not to bring race into this (but i'm, like, black. so it comes with the territory), but the politics of the (alleged) shooter does matter, actually. politics in this country can be, and is, racialized. and this nationwide rallying behind the actions of what a (potentially right-wing) white shooter did is something that would Never happen if the shooter was nonwhite, or (god forbid) a black guy. so maybe the politics of a white vigilante is inconsequential for Some of y'all, but i don't live in that world.
