Social Work Month highlights how the profession benefits our society Woodburn Chapter NSDAR Regent Cindie Harper leads effort for gubernatorial proclamation and county commission proclamation in West Virginia Woodburn Chapter NSDAR Members are celebrating this year’s Social Work Month in March with the theme “Social Workers are Essential” to highlight the invaluable contributions social workers make in our society, especially as this nation addresses the Coronavirus pandemic. The Social Work profession was founded by Jane Addams, who was also a NSDAR member, and the first American Woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Cindie Harper, who is the Regent of Woodburn Chapter NSDAR and Alumni of WVU School of Social Work holds the Proclamations from Governor Jim Justice recognizing March 2021 as Social Work Month. A presentation ceremony was not held due to COVID restrictions.
