I completely disagree with the meaning of Gaara's name that Yashamaru told him. Like, he lied about everything else that night, so I HC that he lied about his name as well. Gaara's s/o does some deep research and finds his name actually has a good meaning because his mom loved him??

Yashamaru makes me angry but at the same time I couldn't help but think he was just written that way to ensure Gaara's breaking point. Truth be told Yashamaru's arc just felt so underdeveloped because it did feel like he LOVED Gaara, so him betraying his nephew like that? Where in the flying fuck did that come from?

Although it's not that far-fetched and could've actually made an interesting arc where he had been secretly sinister all this time... but the way they handled it overall just felt like a plot twist for the sake of plot twist by the very end.

Karura naming her son with such a dark name also just feels weird. There's no factual definition out there other than self-loving demon, a demon who only loves himself, self-loving silk (?) Obviously it is up for personal interpretation but when it comes to the literal translation of it there's just no way around it. It really is a dark name by nature.

You know how some people behave differently whenever they hang out with their s/o vs their bffs? Imagine at the beginning of Gaara and his s/o's relationship, they're usually chill and gentle with him. And when he somehow caught s/o with their friends acting like a goofy crackhead, cracking jokes and messing with said friends, maybe he's surprised at how different than they usually behave. And maybe, possibly a little jealous?

I really love this HC!! Like I think it makes a good soft angst where Gaara, a little jealous, and all kinds of worried that he's holding you back from enjoying who you are. He would overthink so much that he finds himself much more quieter around you lately. Instead of trying to initiate a conversation with you, he's asking himself internally again and again why are you with him when you could be that kind of happier with other people. He feels like he's not worth it.

You'd ask him if there's anything that's bothering him, telling him along the lines that you could talk to him... but as much as he wants to reach out, he ends up trying to avoid it and burying it deeper into himself out of fear of having it look like he was giving up on the relationship already. I kid you not but your first misunderstandings within the relationship would be something he would process internally as a potential breakup kind of thing. The moment he feels like the relationship is not good for you, he would retreat back. You would notice that it was as if he's trying his best to spend less time with you.

The peace never comes easy, and communication would be one of the biggest hurdles in your relationship. He might be understanding but there's still a lot for him to understand when it comes to relationships. It might have been already a very slow progress prior to settling yourselves in a relationship, but the conflict doesn't end there. There will always be a development that you two would either agree or argue about.

Once you two talk it out, he would apologize for misunderstanding everything. Gaara would also thank you for considering him in your thoughts but he assures you that he would love to see you smile and laugh with him like that too. He might not be able to cackle an even louder laughter to compete against yours but he assures you that the soft, quiet smile he does as he takes in the sight of you being so comfortably happy around him is a sign of genuine happiness itself for him.

Imagine being very very sick and you didn’t wanna tell Gaara about it only because yk he’s a busy man. Gaara been noticing how you’ve been acting “strange” { coughing and etc } He asked you about it and you say no, obviously. Your sickness got even worse in the evening making you not wanna eat, or do anything productive. Gaara was really worried for you, as he watch you strugle with your food.

Finally Gaara is so worried at the point when you almost fell off your chair, before Gaara caught you in his arms when he was doing dishes. At this point he knew you weren’t alright so he asked the council to let him have days off🥺 just so he can take care of youuuuuu!!!

as you go to lay down on chest you were coughing very bad. Leaving Gaara to wake up and ask you, “ my love are you alright???” With your voice rough and shaky, you quietly said. “ sorry love.... I just- I- am I having a very bad stomachache ache...” Gaara looked at you with a sad pout, he got up and went to get water and extra fuzzy blankets for you. He looked you in the eye with sadnesses, but than a slight smile as he says, “don’t worry my love I’ll take care of you.:)” As he helps me drink the water, he took you in his arms and held you right, wrapped the blankets around you, and pecked you in the cheek. Imagine if Gaara's s/o wore some new lipgloss and they planted a kiss on his lips or cheek before he goes to work(let's say he's running late and in a rush), without knowing their lips are still drying so it leaves a bit of color on Gaara's lips/cheek. So when our Kazekage is out in public, a lot of people had to stop and double-take, like "Is Lord Kazaekage wearing lipstick??👀" The only way Gaara finds out he has a lipstain on him is someone had to point it out to him, most likely from Kankuro or Temari. 😂

Got this idea from recently buying my first black lipgloss, and it's the one where it takes a long time to dry, or atleast never seems to dry at all😔 I still like it tho lol, and it made me think of wanting to kiss all over Gaara's cute face, leaving lip stains all over him🥰

He's just chillin in his office, probs bored out of his mind and a lil bummed cuz it's his birthday dang it he wants to go be with his fam and his s/o! Oh, I could see this coming! I think there's a high chance that Gaara and his S/O are more into introverted, indoor bonding dates... with that kind of hectic job he has as the Kazekage, to be able to fully rest in the comfort of his home with you is the perfect bond based for him. No stance he has to maintain, no peering eyes... on top of that, he could be openly affectionate towards you. PDA is not really his thing.

Home spa treatment would be an amazing idea for an indoor date! Just you sitting together in a sand bath, cucumbers on your eyes, a face mask for him that specifically caters to his dry skin, a different variation of face mask to cater to your needs on the other hand as well. Him rocking a pale pink, fluffy rabbit hairband, and you rocking it in your favorite color as well. Scented candles, dim-litted rooms. Gaara would offer to exfoliate your skin for you, but he would be so gentle upon doing so that you'll have to ask him to do it a little harder. You'd offer to massage his stiff, shoulder blades as well, and he'd sigh in content how you expertly thread through the pent up knots in his muscles.

Hiii! I just had the sweetest dream about gaara. We were on vacation and going to go to the beach, and for some reason I wanted to put a little makeup on. Then gaara wanted to copy me so he tried putting makeup on but ended up messing up and he was just being all goofy so I told him to sit down so I could wipe it off (he was trying to use foundation as eye shadow 😂) . The next thing I realized, he was sitting in the edge of the bed and I was standing so close to him trying to be sweet and wipe off his makeup and he says “you’ve been really kind to me” and I say “what do you mean I’m always kind” and then he pulls me closer and hugs me and manages to flip me over the bed so that I’m the one laying on the bed and he’s on top. I think he had always been innately sweet and caring of others even with or without the aspect of being a jinchuriki. Being a vessel to Shukaku had been one of the many defining aspects of who he had become into, but he was not the entirety of it. He did not become who he is right now based on that experience alone (the experience that ties him to Naruto) like there are times where I just want to sit down with him and tell him "you are you, because you are you. give yourself the proper credit that you deserve, please."

The sweetness and cheesiness would come running a little late and nervous but as delayed as it may be, you know that it would always be heartfelt and genuine.
