Dream Vacation
By: SassyShoulderAngel319
Fandom/Character(s): Vine/YouTube/Thomas Sanders
Rating: G
Original Idea: @moonlight-lyrics asked if I’d make the dream she had into a one-shot!
Notes: (Masterlist)(About Me) Yes the title is a play on the request type---fight me I thought it was funny. This was interesting. It’s been a while since I wrote in second person. Still, hope you enjoy! (It’s also slightly longer than usual. That seems to happen a lot with requests.)
“Dream Vacation”
^^^^^
You browse Tumblr boredly, scrolling down your dash. You’ve passed the same post three or four times now and you're starting to wonder if you're having déjà vu or you're just falling asleep.
You're jarred from your rabbit hole of spiraling thoughts by your mother calling your name.
You look up and jump to go answer her call. The tone of her voice made you curious. She sounded excited. You were sure there was plenty that could make your mom excited, but what was it that she wanted to involve you in?
“What’s up?” you ask curiously, joining her.
“I just got a call from your aunt,” she replies with a mischievous grin that you definitely inherited from her.
“Uh… which one?”
“The one in Florida.”
For a moment, you're concerned. You rarely hear from that aunt—given the distance and all. But the look on your mom’s face suggests that it’s not a bad thing, so at least you know that your aunt probably isn’t hurt. You're pretty sure your mom wouldn’t be excited about that.
“Why’d she call?” you inquire.
“She wants you to come stay with her for a couple weeks!” your mom announces.
A smile splits up your face and you squeal. It has been way too long since you’d seen your aunt! Plus, FLORIDA! What was it nicknamed again? The Sunshine State? That would certainly be a welcome break from the rain you’d been experiencing.
“That’s awesome! When do I get to go?”
“In a week. So we gotta start getting you packed up just to make sure we don’t forget anything. She said she’d send a list of things you should bring, but let’s throw some clothes in your suitcase first.”
Feeling your heart racing, you follow your mom to your room and help her pack.
^^^^^
The plane ride was long. You weren’t sure how long, but it seemed to last forever. Partially because you had a long way to travel, and partially because you were so excited to see your aunt and be in Florida. Maybe you’d even go to the beach! You tried to get some sleep, but even for your small stature you were a bit cramped—not to mention the old lady next to you was snoring so loud it sounded like a saw on a tree trunk.
Needless to say, you were glad when the plane landed. You grab your carry-on bag—a backpack with three books in it and several kinds of snacks—and get off the plane. You blink in the sudden harsh white lights of the airport and follow the signs to the exit area where your aunt should be waiting for you.
She is. She greets you by calling your name, holding up a poster board with glitter spelling your name. You run down the escalator in the airport and across the roped-off area to get to her.
Both of you nearly topple over as you throw your arms around her.
“It’s so good to see you!” she exclaims as she drops her sign to her side and leads you over to the baggage claim to get your suitcase.
“You too!” you enthuse.
The two of you chat idly while you wait for your suitcase to spin around on the carousel. You find out that her dog is still alive and well but she’s moved to a smaller house than before so she doesn’t have to clean so much.
But mostly she asks about you—how you're doing, what you're up to, that kind of thing. You eagerly supply answers, filling her in on years of your life.
Once you get your suitcase, you wheel it out to her car and she drives you both from the airport to her house. It’s a bit of a long drive, but you enjoy the scenery. The house is pale yellow and semi-attached to the one next to it. You take your suitcase inside. In the living room, your aunt has set up an air mattress with a bedsheet and duvet over the top.
Your aunt instructs you to sleep. You gladly obey. The flight was long and you need to adjust to the time zone.
^^^^^
When you wake, you're struck by how quiet it is. You feel well-rested but something doesn’t seem right. Why is it so quiet?
You get off the air mattress and brush out your hair. As you're finishing, it hits you.
Your aunt’s dog. If he wasn’t barking, then the nametag on his collar was jingling as he plodded around. But there’s nothing.
You call your aunt’s name.
“Yeah?” she shouts from upstairs.
“Where’s Sparks?” you ask.
“Oh he’s probably with the Sanders boy next door,” your aunt dismisses offhandedly. “If you want to play with him you’ll have to go knock and check. He lives on the other side of the wall. If Sparks isn’t there he’s probably napping under the tree out back.”
You blink, staring at the front door. Sanders… Florida… dogs… could it… could it be?
No. It was probably just a coincidence.
Still…
You decide to go investigate.
Taking a deep breath, you walk out into the Florida heat. It’s probably not actually all that hot, but the humidity makes it feel hotter than it is. The air is muggy and seems to cling to the inside of your lungs as you inhale and exhale. The sun is bright and there’s a light breeze—which is welcome since it’s cooler than the rest of the stagnant air.
You cross the shared wall to the other door. For a moment you stand still on the front step, one hand raised and poised to knock.
Your curiosity gets the better of you. Even if your aunt’s next-door neighbor isn’t who you think it is, you wouldn’t mind playing with Sparks a little. The dog hasn’t seen you in years and could do with getting used to you again.
Knock, knock, knock, knock! You rap your knuckles sharply on the wooden front door.
Barking meets your ears. You hear little feet patter over a floor and then scrape against the other side of the door. You smile. Looks like you found Sparks.
The door opens. A man is bent down, holding the collar of the familiar yellow dog.
The first thing you notice about the man is that his hair is… purple. There are hints of brown underneath it but mostly it’s purple. He’s wearing a red shirt with a big yellow star plastered across the middle and jeans. “Whoa, whoa! Down, Sparks,” he commands the dog with a voice deeper than you expected. He looks up at you with brown eyes and smiles. “Sorry about him. He’s my neighbor’s—”
“I know,” you interrupt, trying really hard not to freak out. “He just hasn’t seen me in a while so he’s excited. I'm her niece.” You kneel down and let Sparks take a single bound to you. He licks your face over and over. Over the dog’s shoulders and excited barking, you stick your hand out to the man and introduce yourself, giving your name while trying not to reveal that you're a big Fander.
He shakes your hand. “I'm Thomas,” he introduces himself.
You smile, not wanting to lie. “I know. I've seen your Vines and YouTube videos and stuff. I had no idea my aunt was your next-door neighbor.”
He looks surpsied. “Aw! You know about me?” he asks, looking both flattered and excited—the expression on his face calls to mind his character, Patton. Your grin widens and you nod. “Well it’s a pleasure to meet you!” He glances back into his house. “Would you like to come in for a little while? I'm filming a video but when I'm done I’ll finally get a chance to play with Sparks. Maybe you can keep him quiet until I'm done?”
You snort. “I'm not sure about keeping this bundle of energy quiet, but I can certainly try,” you comment.
He beckons you inside. You cross the threshold with Sparks trying to jump on you the whole time. “Down, Sparks,” Thomas orders again. This time the big yellow dog listens and keeps his paws on the carpet, though you can tell he doesn’t want to.
You watch Thomas finish his video while sitting behind the camera tripod with Sparks on your lap. You pet his head until he calms down, so he doesn’t bark while the camera is recording. Thomas barely looks at you as he talks about his new hair color and reminds everyone about some upcoming things that are happening while you scratch Sparks behind the ears.
After an enthusiastic, “Take it easy guys, gals, and non-binary pals—peace out!” he turned off the camera and plopped onto the floor, looking tired.
Sparks bounded off your lap and into his—nearly knocking the tripod over.
After another couple minutes of awkward interaction, the two of you felt comfortable enough to talk about something other than the dog. Although, you suspect he could talk about dogs for the rest of his life without running out of things to say.
It’s cute.
“So, tell me about yourself,” he requests. Even though he’s looking at Sparks, not you, you assume he’s speaking to you, not Sparks.
So you tell him. You tell him about your hobbies, some of your dreams and ambitions, some things about your family and friends, how you discovered him, that sort of thing. A few times you're not sure if he’s listening or not since he seems to be focused on Sparks, but he asks such specific questions about what you’ve been saying that you know he has been paying attention.
“Now it’s your turn,” you inform him.
And he returns the favor.
It was strange, meeting someone you’d admired and looked up to for so long because he lives next-door to your aunt. Suddenly it felt a bit like you were old friends catching up after a long time apart. Not that you were complaining.
You stay at his house for the rest of the afternoon, just talking and playing with Sparks. You barely mention anything about YouTube or Vine again, and after a while you both seem to forget that you're a Fander. You just become Ms. Next-Door’s niece who’s being friendly and funny, talking and laughing like any friends.
When the time comes for you to go back to your aunt’s for dinner, you give him a hug and takes Sparks with you, promising you’d come back sometime soon just to hang out again.
Thomas smiles and waves as you head back next-door before closing his front door.
Your trip to Florida was already looking very promising.
The vacation of your dreams.

Long Distance (LDR)
OKAY, FIRST OF ALL; THIS IS MY FIRST TIME POSTING ONE OF MY WRITING DRABBLES OR WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT SO SORRY FOR ANY GRAMMATICAL MISTAKES. OR MISTAKES IN GENERAL, THIS WHOLE THING IS PROBABLY A MISTAKE.
(also if you have any feedback, I would love it)
second of all; this work was partly inspired by @curiosity-is-a-sin (I hope you don’t mind, also please don’t take it the wrong way)
Thanks to @happygo-s0ul-sucker for helping me with the names.
Finally; two woman have talked for a while now through the help of internet, they finally meet, and everything is wonderful except there’s an age difference, and it effects Georgia, who is the youngest, more then she lets on. In the end, Beatrix doesn’t care about their age, and wants Georgia to be happy. Also, there’s a dog. ENJOY>
‘Today’s the day’ Georgia thought to herself.
She had caught a flight out of Los Angeles, California at 8:00am yesterday morning, and after a five and half hour flight, a two-hour delay in New York City, and another ten hours on a new plane, there was only a half an hour left and she was anxious to get back on ground. It would be 11am in Cairo, Egypt when she landed, and she had planned it that way. As the plane continued to descend the air, the nervousness she felt before boarding had come back in hellfire.
Today was the day she would finally meet Beatrix, she was excited for the day to finally be here, but she was terrified how it would turn out. They had ‘met’ on the internet five years ago. First just messaging, until one day Beatrix asked to hear Georgia’s voice, and they spoke on the phone for a few months, until it turned to Skyping. With the time difference, it made it quite hard to accommodate schedules, but they always made it work. Now five years later, they are finally meeting, and Georgia was silently freaking out.
There was a slight age difference, Beatrix being eight years older than Georgia, it never bothered Beatrix, but it sometimes got the best of Georgia. Beatrix and Georgia had never defined their relationship, so Georgia wasn’t sure what would happen when they did finally meet. She decided not to dwell on the thought too much, because the plane had landed and was coming to the gate. She took the sketches she was working on during the flight and shoved them into her bag. Once the plane had come to a stop, everyone stood up and started collecting their items from the overhead compartment. Georgia thought it was best to stay seated until the majority of bodies had exited the plane, it would be an awful mess if she tried to brave the crowd. The plane emptied quickly with only a few stragglers, so Georgia finally stood and began down the aisle.
“Ma’am, did you have a carry on in the overhead?” A flight attendant stopped her before she could exit.
“Uh, no I checked a bag. Thank you though” Georgia smiled and hurried out the doors. She needed to get to the baggage claim before she called for an Uber.
As soon as she was in the airport, taking the escalator with a sign that would lead her to baggage claim three she took her phone off airplane mode. She waited for the spam of messages she would receive, thankful her phone was on silent and vibration was also turned off. She made it to baggage claim three, finding a place close enough to see the carousel that the suitcases would soon occupy, but not close enough to be in any ones way. Knowing it would take some time for the luggage to be removed from the plane, and sent to the baggage claim area, Georgia decided to check her phone.
About five text messages from her mom, reminding Georgia to let her know when she landed. Even though Georgia was 28, her mom still worried when she traveled, as did Georgia with her mom. There was a few messages from her coworkers also wanted to make sure she landed safely, one from the manager of her restaurant asking, “When will you be back?” The message concerned Georgia, but she knew to trust her employee. Lastly, one message from Beatrix telling her she couldn’t wait to meet her. She smiled as she sent a quick response to her mom, coworkers, and employee.
Georgia put her phone in her pocket, to pay attention to the luggage that was now circling, she watched intently until she saw the plush cat keychain she added to her suitcase for better identification. She quickly grabbed her luggage and began for the doors, pulling her phone back out to call for an Uber.
She stepped outside and saw a ‘Taxi pick up’ sign, deciding that would be the best place for the Uber to pick her up, she started walking towards the area. Paying attention to her phone she didn’t notice she stepped into a crosswalk as a car almost hit her. The vehicle slammed on their brakes, and blared their horn at the oblivious girl. Startled, Georgia apologized profusely, knowing the driver probably couldn’t hear or understand her, and hurried across the road.
A familiar laugh filled her ears, she looked around for the person it belonged to, finally seeing by the ‘Taxi pick up’ sign the face she had only seen through a computer or phone screen. Georgia’s heart sank, and her face turned hot as she took in the woman before her. She had always though Beatrix was beautiful, but that phrase “You look better in person” came to mind when she looked at the woman.
“That was pretty funny to watch” Beatrix was still giggling as Georgia approached her.
“What are you doing here?” Before Georgia could catch herself, the words fell from her mouth. She opened her mouth to correct herself.
“You said you were going to get an Uber from the airport, but I didn’t see a point when I have a vehicle” A glorious smile played on Beatrix face, “And I knew you would have it pick you up here” She pointed at the sign above her head.
“Oh yeah? You just know me that well, hmm?” She couldn’t help joking with Beatrix, it was as if they had known each other for years, and in a way, they did.
“We should get to the car.” Beatrix face turned from a happy smile, to an impatient scowl.
“Oh…okay” scared of the sudden change in Beatrix’s demeanor, all she could do was follow to the car.
They approached Beatrix’s vehicle, and Georgia put her luggage in the trunk, then crawled into the passenger’s seat. Georgia thought her joking had upset Beatrix, so she decided it best to not say anything else. Realizing that if she had put her off already, it was going to be a long month.
They both sat in silence during the ride to Beatrix’s house, Georgia noticed Beatrix had a strong grip on the steering wheel, turning her knuckles almost white. They pulled up to Beatrix’s house, and Georgia hurried to get her bag, wanting to get inside to hide as soon as she could. Beatrix unlocked the front door, and stepped to the side avoiding eye contact as Georgia entered. Panic was beginning to fill Georgia, she couldn’t fly home for a month, and now she is going to be a burden her entire stay. She watched Beatrix close the door behind them, and lock it.
“I…I could get a hotel room, if you would prefer.” Georgia about whispered, not wanting to upset Beatrix anymore.
Suddenly, she was against the wall, one hand behind her head so as not to hit it, and another caressing her face. A gasp escaped Georgia’s throat, then soft lips were pressed against hers. So many emotions began to vibrate through her, she let go of her suitcase and wrapped her arms around Beatrix’s neck, deepening the kiss. It was as if her entire life had been leading up to this moment. There was no one else, except Beatrix and her. Beatrix slowly pulled her lips away, Georgia opened her eyes to look into hers.
“I couldn’t wait any longer” Finally Beatrix broke the silence, “And it is illegal for a woman to be with another woman, so I had to get you here as fast as I could” She stepped out of Georgia’s embrace and picked her luggage up, beginning up the stairs to the room she set up for Georgia.
“I thought you were upset I was trying to joke with you” Georgia followed, adrenaline pumping through her veins, eyes shining with happiness.
“Is that why you said you would get a hotel room?” Beatrix spun around to look Georgia in the eyes.
“Yes” Averting her gaze, Georgia suddenly felt embarrassed.
A chuckle rippled from Beatrix’s throat, she opened the door to the guest room.
“Even if I was mad, I wouldn’t make you get a hotel room, when I have a perfectly good bedroom for you to stay in.” She walked in and set Georgia’s suitcase at the end of the bed. “Though I’m hoping you wont be using this room” She winked at Georgia, and saw her blush slightly.
Georgia stepped closer, wrapping her arms around Beatrix’s waist, realizing she loved the feel of her body in her embrace. She gave Beatrix a soft kiss feeling Beatrix’s hands fumbling with the hem of her shirt. Taking the hint she began leaving a trail of nibbles and wet kisses down Beatrix’s jawline, enticing soft gasps from her throat.
“I’m hoping I wont be using it either.” Her teeth made indentions in Beatrix’s shoulder as she smirked at her clever remark.
••••
It’s now been two weeks since Georgia arrived at Beatrix’s. It’s been a process to adjust to the time, but Georgia always makes sure to cook dinner for Beatrix and be there when she gets home from work.
A rap song by Childish Gambino filled the house as she finished cooking, she was too busy singing the lyrics she didn’t hear Beatrix come through the front door. Beatrix didn’t really like most of the music Georgia listened to, but she loved watching her dance and sing to the songs. Georgia was so passionate when she listened to music, it was like she was being transported into another world, it was mesmerizing for Beatrix to watch.
Beatrix stood in the kitchen for a moment longer then needed, just enjoying the view. Then she turned to her coworkers she had invited over, holding up a finger in a “one minute” gesture. She walked over to the speaker that was playing the music at an awful volume, and turned it down until it was almost mute.
Georgia heard the music lower and knew that meant Beatrix was home, she kicked herself for not hearing her come in, so she could turn the music off. She wiped her hands off, and walked towards the living room.
“Hey baa…” Her eyes took in the four strangers standing with Beatrix, quickly changing her greeting, “Best friend” She smiled, but knew that was a terrible save. Beatrix giggled, not helping Georgia’s embarrassment.
“You are so beautiful,” Beatrix couldn’t help but laugh, then took a step to Georgia pulling her into her arms, and planted a kiss on her lips. Georgia’s eyes were wide at the display of affection in front of people. “It’s okay, they are the few people I work with that know, they wont tell” Reassuring Georgia that everything was okay.
“Oh okay, well maybe it’s a good thing they are here, telling you with people around might help” Georgia suddenly thought she could use the strangers to her advantage.
“I’m sorry? Help with what?” Beatrix became tense.
“Well, I went to the store today, and on the way, I met a friend” Georgia’s eyes darted to the people who were listening to her intently, “And I would like you to meet them” She glanced back at Beatrix, as she saw her relax a little.
“Oh, of course I’ll meet your new friend” A smile splitting Beatrix face, happy that’s all it was.
“Okay, I’m so excited, follow me” Georgia began for the back door, almost skipping with excitement.
Georgia opened the back door, and everyone stepped outside. The strangers were all mumbling about ‘why the new friend was in the backyard’
“Veet” Georgia yelled loudly, Beatrix’s eyes widen at the sudden outburst.
“What…” She began but fell silently when something came running around the corner.
It was a magnificent dog, so beautiful and happy. Wagging it’s tail and spinning in circle with excitement of meeting new people. Beatrix couldn’t take her eyes off it, a golden retriever with such wonderful fur and gorgeous eyes.
“He was just wandering around, and I figured I could post him online to see if anyone claims him, or take him back to the states with me if no one does.” Georgia knelt down to the dog, petting it affectionately. “He is so smart, I taught him so much in just a day, do you want to see?” Her smile was entrancing, Beatrix couldn’t help but mimic her excitement, and nodded her head.
“Okay,” Georgia stood up, and lifted her hand in front of the dog, pointing to the sky with her palm facing out, “asseoir” The dog sat down at the command, Georgia then pointed at the ground, “poser” The dog laid down, placing his head on the ground as well. Georgia turned her hand, pointing to the sky again with her palm facing towards her, “se lever” the dog jumped up to all fours. Beatrix was already impressed, but Georgia continued. She placed her right hand to the dog, “secouer” Lifting his left paw and setting in on her hand. Georgia let go, and placed her left hand in front of the dog, “autre” the dog lifted his other paw and placed it in her hand once again. Georgia then lifted both hands in the air, fingers open and palms out, “Dix” the dog jumped in the air, placing both paws onto her hands in a ‘high ten’ motion, then landed back on the ground. “You are such a god boy, yes you are.” Georgia pulled a treat from her pocket and gave it to the dog, while scratch behind his ears. “Guess what I named him?” Georgia’s smile had not faltered once since she introduced the dog.
“What did you name him?” Beatrix giggled, she couldn’t believe that dog learned that much in a day.
“Cedric” continuing to scratch his ears, he waged his tail even more as if he already knew his name. “So can I keep him until I find his home, or take him with me?” She began to plead with her eyes.
“I don’t know,” Beatrix was trying to be serious, as if thinking about it, “What do you guys think?” Beatrix turned to the two men and two women, who up until now had been standing there quietly.
“I think you should let her, the dog seems smart and well behaved.” One of guys had answered, smiling at Georgia.
“Well I guess it will be okay” Beatrix turned back to Georgia, knowing that she would be beaming with joy from her answer.
The only noise that came out of Georgia was a high-pitched squeal of excitement as she hugged Cedric and kissed his forehead.
“What language did you teach him?” One of the ladies asked, curiosity written on her face.
“French” Georgia slowly stood up. “I’m Georgia, by the way.” She waved in greeting manner.
“Oh, right, where are my manners?” Beatrix finally realizing she hasn’t introduced anyone. “This is Bonnie” She pointed at the woman who asked the language question, “This is Todderick,” Pointing at the man who was now petting Cedric and also the one that told Beatrix to let him stay, “This is Anastasia” pointing at a woman that didn’t seem too happy to be there, “And this is Axel” pointing at a very tall man. “Everyone this is Georgia”
“Yeah, she said that” Bonnie rolled her eyes, “It’s nice to meet you Georgia”
“It’s nice to meet you too, as well as all of you.” She couldn’t help her smile, she was happy to meet some of Beatrix’s friends.
“So, are we eating dinner, because whatever you cooked smells amazing and I can’t stop thinking about it?” Todderick asked while rubbing his belly.
“I hope you don’t mind, babe” Beatrix turned to Georgia, “I invited them over for dinner”
“Of course, I’m just really happy I accidentally made too much,” She smiled at Beatrix and the guests, “Let’s get inside” She started for the door, “You can take a seat and I’ll bring everything out” She gestured to the dining table as everyone reentered the house. She then turned her attention to Cedric, “aller se coucher” and she closed the door after watching the dog run around the corner.
Everyone began to sit at the dining table as Georgia made her way to the kitchen to grab plates and silverware. She stopped in front of the sink and let out an exhausted sigh.
“Are you okay?” Georgia jumped as Beatrix grabbed her hand.
“I didn’t know you followed me in here.” She placed her hand over her heart as if to calm it.
“I’m sorry I invited them over without telling you,” Beatrix intertwined her fingers with Georgia’s, “Are you feeling overwhelmed?” She rubbed her thumb against Georgia’s in a soothing motion.
“Oh no, it’s okay, I spent most of the day nerves about introducing you to Cedric, so that was a little exhausting.” Georgia stared at their hands.
“Is that all, babygirl? Beatrix used her free hand to push the loose strands of Georgia’s hair behind her ear.
“Well, I guess I’m a little worried,” She couldn’t help but tell Beatrix everything when she called her ‘babygirl’ the pet name made her weak in the knees.
“Why are you worried? You have nothing to worry about? Cedric can stay for as long as he needs to.” Trying to reassure Georgia with her words, but Georgia only became more distant.
“It’s not that, I’m worried about your friends. I’m a lot younger than them, what if I say something stupid, and make an ass of myself? They’ll just think I’m a dumb millennial that shouldn’t be around you.” Georgia spilled the words as if they were vomit that she couldn’t stop.
“You are so smart and funny, you could never make an ass of yourself. If any of them says anything insulting, I’ll ask them to leave” Beatrix was rubbing Georgia’s cheek with her thumb.
“I just don’t want to embarrass you.” Georgia placed her hand over Beatrix’s, tears formed in her eyes. She inhaled deeply through her nose and closed her eyes trying to keep them from falling.
“You could never embarrass me, babe, if anything you compliment me.” Beatrix noticed a tear trail down Georgia’s cheek, and she kissed the wet stain away. “Come on, let’s show them how amazing you truly are”
“Okay, will you take the plates and utensils, I’ll grab the food” She began to relax at Beatrix’s words, no matter what happened Beatrix always knew how to make her feel better.
“Of course,” Beatrix placed a quick kiss to Georgia’s lips and turned to collect the items.
Shortly after Beatrix had left the kitchen, Georgia had gather as many trays of food as she could and made her way into the dining room. She placed each tray in the middle of everyone, while they were all busy in their own conversations. Then hurried to the kitchen to grab the rest of the trays, returning shortly to everyone watching her set the last tray down. She smiled and took a seat next to Beatrix. Beatrix grabbed her hand and gave her a squeeze.
“Why don’t you tell everyone what it is, babe?” She smiled at Georgia with such assurance in her eyes.
“Yeah, sure. I made teriyaki salmon, with garlic asparagus, and roasted sea salt and parsley red potatoes, with a toasted baguette on the side.” Georgia pointed at every dish as she explained what it was, “And it’s self-serve” She said as she started picking up some food and placing it on Beatrix’s plate.
Everyone then grabbed the serving spoons provided and began making their plates, saying how it all looked very good. Then again praising Georgia once they took a bite about how delicious it was.
“Oh, I almost forgot” She quickly stood and rushed to the pantry in the kitchen grabbing some wine glasses, and pulling the four bottles of wine out of the fridge. Placing them on the table, letting everyone pour their own glasses. “If you want more, there is the other half of the salmon in the kitchen, but I also made cookies and creams brownies with vanilla ice cream for dessert.” Georgia looked at Beatrix knowing cookies and cream brownies were her favorite.
“You spoil me.” She said giving Georgia’s hand another squeeze, and taking another bite of her food.
Georgia turned back to everyone, noticing that Anastasia had an uninterested look on her face as she looked at Beatrix’s and Georgia’s interlocked fingers. As soon as she noticed Georgia looking, her face contoured to an almost painful smile and she went back to her food.
“So, Georgia,” Axel began, “You know French?” Then shoved a fork full in his mouth after asking.
“Not fluently, just the basics. I am better at reading and writing, then I am speaking and listening. Same with Spanish. I took a French class in my hometown, but didn’t continue with it, though I wish I had.”
“So you know some French and Spanish? That’s pretty cool.” Bonnie complimented.
“Yeah, I know American Sign Language as well.” She wasn’t trying to brag, but it came off that way.
“Only the basics though, right?” Anastasia asked sounding disgusted.
“Actually, that one I do know fluently, I took five years of it, I would hope I am fluent” Georgia giggled, brushing off the daggers Anastasia was giving her.
“What do you do?” Axel asked another question, taking Georgia’s attention for the woman.
“I am an emergency RN for a hospital in California, and I own my own restaurant.” She couldn’t help but sound like she was boasting herself, but she was only trying to answer the questions.
“Wasn’t it hard getting a month off to come here, I’m sure your restaurant can’t run without the owner?” Anastasia once again throwing attitude into the question.
“Well I requested the time off from the hospital six months ago, and I had a month’s worth of vacation saved up, so they had no problem giving it to me. As for the restaurant, I trust my manager to take care of the place for a month without me, I wouldn’t have made him manager if I didn’t.” Georgia met her attitude with kindness and a smile. There had to be a reason she was treating her this way, but no one else seemed to notice.
“So now for the cliché question,” Todderick who had been quietly eating finally chimed in, “How did you two meet?”
Georgia looked at Beatrix, Beatrix giggled and looked at Georgia, both wondering who’s gonna start tell the story.
“Why don’t you start?” Beatrix asked, lifting an eyebrow at Georgia.
“I know how we “met” I want to know if you remember,” She placed air quotes around met, because it wasn’t an official meeting.
“I’m offended,” Beatrix gasped, and placed her hand over her heart. “Why wouldn’t I remember?” She giggled and grabbed Georgia’s hand once again. “Okay, we met online. I messaged her and we went from there.”
“Excuse me? You messaged me?” Georgia’s mouth was gaping, “I messaged you, thank you very much”
“How?” Beatrix smiled, curious as to where Georgia was taking this.
“I messaged you first.” She turned her attention back to everyone at the table, who was staring at them with amusement. “I happened to notice she was stalking my blog, so I messaged her calling her out on it, we messaged for a day and then we said we would talk another time. A week later I messaged her again to discuss something,” She looked back at Beatrix who was staring at her with so much pride in her eyes, Georgia’s breath hitched in her throat, “And then we just kept talking from there.”
“You are right, that is how it happened, I just wanted you to say it” Beatrix winked, making Georgia blush.
“Okay, so then what took you two so long to finally meet?” Bonnie asked, break Georgia’s attention from Beatrix.
“That was partly my fault,” Georgia admitted, “I was going to school, and working a full time job, I didn’t have the time to just leave. After I graduated, Beatrix offered to pay for my plane ticket multiple times, but I wanted to be fiscally independent when I came here, so I told her give me a year or so to get my financial situation under control.” Everyone was staring at Georgia, completely dumb stuck by her story, “Now I say ‘partly’ because once I was in good place,” She looked at Beatrix, “Beatrix had a girlfriend, and I felt it would be disrespectful to come visit.” She looked back at the table, “Even though she begged me to still come, I just didn’t feel it would be right.” Georgia noticed Anastasia’s eyes flash with anger and then back to disinterest. “Well then after they broke up I was in the process of buying my restaurant, and the couple I was buying it from dragged it out for almost a year, finally after the restaurant was up and running, and I was in a stable place again it had been over four years since we started talking. I decided to finally make the trip, so five years later, here I am.” Beatrix tighten her grip on her hand again.
“Better late than never, right?” Bonnie beamed at the story.
“Absolutely,” Georgia truly was happy she finally met Beatrix, “Did you guys want more?” She took in the empty plates around the table, followed by a bunch of groans. “Would you like some dessert?” The question received a ripple of ‘yes’ and ‘yeahs’ that filled the room. “Okay, I’ll go get it” She giggled as she collected the now empty trays that once held the dinner she made.
She put all the dishes in the sink, and went to the freezer the get the ice cream, as well as the fridge for the cookies and cream brownies. Balancing them on one arm she grabbed some cleans plates and silverware and sauntered back to the dining room. She placed everything in the middle once again, and then began grabbing everyone’d dirty dinner dish.
“Oh, the ice cream is made from scratch, that’s why it’s in a glass dish” She yelled over her shoulder as she carried the dishes to the sink. She decided to start on clean up, so she put the extra food in containers, and placed them in the fridge. She could faintly here the laughter and mumbles of conversation from the guests as she began doing the dishes. She was half way done when she felt arms wrap around her waist, stopping at her front, and a pair of lips on her neck. She jumped slightly, but she knew she had nothing to worry about. She just continued doing the dishes as the lips continued to kiss her neck and moving her shirt to kiss her shoulder was well.
“You are so beautiful,” The lips finally stopped and spoke, “Why don’t you stop cleaning and have some dessert?”
“Mmm, that’s not really what I want for dessert.” She whispered to Beatrix, her breath warm and tickling her ear. Georgia turned the water off and dried her hands before Beatrix turned her around abruptly.
“And what is it you do want?” But Beatrix didn’t need to ask the question she knew exactly what Georgia was insinuating. Before she received a response, her lips found Georgia’s. Pressing Georgia against the sink to deepen the kiss. It was full of passion, affection, and dripping with want. She pulled away remembering their guests. “We should get this ‘dinner party’ over with, so you can have your dessert” Georgia could only nod, she was still trying to catch her breath, then Beatrix winked.
They both made their way back into the dining room, with glorious smiles on their faces.
“Georgia, everything was amazing, thank you so much for having us.” Axel could tell by their faces it was time to go, trying to help wrap things up.
“Oh, absolutely, I mean it’s Beatrix’s house.” She giggled at the compliment. “But if you guys want to come over again before I leave, I’m sure Beatrix wouldn’t mind.” She said while nudging Beatrix in the shoulder.
Axel, Bonnie and Todderick laughed at their playfulness, but Anastasia was staring daggers into Georgia.
“Well, I hate to eat and run, but it’s about my bed time, and I’m sure everyone can agree.” Bonnie finally broke the laughter, while everyone stopped to nod or voice their arguments. “See you tomorrow Beatrix?”
Beatrix nodded as she walked everyone to the door, they all shouted their byes to Georgia over their shoulder as they walked out the door. Beatrix closed it behind them, being sure to lock it and spun on her heels. She made the long stride to Georgia quickly, and wrapped her in her embrace. Georgia leaving peppered kisses all over Beatrix face.
“You did wonderful, babe, I’m so proud of you.” The words boasted Georgia so much, she was glowing. Then her mind thought of Anastasia.
“Beatrix, why was Anastasia so cold towards me?” She wiggled so Beatrix would loosen her grip, but not let go.
“I asked her to be nice, but she just couldn’t.” Beatrix let out a sigh. “You know that ‘girlfriend’ I had when you wanted to visit?” Georgia nodded, realization slowly coming over her. “It was Anastasia, when I told her that I still wanted you to visit she didn’t take it well, and it ended up causing a lot of problems between us. We both came to the conclusion that we just weren’t meant to be, but better as friends.”  Beatrix lifted her hand to Georgia’s cheek “I invited her because I wanted her to meet you, but it seems she still has some untold feelings about the whole thing. I’m sorry, babe.”
“Don’t be, How were you to know she still held a secret grudge about what occurred?.” Georgia grabbed the back of Beatrix head and pulled her into a kiss. “Can I have me dessert now?”
Beatrix picked Georgia up, and threw her over her shoulder, enticing a yelp from Georgia, Beatrix smacked the round butt that was now next to her face, and began up the stairs to the bedroom. Georgia’s body vibrating with excitement, and giggling the whole way.

‘Tomorrow is the day’ Georgia though to herself, regret washing over her.
She was getting on a plane tomorrow and heading back to the states. Beatrix and her have been avoiding talking about it, not wanting to ruin the time they did have together. It was starting to become inevitable, and Georgia knew they had to discuss it.
She looked at Beatrix , who was sitting in a chair on the back patio playing with Cedric. Despite Georgia’s best efforts she didn’t find anyone to claim him, but that didn’t disappoint her, she noticed how much Beatrix had grown attached to Cedric. When she came home from work, she went straight to the back yard to greet him before even greeting Georgia. She would sometimes sneak Cedric into the house, because she wanted to cuddle with him and Georgia as they slept. Now Georgia was taking him to the states and Beatrix would be left alone.
“What if Cedric stays here?” Georgia asked placing a hand on Beatrix’s leg.
“I wouldn’t ask that of you, I know you want to take him.” She replied with a smile, but it didn’t meet her eyes.
“No, I want him to be happy, and you make him happy.” She tightened her grip on Beatrix’s leg.
“He makes me happy,” Her smile meeting her eyes now. “Okay, if you are sure, he can stay here.”
“I’m sure.” Georgia was so happy that the Beatrix agreed so easily.
“You also make me happy,” Beatrix whispered. “Why don’t you stay?” She didn’t take her eyes off Cedric, but Georgia knew the question was meant for her.
“If I could, you know I would. My career and restaurant are in the states, I can’t just abandon them.” Georgia’s eyes were pleading, wanting Beatrix to understand, “I want to stay more than anything, you know I do”
“I know,” Beatrix’s voice was now thick with sadness. “I just wish you didn’t have to go back to your life, why can’t your life be here?” It was more of a rhetorical question.
“My life is here,” Georgia’s response surprised Beatrix, she was baffled by what she meant. “You are my life Beatrix, I know that, unfortunately what helps me make a living, is not here.”
Beatrix placed her hand over Georgia’s that was holding her leg. She mindlessly rubbed her fingers over Georgia’s soft skin, thinking about what was to come.
“That just means you will have to come visit me,” Georgia wiggled her eyebrows in a playful manor.
“Of course I will, babe” She couldn’t help the smile that played across her face. The thought of going to the states and meeting Georgia’s friends was exciting. See her in her life, such as she had seen hers.
“There is so much I want to show you, like this place in my hometown we call ‘the creek’ it’s gorgeous if it’s just snowed and is full, and hockey games, and gay bars. Georgia winked at the last one. Beatrix felt something inside her as Georgia spoke of the things she wanted to show her.
“What if I move there?” And before she knew it the words were out there, there was no going back now. Georgia’s eyes grew wide.
“What? I would never ask that of you, your life is here.” Georgia was taken back by the question, but it didn’t upset her to think of Beatrix living in the states with her.
“No, like you said you are my life, and soon my life is going to be in the states. So why shouldn’t I move there?” Beatrix knew exactly what she was saying, she already starting think of selling her house, and leaving her job, taking Cedric and herself across the ocean.
“Would you really do that?” Georgia was beaming, she thought she couldn’t be any happier, until Beatrix said she wanted to move to the states with her.
“I’d do anything for you,” Beatrix realized as she said the words, they were more true than ever. She watched as Georgia started vibrating with joy and happiness. “I…I love you”
Georgia gasped, her entire body stilled, her heart was pounding so loud she could hear it in her ears, it was as if time had slowed as Beatrix said the words. Once again there was no one else, except Beatrix and her. In that moment, she knew that it would always be Beatrix and her, and a warmness start to fill her body, starting in her toes and moving up to her face.
“I love you too.” The words came out of her mouth as if she had been saying it for years, when she thinks about it, she sort of had been.
Beatrix suddenly pulled Georgia onto her lap, with a strength she didn’t even know she had, and claimed Georgia’s mouth as her own. She thought every time they had kiss the passion could not become any more intense, but every time she was proved wrong, including this time. Their lips moved eagerly, wanting more, their kissing started a hellfire inside them.
Just as they had started, it ended as quickly when Cedric jumped in between them wanting attention. They both burst out laughing at the dog, petting him.
“Yes, Cedric, you will always be a part of the family.” Georgia kissed his head. Beatrix mimicked Georgia’s smile, intertwining their fingers, placing a kiss on the back of Georgia’s hand.
“Family.”
