I'll be 32-years-old this month. It seems like yesterday I got saved when I was 16 in high school (November 2009). Time flies. I thank God for Jesus Christ, who saved my soul when I was just a punk rock, drugged up teenager, lost and on his way to a devil's hell. He saved me with so great a salvation.

Sola Fide (Faith Alone) – Pastor Patrick Hines Sermon / IMPROVED AUDIO! 2 Corinthians 11:3 But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, your minds will be led astray from sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you…

Here, in Rom. 3[:28], I knew very well that the word solum is not in the Greek or Latin text; the papists did not have to teach me that. It is a fact that these four letters s o l a are not there. And these stubborn jackass heads stare at them like cows at a new gate. At the same time they do not see that it conveys the sense of the text; it belongs there if the translation is to be clear and vigorous. ~Martin Luther, "On Translating: An Open Letter" in The Annotated Luther, vol. 6: The Interpretation of Scripture, 29.

Grace Alone
The book of Ephesians helps us take a closer look at the grace God extended to us by raising us to new life in Christ. Grace is defined as “unmerited favor” shown by God to His people (Eph. 1:2). Through Christ, we are granted peace. We have been blessed with every spiritual blessing, which is often referred to as God’s manifold grace (1:3). Paul reminds us of God’s preordained plan for…

*A pastor who fails to deal with sin is like a doctor who fails to deal with illness. You better find another one."

Martin Luther OSA was a German priest, theologian, author, hymnwriter, professor, and Augustinian friar. Luther was the seminal figure of the Protestant Reformation, and his theological beliefs form the basis of Lutheranism. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in Western and Christian history.
Nailed the 95 Theses: Martin Luther is best known for his 95 Theses, which he is said to have nailed to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg on October 31, 1517. This act is commonly considered the starting point of the Protestant Reformation, challenging the Catholic Church's practices, particularly the sale of indulgences.
Excommunicated and Outlawed: In 1521, Luther was excommunicated by Pope Leo X and declared an outlaw by the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V at the Diet of Worms. Despite this, he continued to promote his reforms and translated the Bible into German, making it more accessible to the common people.
Translation of the Bible: Luther translated the Bible into German, starting with the New Testament in 1522 and completing the Old Testament in 1534. His translation played a significant role in shaping the German language and making the Scriptures accessible to a broader audience.
Theological Contributions: Luther's theology emphasized key doctrines such as justification by faith alone (sola fide), the authority of Scripture alone (sola scriptura), and the priesthood of all believers. These ideas were foundational to the development of Protestantism.
Lutheranism: Martin Luther’s teachings and reforms led to the establishment of the Lutheran Church, one of the major branches of Protestantism. His followers, known as Lutherans, continued to develop his theological insights and build upon his reforming work, influencing the course of Christian history.

Question from a Jew: why oppose the reformation? It was taught in my school as a pretty unanimously good thing (minus Martin Luther being a bit of an asshole)
I also was given the impression that the reformation was unanimously a good thing by my public school education until I really started studying it. I think some of the critiques of the Catholic Church were absolutely justified, especially when it comes to corruption within the institution and amongst the clergy. It is often presented by secular education as primarily a political critique of church policies... but it is a bit more than that.
New theological ideas were introduced by reformers, most of which I disagree with. When it comes to Luther, I am opposed to sola scriptura (scripture alone) and sola fide (faith alone). While I appreciate Luther's emphasis on the importance of God's grace, the de-emphasis on humanity's obligation towards each other (works) was disastrous. Calvinism is just... repulsive to me on a visceral level. Overall, I think the mystical tradition of the church suffered incredibly due to the rise in Christian rationalism caused by the reformation (that is not to say that I don't think mysticism exists in Protestantism, it certainly can show up).
Also, protestantism had plenty of... debatable negative consequences. Perhaps the most notable being capitalism. We can debate chicken and the egg when it comes to capitalism and protestantism, but the protestant reformation was absolutely intermingled with the dawning of western capitalism. It is not hard to argue that Protestant ideology played a role in enabling capitalism's rise. Hell, the labor culture of Catholic and Protestant countries noticeably differ to this day.

Five Solae
What are the Five Solas, well lets state them.
Sola Fide (faith alone)
Sola Scriptura(scripture alone)
Sola gratia(Grace alone)
Solus christus(Christ alone)
Sola Deo Gloria(glory to God alone)
So what do these mean and why do they exist? Back before the reformation (Luther and his 95 theses) the church and its doctrines where governed by the Catholic Church and the Pope. so the Catholic church has the Bible but it also has its Canon Law and the some other non biblical doctrines Such as Purgatory and Indulgences.
These extra things came about because of the Pope being able to add to the Cannon Law and various other things without referring back to the bible.so when the Reformation came, a new set of founding principles had to be stated en-order to separate the Protestant movement from the Catholic movement, thus we have the Five Solas.
so these five points of principle state what we base our creed on in protestant world.
We are saved by faith alone and no amount of good works can save you without faith.
Romans 1:16 NIV
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,[e] just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”[f]
The Bible is the one source of Scripture we use and is the source of all our doctrine.
2 Timothy 3:16 New International Version (NIV)
“16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness”
Grace alone is responsible for allowing you to choose god and salvation and it is not possible to choose with out grace due to our sinful nature, we are no long under the law.
John 1:17
“For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. “
Christ alone is the only way to god, praying to saints or Mary will not allow you to speak to god and serves no purpose.
John 14:6 New International Version (NIV)
“6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
God Alone is to be Glorified, no being dead or alive is to be set above God
Revelation 15:4 New International Version (NIV)
4 Who will not fear you, Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.”

Hi
https://youtube.com/@solafidedeum
Is it a good spiritual channel?
Thanks for sharing this! I took a look and it seems pretty legit. Everything I did hear aligned with the Bible and what I believe to be true as a Christian and follower of Jesus Christ. Nothing goes into a lot of depth, understandable since every video is less than five minutes. But the videos seem like a good introduction to different Biblical concepts or for believers, a short reminder of what we know to be true.
The description from below is from their about section.
Welcome to Sola Fide Deum, It is a Channel of believers, who share a belief in salvation through faith alone in god. Our mission is to spread the message of Sola Fide Deum which means faith alone in God in Latin, We believe that having faith in Christ can bring us hope, peace, and a sense of purpose. Our Channel is about helping people discover the transformative power of faith and providing resources and support for those who want to strengthen their faith in Christ. Through our Channel, we share inspiring messages, testimonies, and teachings about the Christian faith through scripture. The channel has Bible study, scripture, devotionals, prayers, encouragement, explanations, and explains what Sola Fide Duem means.

The little word "alone" offends some, even though Paul says [Rom. 3:28]: "For we hold that a person is justified by faith apart from works prescribed by the law"; and again in Ephesians 2[:8-9]: "It is the gift of God--not the result of works, so that no one may boast"; and again in Romans [3:24]: "...justified by his grace as a gift..." If anyone dislikes the exclusive particle "alone," let them banish the exclusive terminology, "freely," "not by works," "it is a gift," etc., from Paul as well. ~Apology of the Augsburg Confession 4:73

Jesus' Last Day: Sunday, April 5, A.D. 33
YESTERDAY WAS A DAY of reconciliation. Intimacy with the Father was restored. The curse was reversed. Life was restored. Prior to their disobedience, Adam and Eve were in constant fellowship with God in the Garden of Eden. They basked daily in His manifest presence, created in the image of God. But because of their sin, access to God was no longer a simple matter. It would require an intercessor,…

Sorry if this ask disturbed you.😔🙏
Hi anon,
From the first video I saw from that channel, I would not recommend it to my family and friends because I disagree with the doctrine. Sola fide deum means saved through faith alone. This contradicts Roman Catholicism that teaches that we are not saved by faith alone.
As EWTN says,
The Bible tells us we must have faith in order to be saved (Hebrews 11:6). Yet is faith nothing more than believing and trusting? Searching the Scriptures, we see faith also involves assent to God's truth (1 Thessalonians 2:13), obedience to Him (Romans 1:5, 16:26), and it must be working in love (Galatians 5:6). These points appeared to be missed by the reformers, yet they are just as crucial as believing and trusting. (1 Corinthians 13:1-3) should be heeded by all it's certainly an attention grabber. The Catholic Church has never taught we "earn" our salvation. It is an inheritance (Galatians 5:21), freely given to anyone who becomes a child of God (1 John 3:1), so long as they remain that way (John 15:1-11). You can't earn it but you can lose the free gift given from the Father (James 1:17).
I think it's important to spread the Word of God, but Christians should not live according to that doctrine. We need to actually live out our faith and imitate Christ.
#ask#asks#im sure you sent this ask to gain traction for your new YT channel#but i dont think any catholics will be that interested in it#sorry

Reformed Theology is the theology of the protestant movement that "reformed" the theological perspective held by the Roman Catholic Church. This movement began in the sixteenth Century with Martin Luther and has continued on since them. It has since come to be known commonly as Calvinism and is a biblically centered theological perspective focusing on the sovereignty of Scripture, the sovereignty of God, his election, redemption, and our securing in Christ's work.
Reformed theology holds to the five solas:
Sola Scriptura - Scripture alone Sola Christus - Christ alone Sola Gratia - Grace alone Sola Fide - Faith alone Soli Deo Gloria - the Glory of God alone
It is also known by the Five Points (TULIP)
Total Depravity Unconditional Election Limited Atonement Irresistible Grace Perseverance of the Saints
