In the Caretaker Luke AU, the galaxy responds with their version of a crab rave when the news about Anakin's death goes public. The Jedi know they can't REALLY respond that way, obviously, but they certainly don't stop the rest of the refugees on Tanalorr from partying that day (and night, and maybe the next morning), and maybe they sneak down to the party for a drink or two and to bask in the joy everybody's feeling.
