Kids love violence and horror actually ❤️

it's so funny when people critique dark tropes and plotlines with "this isn't appropriate, people ACTUALLY going through this" because the human condition is like. very much the point.

#‘violent video games cause mass shootings’ kinda asshole #consuming ‘bad’ content does not automatically lead to bad people #that’s not a one to one thing #if you want to shelter your kid so hard that it doesn’t know about death or hardship FINE #but treating censorship as good bc of For The Children is annoying and inane #some kids consume South Park for years on end and end up kindly communists or whatever #some kids watch Veggie Tales all day and never see an R-rated movie in their life and somehow end up cruel and vindictive #media is not personality #consuming ‘correct content’ does not in fact immediately lead to correct thoughts and correct actions and then correct results #good and correct thoughts don't even de facto lead to goodness itself #well-intentioned moral people create hell #(the very well-intentioned Dr. Woolley tried to save infants from SIDs by having them sleep on their front-- leading to more infant deaths)#selfish pricks create some heaven #(Al Capone gave us expiration dates on milk so people wouldn't get sick so often)#morality is sadly a crapshoot
