I think people often forget or don't even know that visual disabilities and blindness are also a spectrum much like other physical disabilities, and that often things like glasses are your only step away from leaving you unable to do a lot of basic tasks (at least well)
Recently I broke my glasses at the bridge and I've been unable to keep them glued or taped together (mostly due to my resources), and I am legally blind, meaning my vision cannot be fully corrected without glasses. Granted I am on the mildly severe spectrum of this so others might have it better or worse (im -8 though ive needed an updated prescription for a while, for reference) but I've had to navigate without my glasses for a few days now and it's made things, exceptionally difficult. Especially since I live alone and there's no one to come around and help me, so I've more or less had to do things via muscle memory and what little I can make out with all the blurriness. But there are still some things I straight up cannot do, or are safe for me to do, and its become. very frustrating to say the very least. It's also kind of reinstated my thought that I think glasses/lenses prices are absolutely fucking insane especially when it means the difference for a basic quality of life for so many people
