Spent a good chunk of the day working on the civic. Type r headlight, fog lights fixed, second radiator fan wired, strut bar, hood release cable, and aligned the front body panels. Got a new set of tires earlier in the week also. Had to change the tire size from what I normally run due to being back ordered. It dawned on me that my little Civic is a "built" car. Everything on that car has either been changed or modified. I can only think of 12 bolts that my buddy @mariathemiata or myself haven't touched. 8 that hold on the doors and 4 for the hatch. A lot of what we've done wouldn't be noticed by 99.9% of people, but it all matters to me.... Not going to claim I'm working the hardest I could on this engine. Progress from the last two nights, engine on the stand, torn down, head machined, and block cleaned. Letting it dry tonight and painting it black tomorrow. Crank and rod journals looked great, amd cylinders still had the factory cross hatch. Now for the "bad" news, the cam and rockers are worn. Machine shop said I can use them but should look into replacing. Finally pulled the trigger and did a radiator tuck on the civic. Went the diy route with 1st gen Scirocco radiator and inline coolant cap. Bulk of the parts for the Civic transmission have arrived. Speedfactory HD detent springs, Syncrotech 3-4 slider 3-4 hub 5-R slider, and Mfactory 4.6 final drive. Care will be quick not fast with that gearing lol.
