THE PATTERN IS FINISHED! 😁💃🏼🥰❤️
It took so much time and effort. Lol. Especially getting the letters to look uniform and not weird to me. 🙈🙈 And I made them a little like shaded or whatever. 🥹☺️😁
The original idea in pic 2! XD
The Aida probably won't be black because I don't hate my eyes that much. Haha.
But now I gotta pull the floss colors and see if they'll work for real or if I need to tweak the colors. I probably should have already done that but eh. I probably have the colors, but if not I got the DMC shade-card with real floss. Heh. I LOVE that thing. 🙈🙈🙈
Also probably gonna test out the backstitching text (lyrics from Stargazing by myles smith, duh) and see if if it should be done in one strand or two. 🤔🤔🤔
I've also saved the pattern for both 14 count & 16 count aida. I usually do 14 count, but might give 16 count a go here. We shall seeee.
Also the dots in between the lyrics were supposed to be some glass beads, but they might end up small stars to tie into the whole 'Stargazing' thing. 🌠🌃
Now if 911 could just reunite my boys already. 😭😭😭😭 I'm dyin over here. Plus, ugh, no new ep this week. 😔 Might have to just rewatch stuff. *dramatic sigh*

Started doing cross stitch in my spare time for fun and I finally almost finished my first project which is a Riolis kit of foxes (of course) and I decided to use a different color for the backstitch which has left me running out of the color before I'm done. Sure, I will just get more of the color....
Alas, I have discovered this particular brand requires you to directly contact them and they will give the details to another shop for you to buy from cuz they do not give out the color codes due to counterfitting. Plus it is a different Floss material so just matching to a different Floss type will not work. 😭 It is very much a small issue, but I was excited to finish it.
#I also would rather bundle it with another purchase because I do not want to pay 4 dollars shipping for a 60 cent item#But also my foxes... I want to finish my foxes#Puppy poops#I am enjoying cross stitch a lot tho it has been nice I already have like two more projects lined up hehe#This was also def a me problem I used the wrong color on purpose but it definitely looks better imo hehe

Had this idea in Nov 2022, and finally started it in Sept this year. I got side tracked by some other projects (Halloween costume, published a book), but finally finished it. Realized I forgot his scar as I was taking the finished pic tho 😭. Anyways, I tested out some new stitches and techniques, so of which I love and some not so much. Gapping is worst than I thought and my attempt at perspective is off, but over all I'm really proud. This was the first person I've ever embroidered.
Of course I've used backstitch and surface satin stitch for the majority, but I added in French knots for the buttons, blanket stitch for the horn details, and a take on short and long in 2 tones for the hair. Everything was done with 1-3 strands.
Some details didn't come out the way I wanted, but I learned a lot and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Progress pics/some up close details below-
I had a better ear details but ended up sewing over it and putting a new one on top. Struggled with gapping since I was using a LOT of gray/blonde on my white stabilizer which is washed off here.
The hands TERRIFIED me, and I'm not too happy with my encroaching satin stitch on Ith, but that's okay.
I used 2 colors for the hair and really like the effect it had. Also hard to notice in the completed piece but I tried to do shadows with like a darker yellow on the side of the shirt. WI also tried to give the buttons on coat some perspective of like closer and farther by using 4 strands on 1 side and 3 strands on the other but I probably wouldn't do that again lol😅
Progress pics kinda look better about gapping lol, also the hands and face scared me so much I left them for last.

Hello! List 5 things that make you happy, then put this in the askbox of the last ten people that reblogged something from you! Get to know your mutuals and followers :D
Hello!!! Thank you for sending me this :D!! And happy Friday!
1. My pets! Nadja the chipit mix and Obie the lovely orange gentleman and Hazel the office kitty. (I will never miss an opportunity to share pet photos lol)
2. Embroidery! I have issues with my hands due to RA and it is surprisingly hand friendly for me. I love doing kits, especially those that use simple stitches to add interesting texture. I could backstitch for hours.
3. Playing dress up!!! By which I mean Im going through some kind of renaissance of my personal style. Lots of skirts. I loooove going to the thrift store and scrounging around until I put together An Outfit. I haven't worn pants in WEEKS and I have never felt so confident and myself.
4. Trying new foods! In particular, savory/salty/creamy flavors. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, and if I find a sweet I do like it's usually either paired with coffee or something refreshing like lemon. About 5 years ago now, I went to my first ramen restaurant with my now husband and I jokingly refer to it as a religious experience. Tonkatsu, my beloved.
5. Reading! I read books voraciously in junior/high school, then switched to fanfic and read that like a maniac for years. Then I ventured into my local library one day in 2019 and now mostly read books. I am one of those crazy ppl who read 50+ books a year (would you believe I still despair that there are too many books I want to read and not enough time? 😭) I read on my hour lunch break every day and that's about what that amounts to for me - time once I get home from work is at somewhat of a premium so there's not much time for it at any other part of my day to day life - so I'm not like. Specifically trying to reach some sort of number of books read goal. I just love to read.

Mirabilia Designs #175: Ophelia WIP conversion by Dewn Rivera. Pattern designed by Nora Corbett.
“I just can’t recall how many revisions I made for this conversion and at last I settled for this final look. I loooooooove it so much!!! 🥰 I’m really having hard time to pull of this look. I wanted her face to be realistic just like L&L Angelica and be different to my previous conversion. Addition to this, I made her a new hand just like how detailed the current design was. I love it too ❤️ Doing conversion is really challenging. And I have this instance that I changed backstitch color of the new hand thrice I think just to find the right color of my taste 😭 Anyway, will I park this project for the meantime and do my 3 wips hehehe. And im so happy I made a lot of progress for ophelia 😉 Happy Stitching and Stay safe always! ❤️❤️❤️ ”
