So for Solar, this was, much like with Engel, a decision completely based on nebulous vibes, yet a certain one. Hoping it strikes true, nonetheless!

Sage

Sage has a reputation mainly as a common garden herb and Scarborough Fair and is first and foremost incredibly versatile. Pumpkin season wouldn't be the same without it, and both its leaves and flowers taste great fried or prepared in a myriad of ways. I, myself, adore it mainly for its beautiful aroma. It is a strong taste and scent that refuses to be delegated to the sidelines and works best when brought to the forefront.

I wanted to give Solar something that is first and foremost useful, because to me he seems like a man that appreciates utility in all areas of life. The fact that flowering sage is very pretty is, of course, a bonus. Nothing better than a flower that can be gifted to one's love interest one second and ripped out to supply the kitchens the next.

Sage stands mainly for

Health, something that Solar doesn't fare particularly well in but all the more important to wish it upon someone

Wisdom, as the name may suggest, which is something he embodies through strategy and cleverness

and Respect, which is something he no doubt commands but also likely holds for others in the same way

It is also ceremonial to a lot of cultures!
