would you be able to give some book recs?preferably something historical pls x

sure!historical is a pretty broad category, so i’ve tried to think of a range of time periods & places. i may have got a little carried away.

seeing as i’m obsessed with classics, i couldn’t help but recommend:- the song of achilles or circe - both by madeline miller- any mary renault books (like the persian boy)- i, claudius - robert graves

if you were thinking the tudor period:- any philippa gregory book, like the other boleyn girl.- wolf hall - hilary mantel

if you wanted english period novels:- jane austen & charlotte bronte have you sorted. (pride & prejudice, emma, mansfield park, jane eyre)

books set in victorian london:- all the sherlock holmes books - arthur conan doyle- the diamond of drury lane - julia golding- david copperfield - charles dickens

books about revolutionary europe:- les miserables - victor hugo- a tale of two cities - charles dickens- war and peace - leo tolstoy

if you wanted 19th/20th century american literature:- the great gatsby - f scott fitzgerald- the age of innocence - edith wharton- my antonia - willa cather- grapes of wrath - john steinbeck

if you wanted to read about southern/black america in the 19th/20th century:- the colour purple - alice walker- beloved - toni morrison- to kill a mockingbird - harper lee- the help - kathryn stockett
