I’ve recently begun creating wall art in addition to my boxes. The larger areas can be a challenge in perseverance, but I’m quickly falling in love with the results. These pieces are primarily wood burned, but I have experimented a time or two with wood veneers to give more texture. I hope to continue experimenting with mixed media in the future, but the pyrography will always be my first love.

Samoa traditional tattoos being expose

           Pe’a and malu is Samoa finest  artifacts and very significant tattoos. The pe’a is also known as the sogaimiti, it is originally for men, it reprints their courage. The malu are for women, it means shelter or protection of the family. Both tattoos symbolized the pride and integrity of Samoa. Question, can outsiders have a Samoan traditional tattoo? can effeminate have a malu?. Are these people even allowed or does it have any scourge according to the culture?.

          Some say, that  there is no reason why outsiders cannot have the tattoo. What’s shame that  they know zero about the significant of it. Same goes for the Samoans who are now have the tattoos. They can barely speak the language fluently, yet they are very oblivious about the duties pertaining to it.  I have also known some only did it, was just to show off. OH WHAT A SHAME!!!! Ignorant and ignominy they have brought to the culture.

          That's not it. As we all don’t know there are effeminate who have know roaming around with malu. How inappropriate and very disappointed is that. How can these people get away with this somehow? Unbelievable the tattooist. How hard to recognize a guy dressing up like a woman, oh right nowadays everyone has now depend on the money but forgotten who  they are where they have arose. Just as I mentioned before “IGNORANT”.

          It is  sad seeing people ignoring their own culture and  seeing the culture fading away one by one and piece and piece. What is Samoan culture without the things that made it unique? or How does it feel like, being born without a culture?. Well I know, it feels dull, plain and wasted doesn’t it?. Samoa is not just a place of entertainment, but it is also a place that takes priority for anything that matters and its pride.
