I had so much fun baking these pretzel buns. Guess what I did to get that dark tan - what you see in the picture is exactly the colour they turned out on baking after poaching them in a baked baking soda solution.......I did not use the food grade lye but gave a twist. Guess what I did to get that dark world famous pretzel colour without using the lye solution.
