since having gained quite a few followers in the last few days, I figured a (not-so) brief introduction was in order — this is a hideout side account where I quarantine dragon age thoughts, art, etc. I have a main art account elsewhere (sabattons here, and here) where all that isn't da gets posted.

as for dragon age as a worldbuild, I share a canon with my partner. our primary focus is on our inquisitors, cadere (theirs) and simultas (mine). our characters are of mattokian blood, a homebrew elven race that tracks between multiple worldbuilds (our original one, ffxiv, da, etc.) some information about them can be found here + here. I am native, and so are my elves — this also effects how I read the dragon age elves.

some introductory information about the clan charnel that simultas oversees and is apart of, can be found here and here. [ important to note that to the mattokian, simultas is as high-ranked as the divine ; so his involvement in the inquisition means little to him. he longs for no power, but to sow the seeds of fate, which he has done for ages ]

simultas is a near-ageless homosexual, polyamorous mage and ancient oracle. his core relationships are with both solas and cadere — sometimes, due to cadere's own relationship to dorian, the greater relationship better resembles a quaint quad. we do a lot of exploring of solavellan and pavellan as separate relationships, but also dig into the bonds between each man involved. simultas and cadere are seemingly cosmically bound, two sides of one coin, and we delve into that duality — simultas is the "bad" inquisitor who shoulders the brunt of the canon's mistrust, his relationship is the one doomed to end, etc. while cadere is the arbiter of luck, with a relationship that does not fail and a populace that likes him.

typically I would not mention the granular details of their relationships, but people seem to have strong opinions about solas in relationships with men, and "unfaithful" inquisitors (trust, there is enough faith between simultas and solas to bring about the end times. devotion is not a scarcity in my worldbuild)

A little update about my life for those who were wondering where I am.

Work is exhausting like always, but I will be changing jobs soon. I am slowly getting back into writing. I bought a new tablet that I can write on because my laptop is dead (rest in peace King, I wrote so many fics on you 🥲)

I will start studying graphic design in March.

Munich is covered in snow and I can't get anywhere haha.

I still have a lot of cats and they are growing sooooo fast.

Also, I'm in a very happy relationship and I love my boyfriend a lot UwU

It’s really incredible being in fandoms sometimes and seeing really terrible misinterpretations of certain characters, and seeing other people in that fandom be like “gosh I’m so sick of this garbage misinterpretation. this character is ACTUALLY like—“ and then proceed to give an equally terrible take in the opposite direction.

"Mid" is such a strange descriptor. I saw someone describing someone's vent comic as "mid" and they keep insisting to me that it's "mid" and like. yeah that is... an average piece of vent art. Why do you keep repeating this. I understand that it is a vent comic.

I've seen it other places too and I just... don't really get it. "This is mid." Okay? So it is average? As in, a typical instance of the thing you are describing?? What is the purpose of stating this.

so one of the things I was vaguely aware of before reproducing was that people hold a lot of anxiety around the gender of babies and 'wrongly' gendering babies (i.e. failing to guess correctly based on their clothes and appearance what their genital configuration is) and having now had a baby: wow, yes, they really do.

I take an extremely laissez-faire approach to baby clothes because like, they are constantly being thrown up on and grown out of and so on, what matters is that they are clean and easy to put on and I am not spending $$$$$ on them. as long as the colour/design is not directly offensive, it's fine. what this means is that people are quite frequently 'misgendering' the baby and then falling over themselves to apologise about it.

and, like, I haven't even had a chance to dress him in anything pink yet; this is based on rules I didn't expect like 'anything with flowers or sparkly bits on it is for girls only'. equally, I do not care when this happens because it's an irrelevancy, but THEY care to make sure I am not offended. so I have started telling them "look, he's only [x] months old; his gender is baby."

and you know what? you'd be surprised how many otherwise average heterosexual people process this and go "huh, yeah, I guess it is." there is a tiny amount of hope for the future after all.
