Dunno if you're interested in hearing any thoughts on your dust post for the rwby au but if you're interested I don't think the lightning dust is as useless as you say under your rules. I mean sure yeah its not used for big things like central heating or ac but presumably it would still be useful for things like personal electronics or other devices? I mean I assume people still like to listen to music and watch silly videos. Or they could have a car with a navigation system that needs electricity. Or even just a TV, right? Just some thoughts I think your dust system works just fine

I already had things like TV's and scrolls primarily being powered by Hard light Dust, but you gave me the idea of lightning dust being paired with other types of dust to control it and to make it react to itself. I came up with the idea of scrolls, rather than being designed similarly to real world smart phones, actually being created as a faster alternative to snail male and we're originally designed to be written on before used for audio communication, but I wasn't sure how that would work unless I made up some new rules about hard light dust, but if we take that lightning Dust pairing idea and run with it, we could have the lighting dust in the scrolls react to the dust TCC towers and allow for faster communication via the scrolls.
