#m#obviously i am exaggerating. but im grumpy#there are REASONS FOR THESE THINFS !!!!!!!#some of the more recent ones like thomas lacailles do seem a little silly i will admit. we can make fun of horologium etc a little bit#ill accept that#but the ancient ones hold IMPORTANT INFORMATION and STORIES and CULTUREEE#everybody shut up about constellations if you haven't thought about them for more than like 5 minutes in your life i beg#AND WHAT WE SEE AS THE “OFFICIAL” CONSTELLATION IS NOT THE ONLY FORM IT HAS TAKEN THROUGHOUT HISTORY#because the IAU is also factoring in the meaning of a constellation being a Designated Area Of Sky so there have to be strict borders#for organisational reasons#you dont get ittt
