my supervisor BOUGHT ME A BOOK?? because i've been working so hard and he thought i'd appreciate it and we had talked about books briefly before? what if i cry

#don't talk to me about manipulation bosses etc #he doesn't do my paychecks and in fact has helped me game the system to get paid for hours of work i've done off clock #also i have a union job #this was from his own money #a hard cover really nice edition #it's a fucking hefty book though #1299 pages?? insane first book gift to give someone #but i did start and finish the tainted cup yesterday (400ish pages)#so perhaps not unreasonable to assume i can handle this chonker #except. he doesn't know the length of books i read lmao #so i stand by the fact that it's a little wild to give me this #fuji chats
