I stumbled across the Lo Sound Desert docu. on @netflix a few weeks ago and I remembered I kept this cool poster from a show we played out there. I was marginally aware of the Desolation Center desert generator shows during the eighties and how influential they had been with bands like @wattfrompedro and the Minutemen, Meatpuppets, Sonic Youth and Perry Ferrell’s early band Psi Com participating. These shows had a direct influence on the creation of @lollapalooza as well as @burningman and @coachella . One of the OG’s of this amazing scene is @mariolalli . All roads in desert music lead to Mario. In 1994, he along with fellow @fatsojetsonband bass player Larry Lalli opened Rhythm and Brews in Indio, CA. Part clubhouse, rehearsal pad, restaurant and bar it became ground zero for the scene and beyond. During it’s short existence every great alt band from the Melvins to Bikini Kill played there. My band (Greg Ginn) were fortunate to headline the first ever show there. Right away you could tell this place and this scene were special. Fatso Jetson were rehearsing when we arrived and I believe it was their first gig as a band that night. Tour and label mates Rig also shared the stage along with Solarfeast who went on to legendary status in their own right. Ginn signed FatsoJetson soon afterwards to SST and released a couple of their albums. That’s why bands like Kyuss @queensofthestoneage and @eodmofficial consider Mario and his amazing guitar skills, songwriting and scene building with efforts like Rhythm and Brews the Godfather of the desert scene. So glad to have been witness and a tiny participant in such a vital and unique musical movement beginning to explode and have worldwide influence. . . #desertrock #fatsojetson #yawningman #indio #stonerrock #eodm #queensofthestoneage #sstrecords #rhythmandbrews #coachella #goldenvoice #burningman #lallapalooza #perryferrell #psicom #minutemen #meatpuppets #sonicyouth #davetravis #losounddesert #gregginn #solarfeast #superfunhappyslide (at Indio, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0mlZXAhkPS/?igshid=1qx16ta3hydt2

BROOKLYN BEERS PARTY avec
VIC Du MONTE (aka Chris Cockrell-ex KYUSS) and the DOWNSHIFTERS (USA_DE) Garage blues + DEMON VENDETTA (CH) + REBELS OF TIJUANA (CH)
Vic Du Monte :
Vic du Monte also known as Chris Cockrell grew up in the California desert and began his musical career at the end of the eighties when he formed Sons of Kyuss with school friends John Garcia, Josh Homme and Brant Bjork who went on to become the stoner rock band Kyuss.
After Kyuss he went on to forge his own identity as Vic du Monte fronting a classic desert generator band called Solarfeast.
He relocated to Chicago in the mid-nineties where he lived hard and fast writing a catalogue of rock n roll classics. These songs eventually became standards for his turn of the century act Vic du Monte’s Idiot Prayer, which he formed upon his return to California.
Idiot Prayer quickly began to take hold in Los Angeles building momentum with a series of well-attended live shows resulting in the Prey for the City LP released on Duna Records in 2005. With impending tours, an updated line up and signing with Cargo Records also came the name change from Idiot Prayer to Persona Non Grata. With the exception of a brief stint in 2007 fronting desert band Man Bites Dog, Vic has since been writing, recording and touring his Idiot Prayer and Persona Non Grata releases.
Preforming musicians: Jermeny Jiannoni (drums), Matthew Kistler (guit, lab steel guit), Brandon Belletieri (bass), David Mallchok (bass), James Childs (key, bass, guit, backing vocals), Sargon Dooman (guit, backing vocals), Alfredo Hernandez (drums).

Rebels of Tijuana :
The Rebels of Tijuana will release in 2017 a new EP titled "Brazil 70". A new horizon, more Pop and poetic, and a new line up that also pledges its love for garage and psychedelic rock and kinetic instrumental scores. A turn embracing more surrealistic French, a journey navigating between past influences and modern gems. With many albums, singles, EPs, compilations, European tours a go go, big festivals (Paléo, Printemps de Bourges, Rock n 'Poche ...), along with opening acts for Jon Spencer, the Charlatans, or Sallie Ford to name but a few on the clock, The Rebels of Tijuana has built a solid reputation as a band of hyperactive rock n'roll wankers, acknowledged by the French, Swiss and Canadian press (Philippe Manœuvre, Canal +, Rock & Folk, Les Inrocks, RTS, Couleur 3, Le Mouv', FIP, Ouï FM, CISM & CIBL ...). The Rebels of Tijuana, the founding group of The Pop Club Records label, has also signed various songs for US and Australian TV series ("You're the Worst", "Beyond", "Offspring", "Very Bad Girls"), as well as the latest "Orangina" advertisement in the UK
