So a quick thing about me (madd) and shipping, and trust.

Though I have plenty of male-attracted muses (though I actually misrepresent their orientation on my muse list because so many gross dudes have tried to just force ship on them that I changed it) I am actually pretty selective about what guy muses I ship with.

It's like in real life, where the only guys who have ever hit on me have ever been very rude and crass, and a lot of time it feels like that in RPC too.

You have to be able to express SOME charm, and in some cases I might still not be into it.

I have a slight bias towards certain ships (Harmione and NaruSaku are actually ones I really like) that I simply won't ship without a suitable partner to write it. And there's nothing wrong with that.

Chemistry/Relations between muses = RP/Interacting with each other

This way, I’m able to get a feel for how you portray your muses, and can determine whether or not there’s compatibility. This also helps me understand you as an RPer, too!

regardless of muses being canon or OC’s, please consider having some chemistry (interactions/threads) done before trying to ship with my muses!

As much as I advocate having All the Ships™, jumping straight into ships without getting a feel of your muse(s) makes it difficult for me to get into them. (´・ω・｀) Apologies about that!

pre-plotted/pre-existing relationships will require that we’ve RP’d together enough for me to get a feel of your RP style, especially with OC’s.

I am perfectly, absolutely aware of the fine lines over aging up fictional minors for smut content and will admit that I am perfectly fine/understanding towards RPing such things—so long as it applies to the 14+)—while also fully understanding the controversy it brings.

Aged-up characters or verses that I RP/provide are never intentionally or solely made for smut/SRP content, nor will they ever be.

There’s a good chance that any of my originally/canonically minor teenager whose blog is labeled 18+ may imply an aged-up verse for SRP content. Hopefully, this will help determine if you should be wary of these blogs of mine!

If all else fails, you are absolutely allowed to politely and respectfully ask if there is an aged-up verse with potential SRP content! This way, you can blacklist appropriately.

RP Blogs with smut content will always be labeled accordingly

Rule of Thumb on Age Gaps for Ships: no more than 2 years between minors with 18-year olds, and 3 years between muses aged 18-20 years old with 21+.

Even then, minor×adult SRP/smut is PROHIBITED.

Both muns must take/understand necessary precautions when involving aged-up fictional characters or minor muses, consider any adjustments that may be needed, and must be both adults (18+). 

Of course, if you yourself actually condone pedophilia, I will block you.

Fandom Complaints

From my personal experience, I see so many ANONs telling off shippers of a great deal of ships from animated series.

I’m going to put this under a READ MORE simply because I’m about to go on a rant about all of the disgusting things that I have personally witnessed, experienced, or been made aware of during my years in various fandoms.

The most popular accusation that I see is that the accused, the shipper, is a pedophile because they ship two characters and one isn’t of American legal age.

There is multiple issues with this accusation and I want to bring it up.

Pedophilia/paedophilia is a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children.

First order of business is the accusation of being a ‘pedo’ when that is YOU showing sexual attraction towards a character. The shipper might not feel any sexual attraction towards the character so that’s a simple enough way to denounce this claim.

More importantly though... the definition that you should be using is, by definition, the one used for the majority of the ‘children’ in ships that you are so concerned over...

Ephebophilia is the primary or exclusive adult sexual interest in mid-to-late adolescents, generally ages 15 to 19. 

Using a few examples here... 

Voltron: Legendary Defenders currently has a great many of it’s ships in this... Shiro x Paladin/Allura is what this this by the CHARACTER Shiro’s POV.

From the shipper... it’s not going to be as likely that they are sexually attracted to as much, though I am sure there are people that are and that’s their business.

Main thing about this... is says primary or exclusive... meaning that once once they are out of teenage years...  the adult would lose sexual interest in them.

I don’t see that as the case with the example that I provided... as I see Shiro as a man that fell for someone based on personality and how they bonded over time rather than the whole ‘you’re a hot teenager so I want to fuck you’ sort of thing. Personal opinion based on what I’ve seen in the 2 seasons so far.

Another thing that I see in many fandoms is this: Incest Shipping.

Incest is sexual activity between family members or close relatives.[1][2] This typically includes sexual activity between people in a consanguineous relationship (blood relations), and sometimes those related by affinity, such as individuals of the same household, stepfamily, those related by adoption or marriage, or members of the same clan or lineage. 

Here’s something I see a lot of... The Shimada brothers from the game Overwatch have this happen to them despite being BLOOD.

And, while I am not a fan of the idea... I am not going to lead a charge of attacking people that do ship it. I ignore them, block them if it’s seen too often in either of the muse’s tags here on tumblr, or use my xkit to not see it at all.

Attacking people won’t change the majorities OTPs or shipping in general... it just has them blast you messages and then you all start a bitch off war for all their followers to watch... and probably eat popcorn to.

Whether you ship it, believe it’s an acceptable ship or not, hate it, or something else... this right here is NEVER alright. This is suicide baiting and can land your ass if court, possibly jail, and all it would take is this person making a note on their account claiming that all the messages that they had received was the reason for them taking their life...

The government can track you down even on ANON... and the American government will take action on matters like this.

My standings are that shipping fictional characters does not mean that I, the mun, do theses sorts of things in real life. I do not like minors and adults by American legal age standards dating, I hate incest and the idea of two people that are family, by blood or not, getting involved makes me visibly cringe.

While I won’t ship incest things... I do like some ships where a teenage fictional character likes a legal adult character. I don’t mind them being in a relationship if the age gap isn’t too bid either... they are fictional characters... not real people and that is my biggest point in all of this.

And to all you people claiming that it’s triggering because of personal experiences in your past that cause you pain, panic attacks, general discomfort, or anything else... block it.

You don’t want to hear this but the world doesn’t owe you shit because of your troubled/pained past.

You have to protect you... block it with the xkit or Tumblr Savior.

Don’t bitch, whine, or just protest about it... be active and protect yourself from seeing it.
