The mirror was your waking nightmare. It felt like every time you looked in it, something grabbed at your throat. Made it hard to breathe. The way your stomach twisted in knots that could make you feel nauseous... it was a lot. You hated doing it. But sometimes it was necessary. To make sure your outfits worked, that your hair was done well. The light makeup that covered your face to keep pimples at bay.
A sigh left your lips, your hand trailing down the side of your face. Then brushing your chest. You struggled a lot with body dysphoria. Being trans masc... wasn't easy. It weighed on you mentally. How you were always reminded you would never fully be who you wanted to be. It sucked. So much. The tears started before you could stop them, just as the door to your room opened. Your girlfriend walked through. Having spent the night at your place. Regina looked to you and frowned as she saw your face in the mirror. Were you... crying? Of course, the blonde knew about your struggles. How hard it was for you to see yourself the way she did.
She loved you. More than she ever loved anybody else. So, it hurt the blonde whenever you got like this. Regina walked over to you, gently wrapping her arms around you from behind. Resting her chin to your head. Her thumb brushing across your skin under your shirt. "Shh, you're handsome. So handsome. Don't listen to the voices."
You felt small. Helpless, even with her words of encouragement. Regina had always been softer with you. You were her one weakness, the soft spot that could never harden. She was sad when you were sad. Happy when you were happy. You made her want to change. Be a better version of herself that would make you happy.
You leaned into her touch. Trying to find that comfort within her words. You knew Regina was trying to change for you. After the bus incident happened, she became softer. Better at comforting. And it certainly helped calm the storm of your mind. Though it was ever present. Even if, just for the moment, it was lingering towards the back of your mind. Instead of being your main focus.
Before you could even protest, Regina's hand covered your lips. Sighing as she used the mirror to look into your eyes." If you aren't about to say something positive about yourself.. don't open your mouth." You huffed at that. She was right. Like she usually was. Sometimes, it annoyed you how well Regina seemed to understand you.
Regina kept you in her arms, whispering sweet praises while she kissed your cheek. Then lower, kissing your earlobe. Before making her way down your neck. All the while whispering praises and compliments," mm, you're such a handsome man." She'd murmur, followed by some... not so PG comments as well. Ones that made your face turn red. Regina laughed a bit when she saw your reaction, turning you to look into her eyes. She kissed your lips. The soft lips sending shivers through your spine and body. Her kisses were good. Addicting. Enough to erase whatever last negative thoughts you had hanging around. It was what you needed. You had Regina. She saw you for you. The way you wanted to be seen. And that was enough for you.
