributed on his body and frame. It’s almost as if there are *gasps* no fat people in Hollywood to talk to about this. *rolls eyes* They really could have done better with the physical aspect of his body.
The fat jokes... well, as someone who has been fat their entire life they can be very triggering for me and I honestly had one or more anxiety attacks after hearing that he would be heavier for the duration of the film before seeing it. While the fat jokes aren’t really blatant fat jokes (it’s kind of hard for me to explain to people who haven’t had similar situations like me), I was okay. I’ve heard the fat jokes before, I’ve been the victim of many fat jokes before, so while I would have preferred not to have any, I think they were the milder of what you could have. If that makes any sense.
I am very tired of the trope that the fat people are only there for the comedic relief. I wish they could have toned that down a lot because I am tired of the way media treats fat people. Tired that fat people don’t get to be superheroes unless they’re a villain or just there for the laughs or laughs as a side character that helps out the superheroes. In this way, the movie let me down and let Thor as a character down. I think Ragnarok set up very nicely the balance of Thor’s comedic side and serious side. He was funny but not funny as to diminish him as a character or the storyline. This just felt he was there to be the funny one, like Drax in GotG Vol. 2 and I haaaaaated him in that.
One good thing they did right by him in respect of his weight is that they didn’t change it. He stayed the same during the whole film and didn’t have any special powers or short cuts to make him buff again or ‘right’ again as a large part of the toxic beauty/health industry/society has taught us. He was still the mighty Thor only with an added beer gut.
While I felt like his final battle wasn’t as epic as it was in Ragnarok or IW, I still think he kicked a lot of ass and took a lot of names.
And his Magical Girl transformation at the end... hoo boy I needed a moment there. The hair and beard with the braids it was just... ghnnnn amazing. It was true Nordic Viking God Thor right there.
Overall his arc in this movie wasn’t as deep as I was expecting. They definitely gave that to Tony and Steve. Thor’s journey was more there for the comic relief. I’m still not sure of how I feel about the end and the way he took off with the Guardians. It felt wrong but also like it was needed in a weird way. I’m still thinking over that. What I felt was wrong is that it severely throws out what was done in previous movies about Thor and his leadership, love for his people, and him being king of Asgard. That felt like a big slap to the face for me. When I first heard of that I felt so angry, so hurt that they would throw out everything that was built up for Thor and his overall character. After seeing it I’m less of that mind, but those feelings are still there. I think it may have sat with me better if it wasn’t just Thor literally handing Valkyrie the keys to New Asgard and buggering off. Because on the surface that’s what it was. I think it would have been better if it was presented as Valkyrie as temp ruler of Asgard while Thor went off to heal or find himself, which he is doing and I want him to do, or even find a new planet to be Asgards home, but not like that. The utter devotion and care for his people was such a key point for him in the previous movies. He’s better than that and to strip that all away and just hand it off to Valkyrie even if she is technically the better leader at the moment hurts. It could have been handled so much better and have Thor not feel so OOC at the end.
I really, really hope that this isn’t the end of Thor’s story because it feels unfinished. They left it open ended for more unlike with Tony and Steve. The Guardians still have another movie and I am really wondering if Thor will still be a part of that with this story. Will he be there to tie in Angela if she is introduced? I don’t know, but I want more, not just because he is my fave but because I feel as if his journey isn’t complete. It’s like there’s something missing and he needs to have the final say and find this inner peace. Tony and Steve were given this complete circle and that circle has been closed. Thor’s has not and while I can understand we may never get that as tight as the others, I think there’s definite room for it.
After seeing this I really hope the rumours of a Thor 4 will come true, especially with Taika. I can see a really fun movie of Thor healing and learning to live with the past. Will he be out there looking for Loki? Will he be with the Guardians? Will he be out there just him doing him? Who knows.
They tried to hold onto that humour from Ragnarok and some moments they did, but ultimately they failed spectacularly with pushing it way too far. If they pulled it back some and tweaked some things with the way others interacted with him then I think it would have been a lot less jarring.
If you’ve read this far then kudos to you. I know this may seem kind of a convoluted meta and thoughts about him in Endgame and I’m still very much in a mindset of that. I loved some of what was done for him/to him in the movie and hated other things. I need more time to digest.
tl;dr version: I love Thor so gd much

Here comes the post™ about the movie™ no one asked for
I’ve been postponing this due to spoilers, but I think it’s time now.
Those of you who already know me and who I speak to daily already know my opinion about EG and maybe I was expecting it to to change in some weeks, but it didn’t.
It’s not a surprise to anyone that Thor’s my favorite character who I’ve been playing for at least seven years. He brought me joy, helped me to find friends for life and gave me strength when I was down.
It’s not a surprise that I feel betrayed and disappointed by how his story was dealt in this last movie and I’m willing to ignore parts of it and replace it with my own canon. It’s not that I had faith in the production to begin with, but still I was let down with all of this disrespect.
Don’t read it if you haven’t watched the movie, heavy spoilers ahead.
My thoughts:
- Thor didn’t get anyone back. I wasn’t expecting those who were killed to return, but maybe those who got dusted could include Sif at least, but they’re not known to respect women at all. He fought for everyone’s else happy ending but his, and although this is in character, it’s still sad
- There was no satisfactory ending to Thor/Loki relationship. Everyone who bothered to watch Thor’s movies know that Thor and Loki share a deep, complicated bond. It’s a love/hate relationship and they were working to mend it when Loki had one of the most gruesome, unnecessary deaths I’ve ever seen on screen. They never shared a hug on screen and they didn’t use Tom/Loki’s popularity for anything. The death of a character who struggled their whole life by the hands of their abuser? No thank you, you can keep it
- Thor went back to Asgard and didn’t even visit Loki. I didn’t understand their time travel rules but I know they were confusing. Thor normally doesn’t play by human’s laws and I wished his approach to Loki was different. That was the last time he was seeing his brother and I understand him losing it when he meets Frigga, maybe one of the best scenes he has in the entire shitshow
- Thor’s love life sucks. Everybody had their happy dance, their happy marriage with kids, but Thor, who was left with no family at all. I don’t ship Thor/Jane but it’s clear he loves her deeply, she was an important person in his life who opened his eyes and taught him to be less arrogant, selfish and more human. I don’t want them to be a couple anymore, but they could at least respect this relationship. They did them dirty since TDW but that’s another subject. I don’t want Thor/Jane anymore when we have a whole Thorkyrie meal waiting to happen, but they could at least address this subject and show that Thor/Jane can still be friends
- They really said fuck asgardian lives. I wasn’t expecting anyone to return, but have Steve going back in time to have his happy ending was a bit selfish imo, considering Thor was left to live his own reality where everybody is dead but him. They didn’t have to save Asgard or prevent the elves from attacking, but they could have changed Thanos’ attack to their deteriorated ship and the massacre that followed. I thought Thor could meet his sister somehow and bring back the fallen asgardians. That would be better. He could have used the gauntlet himself to fix this shit, but Thor was a second rate character in EG
- I was told there was a Thorkyrie kiss scene in Ragnarok and now I understand why it was cut. Valkyrie could have a pivotal role in not allowing Thor to succumb in a spiral of self hatred and lethargy, sharing the burden of leading a collapsed civilization and helping Thor out of his drunk state, in the same way he helped her, brought her home and gave her life a new purpose. It was a conscious decision to take everything from Thor, especially his development.
If I was mad they let Valkyrie be King instead of Thor, who was grown to rule? Not at all. He wouldn’t be able to do anything considering his mental state, trauma and self image, he needs to recover and heal and it takes time.
He was king for about 8 hours and he had to witness his family, his friends and his people being slaughtered in front of him and we know he carries this blame like an anchor. Valkyrie at least managed to lead the escape pods to Earth and probably lead them while Thor was fighting in IW. She’s the only one left he can count on, and their scenes together were disappointing
- Talking about trauma. I knew he wouldn’t be ok considering what happened to him in the recent movies. He lost his mom, his brother, his lover, his father, all of his friends, his eye, his hammer, his hair, his sister, his planet, his army, his people, his battle. We know since AoU that his worst fear was losing them all and he had to witness all of this foreshowed carnificina (remember they weren’t snapped, a quick and painless death, no, they were all butchered one by one in front of Thor) without getting a break or some time to react or grieve or anything in response to it.
I’ve read before he’s a safe choice when it comes to trauma, nothing should affect him because he’s a god. But it does, he may be a god but he’s still made of flesh and bones and a beating heart that is way too big and too soft.
We watched his desperate attempts to make things right in IW, his desperate attempts to end his own life. We watched him ready to die by Loki’s side when the ship was about to explode. We watched him taking the full blast of a star, forging an ax by the cost of his own life. Bless Hemsworth for all of Thor’s emotional scenes, every time he cried I cried as well because I could understand and relate to his struggle of trying to remain fine for his friends’ sake while his heart was shattered
- That trauma reflected on his self image. He couldn’t go through all of this unscatched, and it’s ok. I understand his recluse, his effort to shut down the world outside and deal with things by the only way he knows how to deal with any inner turmoil: drowning his sorrow in alcohol. He’s always been a heavy drinker and it’s a normal, accepted asgardian behavior to drink entire casks of ale (see Valkyrie). You know what’s not ok? Using his problems as a fucking three hours joke.
- He’s the only character whose pain isn’t treated like a real problem. As if he’s being dramatic when he can’t say a name or tell a story without losing it or going through a panic attack. Skinny characters are worthy compassion, thicc characters aren’t and I see your fatphobia, @marvel
- Fucking three hour joke. I’ve seen someone point on twitter that there are two stances to weight in EG: Tiny gets stranded in space for weeks, when he returns to earth he’s malnourished, thin, sick. People immediately tend to him, he’s hospitalized, it’s heartbreaking to see him like this and it’s obvious he has been through too much. All the characters involved react to him with sympathy. The same can’t be told about Thor. He has a weight problem too, he’s dissociating and he doesn’t care what he looks like anymore. I know people who went through the same ordeal.
Thor’s punishing himself for feeling like a failure and it reflects on his body. Yet, we are lead to feel sorry for one of them (Tiny) and laugh at the other (Thor). The audience is lead to have compassion by one character going through a difficult phase and being grossed out/amused by another character who is going through the same thing, if not worse.
- It’s not woke nor progressive to have a fit man wearing a badly made fat suit to badly portray a fat person. It was literally made to entertain, to be a comic relief, not to raise awareness of how mental health problems can cause physical problems as well and it’s a missed opportunity to have an approach to it, on how men are supposed to be fit all the time, on how superhero bodies can be in all shapes and sizes. It’s all about fat-shaming and fatphobia.
I love and appreciate Thor in all shapes and forms, but what they did to him wasn’t a body positive view and if they mean to keep fat Thor in their next projects, they better hire an actual plus size actor. The sole purpose of chubby Thor was to degrade the character and strip him of sympathy because he “did that to himself”
- This mockery comes from other superheroes. What are we teaching young audiences when they watch the Avengers making fun of a debilitated person? That it’s ok to laugh at a fat, depressed person who has panic attacks? Thor gets mocked, teased and fat shamed by people who are dear to him, by the only “friends” he has left - friends whom he knows for at least 6+ years - friends he defended and saved countless times before. By his own mother to some degree.
They don’t show him the same sympathy and just like Odin, Thor’s only seen worthy by how hard he can strike, by how powerful he can be. A weapon, not a person, and when said weapon loses its sharpness, it’s not worthy fixing anymore. Thor’s a war hound and that’s the only aspect the Avengers value in him.
It’s important to remember Thor treated the Hulk differently, like a person, and supported Bruce when he didn’t want to turn into the Hulk. He treated Valkyrie differently, too, when he realized she had alcohol problems and carried an immense grief. Thor’s often betrayed by people whom he loves and trusts, but this is too much of an insult to people going through the same problems in the audience. It’s sad to see all the other characters (except Bruce/Hulk) denying emphathy and compassion to Thor, knowing Thor would never deny emphathy and compassion to anyone else
- Thor isn’t lazily eating/drinking after a broke up, no. He was traumatized from seeing everyone he had ever loved die in front of him then being blamed for not stopping Thanos, or going to the head. He hopes that by chopping Thanos’ head off he’d feel better, but he doesn’t. Thor lost more people than any of the others and Cap goes to group theraphy sessions (never bothers to invite Thor), Tiny gets hospitalized but Thor doesn’t have a fit boy anymore, he doesn’t deserve simpathy, he’s lazy for letting it happen to him and that’s how they want us to feel. Amused by Thor’s pain that’s less important now because he lost his 8 pack
- He died to forge a weapon and it wasn’t enough. He did an herculean job to make a weapon strong enough to kill Thanos, not only did he fail but he also survived to tell. If he had died trying, then his ticket to Valhalla would be granted, but he lost it as well.
Not only he carries a huge survivor guilt, but the certainty he isn’t worthy anything anymore, not even the golden halls of Valhalla wait for him. And he tries time and time again to live a glorious death that doesn’t come
- His drunkenness is ooc. They contradicted their own canon by claiming that Thor can get drunk on weak midgardian ale. He can’t. He could really drink that amount of beer, but it wouldn’t affect him. Not even physically. Thor has a fast metabolism and it would take him some hundred years to become that chubby on weak beer or other beverages. They ignored their own canon to insist in this joke, that had greenlight from everybody involved
- Marvel’s efforts to hide chubby Thor. In the trailers, in the posters, in the action figures and promotional images, we see the usual Thor, fit. It’s supposed to be a big surprise to see Thor like this, people told me. I think it’s all about sending a message that chubby heroes don’t sell and they hid this information purposely. There’s no action figures of fat Thor. He isn’t made to promote the movie, awareness or sell anything. Because a fat person serves only for fun, they think, not to sell, his role in this movie is to be mocked. But it’s on them, because in this house we love and respect chubby Thor and I can’t wait to buy his fluffly plush doll
- Thor’s weakened. Stormbreaker is used as a bottle opener and they seem to forget how powerful it was. Everything that Taika did, the Russos undid. The whole point of Ragnarok (the best Thor movie imo) was showing Thor and the audience he doesn’t need a weapon to be powerful. In IW he gets his eye back and makes an ax, forgetting all of this, and in EG he has his hammer back. Not only one, but he’s wielding two magical weapons and is still beaten? No way. I can’t believe I paid actual money to watch it. Thor could have used the gauntlet and he’d still be fine and alive, it would be so much better imo
- He is back to using a weapon to tell him he has value. He was over mjolnir’s standards on what’s worthy anymore and he’s finally free of its magical whims. Now he trusts in the hammer judgment of him again because what else does he have? Who else does he have?
- They never wanted us to feel bad about Thor. They mixed Thor’s sadness with shots of his body to entertain from the fact that he’s dead inside. His arc is made for laughs. We’re lead to think it’s funny. If they wanted us to feel bad about fat Thor, they would make him thin like Tiny who got all the sympathy he deserved. Bless Chris for the emotion he conveyed though
- Thor leaving with the Guardians was a conflicting point. I’d love to see Thor with the GoTG and I love the previous GoTG movies. But it won’t solve his problems. I wanted him to heal, and if the Guardians will help him with it, instead of the Avengers, then it’s ok. He should accept there are things he can’t change and it’s not his fault, he should try and change the things he can and look forward to something, anything, that would give him hope again
- In the end, at least, everybody was rooting for him to recover and it was good. He wasn’t magically made thin again and all the time I was waiting for a Rocky Balboa sequence with Thor lifting weight or jogging, but it didn’t happen, and at least it served to show us that he’s still worthy, a hero and himself in spite of how he looks or how much he weighs
- It hurts to see an optimistic, caring character losing it. I know he wouldn’t leave unscatched, but it’s sad to lose my ray of sunshine Thor, who always had hope and fought for what was right. Seeing my favorite character lethargic, apathetic and not being the protagonist of his own life is very hard. Thor always brought me inspiration and he instills the best in people: he supports Sif when she wants to be a warrior, he shows Jane she’s right in her researches, shows Valkyrie she’s not her failure, helps Bruce out of panic attacks in an alien planet, tries to reach for Loki time and time again, he trusts the Avengers and works with them in order to save a world that isn’t even his. He saved the world at least four times.
And they all let him down. It’s not a satisfactory conclusion, but I didn’t hope they’d make it differently. I still hope I’ll see my Thor again and even if I don’t, I’ll write him with faithful friends I met along the way. He deserves it and I won’t let him down
Any positive points after miles of salt?
Thor chopping off Thanos’ head and probably using it as a mug was nice.
I liked his Viking looks with braids in his hair and beard and how he weilded two magical weapons.
Sharing them with Cap, who is one of his best friends, is great too.
Having Thor leaving with the Guardians was a nice choice because I like the Guardians and I know Thor will return better after this vacation to assume his throne.
Leaving the throne for Valkyrie means she’s his Queen in his eyes and you’ll have to pry Thorkyrie from my cold, dead hands.
There’s a bitter taste, yeah, but things can be better in the future when the sun will shine on us again.

(( Some Marvel Wank: An Essay by Mir, or, How And What Shall Be Ignored 5Ever Regarding Endgame. ( SPOILER HEAVY BEYOND THE CUT YOU DON’T EVEN UNDERSTAND, SO MUCH SPOILER )
To be honest, I am rewatching both Infinity War and Endgame this weekend, but for now I need to pour some salt truths and thoughts out about mostly Endgame. Very frankly speaking, Infinity War was mostly acceptable but also sort of forgettable in a weird ‘ I like it but I kinda don’t ‘ sort of way. It’s hard to explain, I might actually better liveblog into 1 post when I watch it again so I don’t miss any... thoughts on what happened.
----
Where do I actually even begin with it? As someone who has watched Marvel start with Thor’s story, and abandon any sense and reason when it comes to his character development, I feel Endgame was honestly just a final nail in the coffin of an already deteriorated version of an otherwise glorious character. The final noose around his neck, the falling chop of the guillotine if you will. The weirdest thing is that they sort of did other characters dirty by doing Thor dirty, which is something I didn’t expect but oh well... ( sans Steve, per usual <3 )
New Asgard: I love the idea of it. I had envisioned the remaining Asgardians would be allowed to settle somewhere, and it makes sense it would be by a shore but also with mountains. Even though they would thrive in woodlands and mountains I feel the connection to the Vikings of old would give them this opportunity, and the location is fitting. Do I suspect they will resurrect Asgard properly at some point? Absolutely. They would want to rebuild much of their former home, and I feel that would be only possible off-Earth, possibly hovering above it.
Vakyrie: It warmed my heart to see her thrive, and seemingly happy. I don’t like it when trauma and PTSD, ( and gods know what else ) is glossed over by movies, but it’s understandable they couldn’t focus in depth on her character, or the Asgardians for that matter. That still doesn’t mean my greedy ass didn’t want it, or means that all is well and good, emotionally and mentally, for her ( or any of them ).
Thor: - cracks knuckles - Listen, my bias for him as a character should be clear and well known at this point. Everything about him, about the setup, intro, continuation and the overall approach was a joke, literally...
I find it acceptable he wouldn’t be in a palace anymore, their main priority is getting their people back into the swing of normal life, coping with said life and this new world, and supporting each other. Nobody cares about glitter and gold at this point, and Thor def wouldn’t. He would NOT however live away from them. Post Infinity War, post everything, his people is what matters most to him right now, and getting revenge on Thanos. Showing him as a recluse makes no sense, and he would never, period.
Continuing on from that idea, let me make one thing very clear. I’m NOT against the loss of his physique, or whatever the hell that means, I’m not against the notion that he suffers from (suvivors) guilt, depression, and that various other issues would haunt and plague him to no end. Including poor coping mechanisms that goes with that. But painting him as someone who would wallow in self-pity, after everything he has experienced and been through, after everything he has lost? Not in a million fucking years.
These tantrums, and whining, and staying hung up on mistakes and a lost battle of all things, is going against everything he has learned over the years ( and considering both Taika and the Russo bros shat on all previous movies and everything they displayed, I shouldn’t have been surprised). Thor has grown and evolved from that brash, foolhearted boy, CHILD he was, with every step he has taken since being dropkicked in New Mexico, and with every loss and grief he had to endure since then. He was raised by a father who demanded loyalty and bravery from him since the day he was born, and raised by a mother who taught him compassion and seeing the good in others. He had friends ( AND LET’S NOT FRICKEN FORGET SIF IS STILL OUT THERE SOMEWHERE TYVM, don’t even get me started ) that have taught him how to persevere, that have encouraged him and brought him down a peg each time his head got too big. He is a MAN now, someone who doesn’t hide or run from his responsibilities, and definitely someone who will NEVER allow the woe is me to take his focus of his purpose. And speaking of purpose....
Not A King: Thor has always been reluctant to take the throne, this has been a red thread through his arc in the MCU, with waxing and waning intensity towards the issue. But judging by the comments ( mostly of the casual fans, but def some of the die hards as well ) people seem to believe he doesn’t want to be king at all. Honestly, I disagree so hard it makes my body itch. Thor is not Odin, and Thor has rarely understood, let alone agreed with how his father ruled. He didn’t want to be a king LIKE HIM. He didn’t want to be caged on a throne, and ( seemingly ) rule without a heart, without ACTIVELY doing something. That’s what he didn’t want. He is tempest made flesh, he has compassion and a heart, and he needs to DO SOMETHING. And he didn’t feel, for a very long time he was capable to be and act as a king without Loki, without someone by his side to do the ‘ hard stuff ‘, he thought he was incapable of doing what was necessary. He has believed himself unworthy often, of both his hammer and definitely of the throne, and after all this he will not cower and hide, and play Fortnite ( he would be an Overwatch or Skyrim dude anyway tyvm). This is why this... characterization if you may call it that, this story of self-pity and loss of confidence, is outright bullshit. It implies, once again, that he doesn’t learn from the past, and it’s regressing his character so much it’s painful. He would never ever run from his responsibilities, at this point in his life, and that’s why I cannot accept his renouncing of the throne, in whatever form that may be.
The Running Gag And Why It’s Gross For All Involved: I understand that contrast is funny by default, and that extremes, in characters, can be hysterical at times. I didn’t appreciate the Thor Is Fat jokes running through the movie, constantly. It made everyone participating looking like a douche in the process ( Rhodey for example, was so utterly disappointing I legit gasped...). Rocket is a character I expected cheap things from, but the OG 6 ( sans Steve, bless ) participating in it was so OOC for them it was cringe. They were there during the battle in Infinity War... they KNOW what he feels, they understand the guilt. And they would NOT act this way towards Thor.
A Moment Of Brightness: I’m happy with the closure he received with Frigga, fricken finally, but of course it had to be ruined by the ‘ eat a salad ‘ bit. Frigga would not give a rat’s ass about her child being fat, ffs. Steve wielding Mjolnir was magnificent and complies with my headcanons from years and years it makes my heart sing. Steve in general was a jewel in a sea of shit. The throwbacks to other movies were ingenious.
What We Needed But Never Received: A moment between Loki and Thor, at the very least, to offer some closure there as well. T’challa and his people being more than just canon fodder. Captain Marvel being used properly. Multiple characters just... being more than just screen filler.
In Conclusion: This topped my very disliked Ragnarok and that’s saying something. A proper synopsis will follow of course, and updates on the verses page per movie. As it stands I’ll probably be like 80 - 90 % canon divergent since the AoU era, and that’s frankly a-okay with me.
#avengers endgame spoilers#avengers spoilers#endgame spoilers#marvel wank#(( the amount of salt in this is huge#i'm aware#i also don't care#notmythor#i'll probably rant and meta some more on gif sets and pic sets once they start popping up ))

I feel embarrassed but yo I am trying to write a fanfic, it’s not that good but do tell me what you think and if you have any constructive criticism it will be happily welcomed! This is the first chapter:
The pain he felt was indescribable. The constant pounding inside his head, almost as if there was someone hammering his temples over and over. Fragments of what took place in the last 3 days were coming back to him, bits and pieces. If he looked up, the ever-effervescent light of the Throne Room would infiltrate in his emerald green eyes, bringing even more pain. By the love of the Gods, make it stop. Frankly, his attention on the trial disappeared the moment he realized not a single soul in the room would believe any word he said -except his mother, of course. Loki wished he himself could understand what the hell his life had become, that he could make it up for the mistakes he committed against Asgard and his family.
"Any last words before your punishment?" Odin asked, his eyes carried deep disappointment and coldness, so much that made him flinch slightly. Oh, that's right. I don't belong here. Loki ignored the whispers and curses thrown at him, his older brother wasn't by his side and somehow that made him feel in excruciating danger around the people that were once his. The Jotun Prince then proceeded to look at his mother, Frigga refused to cry in front of her strict husband, but Loki knew the Queen better than anyone present, she was devastated. He licked his chapped lips and whispered to her.
"I am so sorry" His weak pleading voice was enough to make Frigga turn her eyes away from her youngest son, the tears threatening to spill. Odin frowned deeply, and with no further ado, banged his spear three times loudly.
"Then I, Odin, King of Asgard, declare that Loki Laufeyson shall have death penalty for committing crimes against the crown, the King, and the Asgardians. As well, for trying to take over the realm of Midgard. He is not to be touched, spoken to, and taken care of, until the day of his execution. Which will happen at dawn. I'll meet you all in 3 days" Loki sighed, trying to take the image of his mother as much as he could before his upcoming doom. I don't belong anywhere.
.-.-.
Thor sat in his room, caressing one of the few presents his little brother gave him during their peaceful times together. He was aware that Loki would be given death penalty for all the vicious actions he had committed against Asgard and Midgard. He was going to lose his little brother once again, and he couldn't help but to feel that it was his fault. There was a knock at his door, however the God of Thunder paid no mind. All he wanted at the moment was to go back to Midgard, hug his Lady Jane, and sleep. He knew slumber wouldn't come to him, though. Every time he closed his eyes he would hear Loki's screams; he would see the hopelessness in his brother's eyes when he let go of his hand; he would feel the smell of antique books, wet earth and flowers, and the raciness of his magic; he would feel the taste of their favorite dessert, the very one they would eat together after winning a big battle. Thor did not hold back his tears, he let them fall freely over the storybook they would read whenever one of them had nightmares.
"Thor? Are you there?" The voice of Lady Sif echoed in his chamber.
"I do not wish to speak to anyone. I ask of you, please, leave me at once" Thor managed to say without choking.
"Thor, I understand you're sad, but…Loki's actions have consequences, and this is fa-"
"If you dare to say it is fair to kill my little brother, I will never look at you, ever again"
"Will you quit it with this never-ending guilt?! It is nonsense! None of what is happening-" At this rate, Thor's chest felt as if it would explode any second now. With long steps, he opened the door, scaring the woman before him. He was livid.
"Everything that is happening with Loki is my fault! His betrayal, his fall, his breakdown, his invasion! All of this! Because I couldn't see what my father was doing to me! I did not stop my father from treating him differently! He was lost, and all I did was push him deep into the abyss!" The grieving god shouted.
"Loki is different! He is a Jotun! Not to mention a traitor!" Sif exclaimed viciously.
"Enough!" Thor shouted, a thunder could be heard through all Asgard. Sif jumped back, however never losing her frown and stance "You are not part of this family. Therefore, you can't possibly understand what happened to him. Much less what I am feeling in this moment. I will ask you nicely one more time: please, leave me alone" Thor said through his clenched teeth. Sif scoffed, turning to go back to the training chambers. The God of Thunder sighed, his shoulders still tensed.
"Damn it" He cursed, finally letting his body breakdown into sobs.
Guilt can eat you away. In his many years of life, he had underestimated the sickness of the mind. Guess I'm paying the price.
.-.-.
Loki was taken to his cell rather violently. The nagging feeling at the back of his head that something awful was about to happen with him couldn't seem to pass. He scratched the part that was afraid of his execution, since he long craved for his death the moment he let go of Thor's hand and fell into the void until now. This feeling was different, as if he had felt this unstoppable fear and hopelessness. The type of fear that you can't run away from. The type of hopelessness that no matter how many times you tell yourself it is over, it gets worse.
The loud sound of his wrists being attached to heavy chains pushed him from his thoughts. Looking over to his right side, the guard was eyeing him something awful. The amount of malfeasance in the guard's stance gave him such crippling dread, his heart was beating as loudly as his brother's thunder.
"What do we have here? God of Mischief, Loki" The man sneered, Loki gulped "You don't seem so mischievous now, do you, boy?" The voice and malice brought him more fragments, not the good kind. It reminded him of the voice that belonged to a mad being "No brother to save you, no mother to protect you. It seems I've won the biggest award of all" The guard proceeded to hit him strongly on the face with his golden baton, Loki could only see starts after such heavy blow, but it was enough to bring him one suffering memory.
He was falling. That was all he could gather. He was falling in a void, without destination, he would fall forever in the darkness. When Loki lost the count of how many days, weeks, months that he had been inside this well of despair, he started hallucinating. Loki dreamed of many outcomes of death, saw his brother dying in many awful ways, his mother being killed viciously, sometimes by his own hand. Most of the times, his hallucinations would show him a light, whenever he finally reached the warm and inviting path of closure, it would end with him looking at his own face. However, he would be without the spell of shapeshifter, he would be in his true roots. A Jotun.
Loki cried every day hysterically, all he wanted was the pain to end, he just wanted to die in peace, was that too much to ask? One day, the doomed day he thought he would be saved, Loki heard the voice of a mad being.
"Come, Loki Laufeyson. I can help you leave this endless pit. However, give me something I will need something in return-"
"Please, help me!"
"I won't hesitate to take that as a yes" The voice laughed sinisterly, Loki regretted immediately. An enormous purple hand grabbed him by his collar, pushing him into a pebbly ground, the Prince felt one sharp rock cutting his cheek. He hissed, but had no time to protest over the wound. Loki's collar once again was in the hands of the mad titan.
"You are Loki, of Asgard. And you are burdened with glorious purpose. You will do as I say" Thanos grinned mercilessly "Understand?"
"…I don't want-" The titan threw him inside a cage, Chitauris were cheering over the new chew toy "Wait! Why are you-!"
"You don't get to question me, boy. Simply follow my orders, and you won't get hurt" Thanos sat in his throne, watching the group of aliens hold the God of Mischief tightly, the beasts were ripping his garments off. Loki looked at Thanos desperately.
"What are they doing?" The mad titan said nothing, giving the Prince a dark smirk "WHAT ARE THEY DOING?" Loki's scream echoed loudly, making the beasts cheer even more over his despair and fear.
"They will teach you not to disobey me" Thanos crossed his legs, watching as the beasts ravished the Prince endlessly. All that could be heard for the whole year were Loki's pleads for mercy, for someone to save him. For the light to come and finally take him. For his mother. For his brother. Hell, even for his father. Thanos would laugh with gusto at the suffering creature before him. How he was being deemed as nothing more than a piece of meat, a pawn that would have no choice but to follow the titan to no end. Loki seceded, he had no other choice.
"Forgive me" He whispered brokenly, as he felt the power of Tesseract consume his already shattered mind.
The God of Mischief was screaming as if his life depended on it. His magic was strong enough to reach out to anyone, anything that could help him. Loki was sure that he could not go through being ravished again, not without dying of fear first. The guard was about to hit the Prince again, he was not done taking Loki's clothes off, luckily. Then, suddenly an abnormal tremor took place in the Palace. The rapist fell on his back, cursing loudly. Loki couldn't breathe, his body was under the spell of a very powerful panic attack. Every little detailed pain he felt during his imprisonment with Thanos manifested in his body along with the memories. The Prince felt the last bit of air he had left leave his mouth, as he choked with his own demons.
.-.-.
Not too far from the cell Loki was being kept, a very powerful being appeared. As she finished to materialize, Frigga and Thor had arrived as well, both looking at the shining woman with wonder and suspicion. Her skin was even more pale than Loki's, her dress was long and loose fitting, her long hair was almost as white as her dress, and her eyes were the most crimson red the mother and the son ever saw in their lifetime. She was ethereal. She was light. She was-
"Eve?" Frigga questioned, her voice exhilarated hope. The ethereal being gave the gentlest smile Thor ever seen, her aura screamed tranquility and lightness.
"Is she real?" He asked skeptically. Eve's chuckle brought even more clarity to the room.
"Yes, I am" Eve turned and motioned for the family to follow her "I suppose you heard him" It wasn't a question, the tranquil air and lightness left the room. As quick as lightning, the darkness and heaviness took over the atmosphere once again.
"We heard. My poor son" Frigga sobbed as she ran beside Eve and Thor.
"Loki's magic reached me! He must be in great great danger!" Thor exclaimed desperately, fearing for his little brother's safety (and sanity).
"And right you are, my friend" Eve answered sadly "We must leave at once, Odin knows I'm here, as well as his most trusted warriors" They opened the door that led to the cell, but immediately halted as they took in the scene before them. The guard was back at stripping the God of Mischief, who seemed to be dead. Frigga shot a powerful spell before Eve and Thor even moved a muscle. The rapist shouted in pain -and kept shouting- as he fell on the ground, his eyes were red.
"Mother?" Thor questioned, impressed.
"He is simply experiencing what he had planned for my son" She answered coldly.
"Very well done, Frigga" Eve complimented, already kneeling in front of the beaten and unconscious man who had stolen her heart many years back "Oh, Loki. What happened to you?" She whispered huskily and sadly as she caressed his cheek tenderly. She heard Thor smashing the heavy chains, which made the God of Mischief fall down towards her lap. With the help of Frigga, Eve managed to carry Loki. Thor was biting his lips nervously.
"What do we do? Where can we take him?!" He asked frantically. Eve closed her eyes tightly, a portal appeared in front of them, the sound of birds singing could be heard.
"To my temple. Odin's not allowed there"
"My husband is stubborn and powerful. He will go after you!" Frigga exclaimed desperately.
"Well, he knows better, my Queen. I am also powerful, as powerful as the old man. Besides, my defenses are strong enough to put him to sleep for the next 80 years" The Queen's eyes widened, but her shock was quickly gone as she looked at her sons. Frigga smiled determined.
"I will take care of my husband. However, all I care at this moment is for the safety of my son" Frigga said, caressing Loki's hair, her eyes lifted to make eye contact with her first born "Both of my sons" Thor smiled sadly.
"Then I promise with my life that I will keep them safe from Odin's wrath" Eve assured the Queen softly "I will see you again, Frigga. Fret not. Odin won't be able to lay a hand on you" The ethereal being said, as she casted a spell that engulfed Frigga in a warm light.
"Thank you, darling" Thor took Frigga's place as Loki's support "Be safe. All of you. I love you very much"
"We love you too" They said in unison, and just as fast as Eve made the portal appear, they were gone from Asgard. Right they were in time, since Odin came barging furiously inside the cell, taking the scene that consisted of his wife glaring at him with sharp blue eyes and one of his most trusted guards screaming and pleading on the ground.
"Frigga, what is the meaning of this?" The King asked sternly.
"It's called being just, husband" The Queen answered just as stern and cold.
.-.-.
As they left the portal, Thor felt the smell of fresh air. Taking his surroundings, he gathered the information that they were in a forest. The grass felt fluffy and soft under his feet. Wait, where are my normal garments? The God of Thunder directed his blue eyes to the woman helping him carry his little brother, his face contorted with a deep frown, he was greatly confused. Mother knows her, she seems to know my brother (very well, by her interaction with him in the cell). She is really powerful, I never felt such strong aura. Who is she? Eve sighed softly, not wanting to explain to the brother of the man she is deeply worried about how they got involved. However, the pale woman understands why Thor is skeptical and sending her questioning looks every 4 seconds.
"I promise I will explain everything detailed later. After we make sure your brother is safe and taken care of" Eve informed him, her voice left no room for discussion. Thor nodded, and thanked her, to which she simply smiled.
They must've walked for about 30 minutes when he finally located her Temple. At least, what he assumed it was her Temple.
"Why...A cave?" Thor asked, to which she laughed. Birds sang happily when she did.
"Just the entrance. I am not about to have constant annoying visitors. I only attend to those whom I deem as deserving of my services"
As they entered furthermore inside the cave, the dark rocks turned into pale silver walls that had stories encrypted in every corner. The floor was even more fluffier than the grass outside, when he looked up, he met the sight of amazing -almost hypnotic- sharp crystals. Thor heard a huff, only to see an area with 3 peaceful Pegasus. He thought they were only allowed to Valkyries, the sight of the rare animals amazed him. There was furniture made of what it looked like mud, wood, and rocks.
"And my brother is?" Thor did not ask challengingly. He was honestly curious about how much his brother means to this woman. She captured the innocence behind the question, holding her tongue not to curse at the God of Thunder, Eve could tell he cares deeply for his little brother and is simply worried.
"Yes. Loki is probably the most deserving of them all" Eve answered, laying the God of Mischief down on what it looked like a bed of soft feathers "I will examine him now. However, this magic is too...bright for the eyes of any other species" Eve explained slowly, knowing Thor did not want to leave Loki alone for a second. He seemed to consider what she said for what it felt like an eternity, then finally nodded, leaving the room. Eve started to gather the ingredients necessary for the spell when she called loudly "There is a waterfall not far from here, go West. About 8 minutes. Bathe, and come back by nightfall" Eve commanded, once more, no room for discussion. Thor sighed and left the Temple in search of the waterfall.
As Eve mixed the mystical cure, her eyes captured the scars in Loki's chest. They weren't faint, in fact, it looked as if it did not had the time to heal properly. Her hands trembled, her eyes shined brightly with vengeance.
"I promise that I will destroy whoever touched you, my love" Eve promised.
And she is a woman of her words. Anyone who met the powerful being knew better than to upset her.
So already warning, in my AU Thor actually cares for Loki, even I came to the conclusion he doesn’t in the same manner as Loki but I decided in this story he should... Also, there’s my OC, hopefully the OC isn’t bad. It’s mostly Hurt/Angst and Comfort, as well as Romance. I don’t know if I will attempt to post in Archive of Our Own, but I am considering. I am currently writing chapter 8, but I’m feeling like no one cares for the story anymore lol and figured why not share here. the fanfic
#please don’t send hate if you hate it cause I already am embarrassed enough lol#loki#loki fanfic#loki au#avengers au#emphasis on AU#loki imagine#mcu loki#my oc story#well somewhat

Words: +3,400
Forced harshly before the self-proclaimed god, Y/N tried not to stumble over the heavy combat boots she wore, cursing over at Clint Barton who was the one who tricked her, but at least the archer sported a bloody nose & lip for his efforts. Watching the raven-haired god cock his greasy head at her, scepter in hand, almost as if he was listening to something & an evil smiling crossing his face.
Digging the heavy boots into the cement, Y/N made Clint halt, almost taking him to the floor with her, but the god was quick to remedy the situation. A crushing grip to Y/N’ bicep jerked large frame to stand in front of him, looking to Clint for an explanation.
“Tricked her into meeting me a few miles up the road, Y/N is a valuable asset. Knows her way around the battlefield better than any other I’ve met,” Clint explained wiping the blood off his face to come close.
“Asshole,” Y/N sneered at Clint before looking at Loki who continued to smile at her with a knowing look, but still looked as though he was listening to someone a slight chuckle passing cracked lips.
“Calm down pet. What do they call you,” Loki began, brow slick with a sickly sweat, the scepter moving dangerously close to the middle of ample breast, heart hammering hard.
“Fuck you,” Y/N bit out, moving to strike at the god.
Unfortunately, Loki was quicker, knocking her arm back with the scepter to jab it between her breast, a evil smirk, that faded when he looked into Y/E/C eyes & nothing happened. Moving the scepter to her ears, pushing loose Y/H/C away from her ears & smirking at something that apparently he noticed.
“Looks like you were right,” Loki breathed as if talking to someone else before thrusting Y/N back to Barton, barking an order to take the woman to his room to wait for when he had the time to properly address her.
Y/N puzzling at him, head spinning with what was happening as rough hands jerked her own behind her back a slid cuff clanging shut, covering from wrist to forearm tightly. Hissing out in pain when jerked backwards to stumble with Clint to be thrust into a windowless room with only a chase lounge against the wall, a fur throw draped over it as if it was just put in the room.
Taking her time, since it was obvious there was no leaving yet, to walk around the room, tugging at the manacle. It was making wrist raw as she continued, giving up on walking the room & taking a seat on the chase with at humph. Continuing to fidget with the metal that bound her, knowing it was cutting into soar flesh, but she had to get free. Jerking hard one last time, one arm jerking free in a scraped-up mess the moment the door opened to reveal the dazzling blue eyed Loki she had met earlier, lips curling into an evil grin when he seen what she had done.
“You are quite the little warrior aren’t you? Almost like you where born into it,” Loki commented stepping closer.
Watching Y/N as she remained seated, hearing heart pounding behind ample breast as he took a seat next to her, catching the wrist that was still locked in the heavy metal shackle, wielding it as a weapon.
“Now, now, that is no way to treat royalty is it, Y/N,” Loki began darkly, taking the wrist with the shackle to unlatch it, looking over the bloody wrist then hinting to the other held at her side.
“Now you're concerned about my well being,” Y/N snapped out harshly.
Fighting to jerk free as he reached for the other wrist, taking it with ease, jerking her forward to lock gazes, almost as if peering into her soul & once more listening, another evil smile. Y/N couldn’t help but to furrow her brow at him, studying his gaze, realizing that the eye color was like the ones he controlled, except they didn’t have the starry look. Something was off, this was off, it was all not sitting right, something else was going on, a power struggle of some sort.
“You see, Y/N TuathaDé, mind control... it’s tricky... but if the right persons, or gods, in this case play it carefully it can work to everyone’s advantage,” Loki spoke, watching Y/E/C eyes narrow at the mention of her last name, but his conversation was off, as if it wasn’t Loki talking.
“And you have decided to divulge this to me…. Why,” Y/N asked cautiously, looking down to realize that her wrist & forearms where healed as Loki gently let go.
“It is something that you need to keep in mind little warrior,” Loki smiled catching Y/N’ gaze, “it will serve you well when certain things are brought to light. When we meet… When I take you to the tower,” Loki, but not Loki spoke & correct himself quickly.
Cocking her head when his eyes flashed emerald but turned back blue but not as intense & giving a sly smirk before standing to his feet to look down at the puzzled woman.
“You know nothing of your family do you,” Loki, actually Loki asked quietly, Y/N looking up at him not sure what he meant.
“I was adopted by Peggy Carter when I was 5, but you know this, you learned it from Clint when you took control. I'm not ignorant, Loki of Asgard, brother of Thor,” Y/N bit out, getting to nervous feet to watch a sick smile spread across his features one that made her bones ache.
“Oh yes, you will do nicely,” Loki smirked turning quickly & leaving the room before she could retort.
Not much longer Y/N was retrieved by none other than Loki, minus the scepter, no explanation as he rushed in to retrieve her, as if late for an appointment. The teleport dizzying to say the least as they appeared in Stark tower. Hurrying to tug the struggling woman down the corridor to push Y/N into yet another room, but was gentle, as if not to bruise her.
Y/N jerking away violently, taken by surprise at the scene unfolding on the other side of the wall of glass. Aw struck by the invasion going on that it never registered Loki had spoken, jumping when the god grabbed quivering elbow, forced to turn & look up at him.
“What,” she snapped, watching him look over the suit in disgust, sneering at it, why did it bother him now?
“No, you're right…,” he began, obviously speaking to someone else at this point, “this does your thick curves no justice at all, but not to worry….”
The god letting go to allow Y/N to stumble back as gold light engulfed her, finally stopping when bare calves contacted the coffee table. Gawking down at the, well, she wasn’t sure, it looked like a teddy, but, it was made of a material that she hadn’t come across before. The thing was gold accented with burgundy while a golden pendant hung between heaving breast, an oval ruby that danced with life & had to be close to 4 inches long & 2 inches wide. Looking up at Loki in horror, realizing that this, it was..
“I'm your prize,” Y/N puzzled, frozen to the spot as he stepped forward, looking her over.
“Do you truly not know anything of your people,” he began once more, the god had been grilling her every chance he got about parents, family, lineage & the like.
“I’ve already fucking told you! Now answer….,” Y/N bit out with a snarl, pushing Loki away from her, the god taking a step back but unfazed by the action & how she stood glaring up at him.
“TuathaDé, tribe of the gods, a race of elvish fighters, warriors to the core, fighting to protect mortals from themselves. Beautiful charm your mother put on you by the way,” he commented to the bewildered woman.
Y/N trying to pull away before he could touch Y/H/C hair, grabbing a bicep to hold & running calloused fingers over the shell of her ear. Hand shooting up to it when he released it, filling the tips pointed & looking at him with panic-stricken eyes.
“What did you do,” Y/N began, but didn’t get to finish.
A loud explosion reverberated around the room, Y/N turning to look out the window to watch the aliens fall from the sky lifeless & realizing the hum of the tesseract was nonexistent. Turning to look up into emerald orbs, noting he didn’t look as demented, relieved & in control of himself.
“Stay put pet, I will be back shortly,” Loki spoke, meeting her gaze before turning to leave her alone in the room.
Looking down to the outfit once more, hand going to pointed ears, spotting the bathroom & running to it to look in the mirror. Gingerly touching over pointed ears to stand back & look at the garment. It left nothing to the imagination, hugging every curve in soft linen & stopping at lace covered cunt. Heart racing at the thoughts of what the god had planned for her, racing out to find something else to throw over her. Freezing like a deer in the headlights the moment the door opened, Loki & his helmet darkening the door way but looking off to the side.
“See? Tell him she is safe & waiting,” Loki began, the figure of Capt. America stepping forward, Y/N rushing towards him but pausing at the look of starry blue eyes, same as Clint.
The soldier nodding as the door slammed in her face, thunder sounding over head & at a loss to what to do, but to find a way out. Y/N wanted no part of this sick game, setting about looking around the room & once more the door opening. Pulled out if the frenzy of digging through a dresser drawer, to force herself to stop & turn to the doorway with dread.
This time Loki & one other, one other with a cape that matched the color of the thing she wore, a hammer at his side, golden hair to his shoulders.
“Thor,” Y/N breathed, how did she not realize these where his colors, having had met him in Puente Antiguo, New Mexico when she accompanied Colson & then he… he…
“It's nice to see you again Lady Y/N,” came the thunder gods deep voice, nodding to Loki who left while Thor stepped in to watch Y/N swallow hard.
“T..t..th..Thor,” Y/N stammered slightly, to much in panic to register that she needed to move, fight, but what could she do nothing against a god.
“What… what is all this? I thought you….,” Y/N continued to piece together, not backing down as he got closer, the god relieved, he hated to have to man handle her, ruin her.
“Oh, I am a good guy, as the mortals are so keen on calling me. I'm here to save earth to protect it from Thanos. My brother Loki & I found the perfect way of doing so, of turning the titans own tricks against him. You see… mind control… it's tricky… but if the right… gods play it carefully…,” Thor began, Y/N realizing that he was the one talking to Loki, the blonde god stopping at the look of realization in Y/E/C eyes.
“You, you were speaking through Loki?! You where…,” Y/N stammered, trying to step back but sluggish brain got the best of her.
Thor quick to snatch naked biceps to hold her in front of him, pushing the stunned creature to the window. Y/N looking out at the dying chaos before looking back into ocean blues that dilated when they locked gazes, the blonde god’ gaze raking over thick frame, making her fill even more bare than she already was.
“You see, Lady Y/N. Mind control, well it's tricky, as Midgardians would say; mind control is a bitch,” Thor spoke darkly.
Hurriedly jerking Y/N from the window to drag her with a yelp to the bed, flinging her to the mattress, looking down to drink in thick curves & juicy cunt. The way he looked over the scantily clad body before him told Y/N this was all planned.
“You're working with Loki! You… the …,” Y/N stammered, watching him remove armor still not comprehending until it hit the tile.
“We work together Y/N, have since before I fell to Midgard. The only one who stood in our way of the galaxy, the universe was Thanos & now we have him. We have turned his own against him, as well as collected all five of his precious stones,” Thor smirked.
Run Y/N, get up & run, you know what this is RUN! Y/N shouted in her head, taking a shaky scrambling jolt back across the bed to get away but he was quick. Bruising grip to bare ankles making her yell out at him to let go to which he just smirked darkly. Jerking hard enough to force her to the mattress & towards him to make, breath leaving her body while a scorching one fell between thick thighs.
“Don’t fight this dove. You're to be my queen when we return to Asgard, when I take the throne from my father & Loki takes his in Jotunheim, it will be as it was meant,” Thor spoke darkly, bowing over Y/N, catching slender wrist in one massive hand, pinning them above her head, & pressing his nose into the crook of soft neck to inhale sharply.
“You even smell like a warrior elf,” he breathed out, filling her struggling stop, siting up to look into troubled Y/E/C orbs.
“I'm not, I'm mortal, I'm…,” Y/N stammered, why did they keep insisting she was…
“No mere mortal causes me to have to hold them with all my strength little warrior.”
Holy fuck, he had been watching her the entire time, talking to her though Loki.
“I see your panic, but I need you to calm down for me dove,” Thor breathed onto her lips.
The brawny god watching a tear seep down her temple, the hand on trembling ankle releasing to trail up shivering body, pushing the teddy up on it's way but traveling to the pointed ear, ghosting a calloused finger over it tracing it like a lover.
“You are so much more than any mortal could ever dream of being, my queen,” Thor spoke.
A calloused hand traveling back down & between thick thighs. Forefinger looping in the crouch of the panties, knuckle ghosting core & causing a shuttering breath. A cold shiver going up her spine when he ripped them free, letting out a whimper of fear while locking gazes.
“This will go easy it you allow it,” Thor began, the sound & motions of him freeing himself echoing through the room to fill her with dread.
Y/N began mentally preparing for what was about to happen, gasping out when two digits plunged into unprepared core without warning, granting the god the perfect opportunity to take parched lips in a bruising kiss, tongue pushing past quivering lips to taste of her.
Fingers thrusting in & out of slickening cunt, Y/N hating herself for the way her body was reacting, hips bucking for more when a calloused thumb began to rub lightly over throbbing clit. Head falling back to the mattress when he released puffy lips, gasping for air but cursing at him.
Shuddering when ample hips bucked up to him involuntary, tears falling down sweaty temples & over pointed ears as she whimpered for him to stop. The god trailing kisses down quivering jaw, a nip of teeth at tender throat making her yelp in surprise. Thick body jerking, falling to the mattress relived he removed his fingers, but only to slam leaking cock into wet cunt in one motion.
“I'm in a rush dove, I promise I will be gentler once we are in Asgard,” he hushed into her ear, not giving velvet folds time to adjust, Y/N yelping out at the burn, swearing Thor was tearing tender cunt to shreds while mercilessly pounding in & out of throbbing hole.
Y/N head falling to the side, heart racing, breath hitching, tears staining the mattress as sharp teeth bit hard at tender neck, but squeezing eyes shut & allowing the god to finish. Thanking whatever god was watching that he spilled in her womb quickly, a deep thrust & grunt bringing Y/N out of the place she sent her mind to. Slowly looking up into calm azure eyes as praises fell from his lips for taking him like a obedient queen while trailing kisses from puffy lips, down tender, bitten throat to between ample breast, golden locks ticking the flesh to make her shudder at the tickle.
The trembling creature venturing to look down & realize he had ripped the teddy from her at some point. The god sliding out gently, Y/N letting out a whimper at the pain the motion caused, finally releasing bruised wrist but remaining motionless. Y/E/C orbs staring at Thor as he fastened the leather pants, calling Mjolnir to place it on his side & began to dawn sparkling armor, but throwing the cape to the mattress next to her.
Y/N was shattered, all she ever thought was good, believed in, was pissed away in the few moments it took for him to take her & spill into her. The reminder trickling from between spread bruised legs while a lifeless gaze followed him closely. This time his grasp tender as he reached down to bruised arms to pull aching body up to sit & sling the cape around shivering shoulders.
Y/N felt more of the god leak out of aching cunt as Thor pulled her to unsteady feet. The blonde making sure the cape was wrapped & covering her nudity before looping one arm around her back the other at the back of her knees. The lifeless woman collapsing into strong arms as he lifted her to armored chest.
“I promise you little warrior, I am a gentle lover,” he hushed down to the creature that shivered in his arms as he started out of the room & down the corridor.
The Avengers coming into view when they entered into the open area, an emerald eyed Loki standing with them, but wait where was…
“Did you take care of Stark brother,” Thor asked quietly.
Watching in horror as the raven-haired god hinted to Captain America, or this case Steve, devoid of his helmet but still sporting starry blue eyes & brandishing an arc reactor dripping with blood along with his glove, suit splattered as well. Eyes widening at the sight, looking to the remaining team, Natasha, Clint & pondering after…
“Sent the beast to Sakaar,” Loki spoke darkly, obvious the two where in on a plan she wasn’t.
“I hate you,” Y/N breathed out, turning into the blonde god to hide her eyes, hair falling away from pointed ear.
“You’ll learn to love us pet,” came Loki’ voice closer now, Y/N turning to realize he looked down at her, fingers reaching out to ghost over pointed ear, pupils dilating, making her shiver.
“You two..,” she began but a deep chuckle from Thor’ chest made her jump, looking up at him.
“Norns no! We are brothers,” the god spat in disgust, “we are not heathens nor are we lovers!”
“But,” Loki began getting her attention.
“It has been discussed that because of the lack of royal diversity on Asgard that you are more than worthy to bare the royal heirs of both Asgard & Jotunheim,” Loki smiled darkly, watching a shiver make its way through her, trembling arms reaching up to cling to Thor when it seemed apparent Loki was to take her into his arms.
“Relax lover, I want have you till you produce an heir for Thor, which want be long,” Loki chuckled, pulling Y/N from Thor to hold her to his chest, the panicked creature looking back to the blonde god before hiding Y/E/C orbs once more.
“I’ll take her on to Asgard. The throne will be ready for you when you return, as will your wife,” Loki admitted.
The raven-haired god bowing slightly before turning to carry her out of the building, knowing if he betrayed Thor & took Y/N before his time the thunderous god would destroy Jotunheim on his way back from Midgard.
“Make sure the healers see her, I will finish here before I return,” Thor commented after the two before turning back to the remaining team to delve out their tasks.

The Embassy Part 3 A Thorki Fanfiction by Magalona
Hello there ! Finally there will be another chapter... The third was to big. Enjoy !
Thor had expected a sweet night of passion, he ended up with a crazy wild cat, hissing, spitting, trying to gouge his eyes out…
Loki was fighting as if his life depended on it. He was screaming and hitting. Completely insane. After a few more seconds of fight, Thor managed to grab him and lay him on the bed, holding his wrists above his head and, doing so, made a parody of a forced lovemaking and created even more terror… Loki's horror was complete. His throat constricted and he remained open-mouthed, unable to form a word, a flood of tears on his cheeks, like a small child making a tantrum. And Thor couldn't help but notice that anyone would have looked ugly in this situation. It only made Loki more beautiful to his eyes…
“CALM ! DOWN !” Thor didn't want to scream but Loki was making such a racket he was unable to hear anything. It made Loki freeze and look at Thor with absolute distress. It simply broke the Thunderer's heart. “Please...” Thor said in a softer tone. “Please... Just calm down, okay ? I won't hurt you...” But everything in Loki's eyes yelled that Thor was a liar. Thor clenched his teeth. Nothing of this mess made any sense. Loki was willing one second and looked at Thor as if he was trash or worse the next ? Incomprehensible. Thor was known to be impulsive and not much of a brain user. If he had not inherited his mother's cleverness and wisdom, he still had her sense of empathy and sensibility. He wasn't stupid. There was something really wrong and he needed to know what. But he wouldn't get any answers from Loki in the state he was in. He stepped back, hands above him as if threatened by a sword. “See ? I am not touching you, right ? So, now, calm down. Please. ” He slowly moved from the bed. Loki, still sniffling, raised himself on his elbows, unsure of the outcome. He kept a watchful eye on Thor. “I won't do anything, Little One… Please...” Loki sighed and seemed to relax a bit. A relative bit. He was still looking at Thor as if ready for an eventual attack. Loki breathed a last time, gradually getting back to normal. “Please.” He said in a calm but trembling voice. “I don't want to do it...” Thor felt a pang of anger, disappointment, confusion and sadness all at once. “But… You came !” Deep inside, he knew he was sounding ridiculous and childish. Thor knew perfectly well anyone had a right to change his or her mind at any time. But, whatever he was feeling right here and now for Loki, he had never felt before. He had no idea it was only possible... The deception of realizing they were not reciprocated was painful... “I … I...” The beautiful creature was losing it. None of his reactions made sense. Actually, Thor didn't know the storm raging inside Loki's brain. He had gone to Thor's room like he would have marched to the scaffold. Once in front of the catalysis of his horror, all his carefully pretended carelessness was blown out. Panic was making his heart pound like a hammer. His mind that was usually composed and rational was now totally erratic. In presence of Thor, he had no leverage. Which was probably the reason why he started blabbering against himself, as if someone was talking with his mouth. Had he been in a normal situation he wouldn't have been spilling the beans like that...
“They made me ! You are the Mighty Thor but they wanted me to.. to... I can't ! I'm sorry but I can't ! I'm supposed to... Occupy you or something but... How could you have done this ? They did nothing to you !!” Loki was so confused he was yelling nonsense. Thor understood yet one thing and it was devastating. Someone had forced Loki into this. Loki never consented. Worse, he seemed to hate Thor, for some reason... He felt his heart break. He actually felt little pieces of cold flesh falling in his chest, making it turn into ice. “I see.” He calmly said, rising of the bed. Then Loki realized what he had just done. He had just told his worst enemy his brothers' plans for their country in order to survive. He had ruined everything that had been so carefully prepared in less than 10 minutes. He had made Thor even worse and set against his people than he already was. He had doomed them all. Now, Thor was going to destroy Jotünheim thanks to Loki the useless runt prince... Loki lost it totally. The abject fear made him jump out of the bed and throw himself around Thor's legs. Grabbing his knees from behind, literally crawling and begging, the terror being so overwhelming he didn't realize this was unbecoming to his station. In fact, he was beyond all of this, he didn't care anymore. If Thor wanted his life to restore his pride, then be it... “PLEASE ! Please, hear me out !” Loki was screaming in desperation though he had no idea how to stop this disaster. “Please ! Do not harm my brothers ! Do not ruin this, please ! I am begging you, my country...” He was scratching at Thor's calves. That actually woke Thor up. He softly grabbed a sobbing Loki by the shoulders and did a very unexpected thing.
He put him on his knees like a very big child and held him on his chest for comfort.
Loki stopped crying and pleading at once. He was in shock. He had his nose on Thor's shoulder blade. He could smell the musky male scent of his soft skin. He was amazed to feel it so nice. Being colorless, he thought it should be disgustingly flabby but no. It was almost silky. Thor's large hand was resting on Loki' nape. It was heavy and warm. It could have felt like a humiliating gesture of dominance. Right now, it was soothing Loki's nerves. Loki was surprised to find himself almost ready to go to sleep. Thor's body was unexpectedly warm and comforting. “Better, Little One ?” Thor murmured. “Yes...” Loki answered shyly. “I am sorry... I'm” He tried again. Thor shushed him and caressed the stiff neck. Loki yielded to the incredible comfort. For the first time in his life, he realized that he was being held. Truly being held to be reassured and soothed. No one took him on his knees and arms before, not even his nannies. They couldn't get too close to him. He was a runt but a prince before everything else and, most of all, above them all. The closeness was a very first. And who would have known that his most terrible opponent would be good at it ?
****
Some blissfully long minutes passed without even the sound of the crackling fire being heard. “My Lord, I...” Loki tried again. This hugging was pleasurable but he had to stop it and make Thor understand. He had to be sure... “Thor.” Cut the Thunderer, but without impatience. “Thor.” Meekly repeated Loki “I beg you to forgive me, to forgive my brothers... My country needs us to...” “Hush, Little One.” Thor murmured against Loki's hair. Their perfumed scent was intoxicating and it was an ordeal for Thor not to manhandle Loki and... But he still had some gray cells left. “There is nothing to forgive. You were only acting as you were told to. You have nothing to fear from me.” “But, my brothers... Jotünheim … ?” Loki couldn't believe he was that lucky to be spared the Thunder God's wrath. Thor sighed. “Loki, I am vexed but I am not that petty. I will do nothing that would provoke another war. If your brothers play their part, I shall play mine.” Loki was astonished. Thor seemed sincere. And tired, very tired. Probably disappointed too, but not plotting a bloody revenge. Loki sighed of relief. “I am so very grateful... Thor.” He tried. They remained silent for a few minutes. Not knowing what to do with each other, not knowing if they had to grab the remains of their dignities on the ground and march their opposite paths or stay and pretend that something was not happening between them both. Whatever it might be...
“I am still very sorry for not doing... What you expected me to do...” Loki insisted. Thor gave a tiny laugh. “I'll survive, Little One. The question is what are we both going to do ?” Loki pondered this. Indeed, no matter how long he had stayed there, his brothers weren't too discreet about the fact that their baby brother had been summoned to Thor's chambers for the night. It was an open secret and everybody will pretend nothing happened and that they didn't hear nor see anything for appearance's sakes.
But both Asgard and the Jötnar legacy would know that Loki had been alone with Thor long enough to consider the Jotünn Prince as Thor's new concubine.
Rules regarding mating were looser in Asgard than in Jotünheim. Common-law marriages and “menages” were rather ordinary and considered as a harmless way of life. Concerning the Royals, they could gladly take anyone they fancied. Even hostile realms could be proud that one of their elite had been successfully throwing himself or herself at one of the ruling Asgardian feet. Everyone could gain something valuable in the bargain. So everyone was happy and closing their eyes on this obvious diplomatic high-class prostitution. Loki realized he had been part of an hypocritical system based on people's lust and stupidity. Or maybe on everyone's opportunism. Politics were a bitch, really...
Anyway, by the fact that he had gone to Thor's room and stayed there, even for a short time, had made him the next hot topic in court. No one would stress on the fact that his brothers almost dragged him there... The deed was done but, unknown to all and especially to Loki's brothers, not completed. If anyone knew that Loki and Thor did nothing but talk, they would be in trouble. Having sex was harmless, talking could imply double play, spying activities, treachery, anything that could be suspicious... The situation between Asgard and Jötunheim was holding up by a thin thread and a fragile truce. The least tiny rumor could provoke another war. Loki had been sure that his brothers wanted to secure a lasting peace, whatever the cost (including their brother's chastity) and he had actually believed that Thor desperately wanted another go at the blood bath. He was right in a way for the second point. But what Loki couldn't know right now was that Thor's carefully controlled little world was currently falling apart... Thor, on his side, never had to think hard to protect his status or even more his life. He had taken everything for granted. He was not dumb, he was born with a silver spoon of gargantuan dimensions in his mouth. So he had some excuses for being blind, death and mute...
For the first time in his life, Thor had been told “No.” For the first time in his life, he felt he had been actually told the truth.
And now, while Loki was thinking of easy ways that could help him and Thor to get of this mess without any more aggravation, Thor was silently making a review of his former liaisons. And what he was remembering gave him shivers at the light of the recent incident. He remembered a handsome Einherjar with dark hair and blue eyes and a dashing smile Thor never entirely forgot. He had been much younger then. He had been swept off his feet and had a sweet time of unrelenting passion. Then one day, his lover mentioned a position in the Northerner garrison that seemed interesting. In a by-the-way tone of voice. Wanting to please his beloved, Thor endeavored to obtain the situation for him. And when it was secured, the Einherjar had come with tears on his face and a sad smile that he had to go there earlier than expected for he feared that Odin All-Father suspected something about their relationship. Thor had swallowed this and had let his lover go, totally distraught. He had never heard of him since... Thor now realized that, whether that man had feelings for him or not, he had fooled him for social climbing. Years later, on another occasion (and that brought horror in Thor's heart), there had been that Vanir Duke's young daughter. A redhead with misty green eyes. Thor recalled how shaky she was the first time he had invited her to his room. Thor remembered now the tremor in her voice when she told him she loved him. The strange facial expressions she had in bed...
In the light of Loki's attitude, he realized the girl had been forced to go to Thor for diplomatic reasons. Probably for a chance of becoming the next queen, or at least the official mistress. Exactly like Loki.
Thor now understood what had really happened with those two. But how many others ? How many came to him with an agenda or pressured to go ? He could almost see some of them with trembling smiles and cast down eyes. Thor had thought then that they were shy or impressed. Although they were probably as terrified as Loki. That also explained why some of them, mostly the younger girls, went away so fast once Thor made it clear he was not ready to marry yet... Thor was feeling dirty from head to toes, as if he had been drenched in mud and filthy water... He was wondering what in the Norns' names in his sentimental life was real after all...
Loki moved his head from Thor's shoulders to look at Thor's eyes. “Are you angry with me ?” Thor woke up from his dreary thoughts. The bright red lights were fixed on him with anxiety. They were the present and Thor was currently sticking his head in the past. “No, Little One... I was just thinking.” He caressed Loki's silky dark hair. “What are we going to do ?” Loki said then hesitated. “... Thor ? Do you want me to leave ?” Thor continued his caresses, lost in his mind. “No, you are staying with me tonight.” Loki trembled under Thor's hand. He sadly smiled. “Fear not, Little One. We can share one bed and simple sleep in it. I won't do a thing...” Loki breathed more easily. It made sense. No need to sneak out to his room in confusion and shame. He would have had no intimacy there. He would be tracked down and interrogated by his brothers the minute he stepped out of Thor's rooms. He would be spied on and surrounded by voracious courtiers, greedy for juicy details the next day... And he would be expected to lie and keep lying until he finally came back home. If they let him go back home... A cold thought crossed his mind he quickly suppressed. He was surprised to realize that Thor's bedroom was the safest place he could be. Thor's presence, maybe his only security. “You want us to pretend we are... That we did...” Thor smiled sadly. “Your brothers are assholes. They knew what they were doing and I am perfectly sure they had spread the word about tonight. They are going to brag and demand favors to my father. Oh, in a subtle manner, of course, but my father will make some concessions to avoid your father's anger. If they think I have seduced a Jötunn prince... They could go to war again to save your honor.”
Loki felt as if Thor's words had struck him like a lightning. In seconds, he knew exactly what his family had planned. He had to keep under control a need to vomit.
“Little One ? Are you alright ?” Thor panicked seeing Loki turn pale gray again. Loki clenched his teeth. “ Thor, Farbauti will not be offended. Or at least, he will pretend to be offended and so will Laufey, my mother. They will exactly know what to do to blackmail your father and play the victims here. It was their trap, Thor. It wasn't my brothers' idea …” Or maybe it was probably Býleistr's, Loki thought, but he had no proof. “It was my parents'. They set everything up to turn the peace treaty in their favor...” Thor paled. It did make sense. He sighed heavily. “Clever. We are stuck.” He grimly said. Loki tried to think at light-speed. And then, inspiration. “No, we are not.” He calmly said, now back into control. “We need to turn the trick against them.” Thor looked at Loki, not comprehending. “They expect you to hide our little tryst. They think you are going to be ashamed of bedding me and will leave me once you get tired of my body. Then, they will cry rape and want to publicly accuse you for defiling me. So, we mustn't hide. We must pretend we are lovestruck and parade around. You are to pretend you are madly in love with me and worship me.” Loki was excited. He was going to teach his family a lesson in manipulation. “You are going to give me all the respect due to a royal consort and act as if we are officially bounded. If I am publicly recognized as a concubine, there is no offense ! We can be one of your short-term common-law marriages !” Indeed, there was a law in Asgard allowing couples to contract a bound for a year or two that helped them see if they were fit to be married for good. It they weren't, they could separate without bitterness and their rights intact. “So, they won't say a thing for you'll be honoring Jötunheim without degrading yourself. Our little show will be the proof that an union is possible between our realms and my parents will be muzzled for good !” Loki was almost clapping his hands for joy. He was so relieved at what his cleverness had concocted that he didn't notice Thor's sad smile. “So, we'll have to pretend we're in love ?” Loki happily nodded. Still unaware of Thor's bittersweet mood. “You don't mind, do you ?” Loki finally said, realizing that something was off with Thor. “I would have thought of something else but... It is the easiest way to avoid another conflict or any humiliation on either side.” Thor gave a hearty laugh. “You are a very clever little one ! You are right, that's the easy way. We'll do as you said but can we go to bed now ? I am exhausted...” Loki was astonished. This was the bloody monster he had seen butchering his own ? He looked older, tired. Far more less impressive than the last time. He was casually undressing as if Loki wasn't here anymore. Keeping only his breeches, Loki couldn't help but notice the broad shoulders, the finely muscled back. He surprised himself by feeling a tingle of warmth. He had no idea what it meant. “You mean... Go to sleep ?” “What else ?” Thor laughed. “Let's start the party. Let's go to bed and stay there until morning. When the servants will come tomorrow, they'll see I am not alone and the set will be in motion !” Thor carelessly threw his shirt on a chair and hoped on the bed. He patted the covers on his side. “Come on, Little one. It's very late and we'll need to be fresh and alert tomorrow ! We need a well deserved sleep to catch the little plotters !” Loki meekly came. He was back to his fears, although rather muffled. He was determined to keep his nightshirt. He felt better about Thor but he did not entirely trust him. He snuggled under the covers next to his warmth. But nothing more occurred on this particular night.
Except that Loki was actually sleeping with someone for the first time ever in his young life.
****
On the next morning, the servants knew his Highness had spent quite an agreeable night (nothing new, there.) and that his current love affair had not left the building yet (now, that was something quite rare...). Needless to say, when they discovered in the bed the Runt Prince's fluffy dark hair and his red eyes with marks underneath, proofs of his Highness' virility, they almost dropped the breakfast tray.
Everything went very fast. Thor acted like a satisfied macho man during breakfast, making a fuss of a shy and embarrassed Loki all the time the servants were cleaning up the place. They got dressed (but Loki avoided taking a bath at the same time Thor's did) and went to the great hall for the morning meeting. Loki had his heart in his heels all the way to it. Once in the hall, it was like a public proclamation of their bound. Loki was dark blue with confusion. Coming and being announced together was a display of what they wanted people to believe. It was as if Thor was proclaiming to all asunder “Look what I have shagged tonight !” Loki was not really ashamed but he wanted to hide. Especially when he saw his brothers' infuriated faces. This was not going the way they intended it to be. They had told Loki to leave, once the dirty business done, so that they could complain the “forced maiden's” sob story. And now their carefully prepared plans were totally ruined and they were not the happy bunny. Curiously, Loki lacked courage in front of them. He couldn't confront them yet. But he took a deep breath and ignored their furious glares. Of course, Thor insisted for Loki to sit next to him. Which wasn't planned by protocol.
Loki had nothing to fear from his brothers, for Thor was not leaving his side for one second. He was casually holding Loki's shoulders with one arm, or his hand, as he would his spouse. He was clearly displaying Loki. But as long as they were together, neither Býleistr nor Helblindi could approach him. As for the rest of the assembly and Thor's parents, they were indeed in shock. Frigga was very much displeased. She had guessed her son was highly interested in the Jötnar prince but she had no idea he would make his move so fast ! Now, they would have to mix private affairs with political and public ones and she simply hated that. She hoped that, at least, this surprising alliance would prove that a rapprochement with the two countries was indeed possible. Odin was fuming. His damn son and his damn d... He couldn't believe that he was again stuck in his love mess. And worse, Farbauti's bastard ?! That mini-giant lurking in his palace ?! How could his own son have so much bad taste ?! Norns ! This embassy was turning into a nightmare with his son getting involved with the worst suitor EVER ! He was clutching at his spear Gungnir so hard he could have broken it. Frigga, who knew him as her soul-mate, had to give a look that said “Let me deal with this.” It helped Odin to breathe. Frigga was the mistress of damage control. He just hoped there wasn't not too much damage right now.
To say that the day was a turning point was an understatement. Asgardian were shocked that the Prince was so carefree. That he was an insatiable lover and wanted many encounters was certainly renown and no one dared to question him that. He was not yet married after all... But he had a duty to the realm and the fact that he paraded around with the crippled child of Asgard's mortal foe was incomprehensible... Loki had felt his heart beating wildly in his chest all day long. He had felt the heavy looks of the whole court and the daggers his brothers' eyes were constantly throwing at him. Everyone everywhere were an enemy to him, or at least an antagonist. And yet he had never felt so safe, as long Thor was near. Not in his whole life. Thor was not leaving his side, making him talk at the council and asking for his opinion. It gave Loki surprised glances from the members for no one would have thought the runt would also have had a bright mind. Loki became a subject of admiration after the awe his new suspicious status gave him... Thor made him drink from his own glass, eat from his own plate and from his favorite dishes. Thor made him sit next to him every time, danced only with him in the evening... Only one moment, Thor really had to leave him alone for his mother wanted a private chat with him. Loki braced himself. Even with Thor's Einherjar bodyguards, he knew his brothers were coming at him full force. He had to be ready...
****
Frigga was massaging her temples. They were hurting bad as they did every time she was stressed, confused or angry. What her son said was not she was expecting to hear. “Are you sure they were going to use that boy to put pressure on us ?” Even for her, it sounded too cruel. She, most of all, knew what ruling a kingdom entailed. Sacrifices, compromising, ugly little deals that make you feel sick and dirty but... This ? Selling your own flesh and blood ? “If Loki had been female, they would have proposed her to you in decent matrimony... But him being a male and knowing your tastes...” She gave a hard look at his son who had the decency to look ashamed. “It was easy to lure you...” “Mother, I have it under control. Loki and I will play our part. We will see that Jötunheim will be settled with honors and peace will prevail...” Frigga sighed. “This idea is not so bad. We'll have a secured peace without too much compromises. They'll be forced to maintain their greediness under control... But what about you, son ?” “What about me ?” Thor tried to remain aloof. Frigga's expression told him she was not going to be fooled. “And that boy, Thor ?” She insisted. “His name is Loki and what about him, mother ?” “Do your really believe his brothers will calmly accept the fact he had betrayed them ?”
****
Here they were, all anger and self-righteousness. Helblindi was so red he looked about to burst. Býleistr was so pale he looked almost white but Loki knew it was also out of rage. They were walking towards him as if ready to trample him down. “You bastard...” Hissed Helblindi in his face. “You thought you were going to run away with this ?”
