PLZZ-👀+ first meeting+ Stannis and Helaena

"I am sorry about Baldric. I hit him for you."

"Aegon calls me weird all the time," he called her worse, on occasion, "and you do not need to hit anyone for me. I can do it myself if I want to."

"It was still mean, and-and, I am to be a knight one day! Knights protect women and the innocent, it is part of the vow!" Their was passion in her cousin's dark purple eyes in spite of his pouting, and it brought a tight-lipped grin to Helaena's face as she tried to hold back a snicker. She failed, however, and it came out as a wavering snort her mother would have called "unbecoming."

"See if I ever protect you again." Stannis clenched his hands into fists and went to turn around, but Helaena grabbed the hem of his doublet before he could fully spin away from her.

"What?"

"Do you agree with him that I'm weird?"

"No...maybe? I like it though, you're interesting."

Helaena worked her jaw, lavender eyes wide as she looked up at him from where she crouched by a bed of flowers, studying him. He stood completely still as he looked down at her; like a mantis, except he would not eat her.

Finally, she released Stannis. "I will tell you when I need protecting, then you can do it."

A bright smile spread across Stannis's face, a smaller, more subdued mirror of the expression pulling up the corners of Helaena's own mouth.

"Can I sit with you?" He asked. She nodded in response, company was nice sometimes.
