Everyone bellyaching about how Trigun Stampede is “giving away all the plot twists right in the first episode” needs to watch this video and then go outside and sit under a tree for awhile.

#trigun #trigun stampede #XI Yammers #tbh it's a feat and a miracle that the 90s anime is as coherent as it is given how LITTLE the writers had to work with at the time #with that in mind it's little wonder that they made the audience work for every scrap of information #especially about the characters #because they didn't really HAVE all that much in the way of a grand overarching plot #so turning every bit of freely-given worldbuilding or backstory from the manga into a grand mystery only makes sense #however the new anime doesn't need to do that #because we have the entire manga now #it doesn't need to play coy about whether we're on an alien planet or not or about whether Vash has a twin brother #those are things that the manga itself freely told us very early on so why can't Stampede?#the longer i listen to the naysayers go on the more it just sounds like people are pissed this won't be a carbon copy of the '98 anime #or a beat for beat shot for shot recreation of Maximum #and like. we have the '98 anime. we have Maximum. why can't Stampede be its own thing separate from both of them?#why can't it try some new things or play with new aesthetics the way the '98 anime was allowed to?
