Quick life update -
Some good news and bad news. Starting with the good, I got a new job (yay!). It's only part-time hours but a split shift, so it will still keep me pretty busy. Plus I have a lot of paperwork and training to do before I officially start (on December 2nd!), and then I'll have an adjustment period before I feel comfortable. The bad news, my dad is having a lot of medical issues right now and has been in and out of the hospital. No idea what the cause of everything is, he has upcoming tests that will hopefully finally clear up the confusion, but we did recently find out that he broke his back in September and somehow no one noticed until now, so... that sure is something! Anyway, the reason why I'm sharing - writing has been slow. For reasons stated above... and will likely continue to be slow... for the next upcoming weeks. There will definitely be a Nobody Feels Like You update before the new year, but I'm not sure when. Hopefully, after I settle into my new job, and those medical tests previously mentioned come back with some explanation for what's going on with my dad, I'll be able to focus more on writing. Thank you all for your continued support and understanding in the meantime. <3
#so much for doing nanowrimo this year lol#but I'm honestly feeling pretty okay and optimistic rn :) just busy#lovesick writing#nobody feels like you fic#next chapter is 5K long so far

Ok i finally have a vague idea for nanowrimo this year we’re gonna do something that’s NOT fantasy so we don’t have to do a fuckton of research and worldbuilding we are just keeping it simple and hoping for the best
Anyway if you are also doing nanowrimo this year feel free to add me @gaymee we can be writing buddies ✌🏽
#i didn’t do super great last year but i think it’s because that specific world needed so much worldbuilding#and i wasn’t excited enough about the idea to figure it out#so this time we’re just gonna wing it with a simple setting and let the story and characters carry it#and hope for the best lol#nanowrimo

reread Ekleipsis bc I got some very nice comments on it and wanted to revisit it 2 years later and u know what?? I think it still holds up p well! There are slight typos and parts I wish I could’ve lengthened, foreshadowed more, or gotten Deep into the lore/characters abt, but considering I was busting out a chapter a day and had it done in a dang month I do think it’s pretty good as a lil story!! Would love to do more art for it or revisit the world in some way some day. Babies first real Big Original work 🥺 in my mind it’s still kind of the first draft version, but I’m still proud regardless… ❣️
#I do recommend the ao3 version atm bc it has less typos however it does have SOME and when I have more time I’ll comb it again and fix them#also lol name a more iconic duo than me and doing monthly challenges#I’ve done so many at this point I’ve lost count#that was nanowrimo. I’ve done the 30 days of otps challenges TWICE.#100 fanmews challenge.#(one a day)#30 day magical girl challenge. 30 day monster challenge. that year long drawing challenge#daily may LAST MONTH!!!#I LOVE setting little goals and going ham#I kind of want to do nano again but maaaybe not this year#my year challenge has been keep posting 1 weekly page of the comic each week all year#and so far I haven’t missed a week halfway into the year! I was one day late on one but rly. not so bad#also I put my Ekleipsis ocs on AF I am curious if anyone will draw them? :0#excited 2 see which ocs ppl are drawn to the most eeeee I’m so excited for art fight#I’m considering doing speedpaints for all my attacks or even trying daily attacks ??#or both of those things. maybe#it will depend on my energy and schedule around then I’m not going to hold myself to that very strictly#oh speaking of monthly challenges tho next year I would LOVE to try femslash Feb#and also maybe OCtober or huetober or even inktober again bc I did do that one year too#OR MERMAY!! omg I’ve never done mermay that’s CRAZY (loves mermaids so much I have a mermaid tat)

Writeblr Introduction
Just learned what a writeblr intro is so I'm gonna make one before I go to bed lol
I've already done something like this a few days ago but that was when I had no clue what I was doing lmao, so might as well make a more in depth one
About me:
20, she/her, bi
American
I write mostly fantasy and urban fantasy, and honestly i dont think i've ever written a story that was non-fantasy lol
Started writing when I was 10, but it was mostly Warrior Cats fanfiction on Wattpad lol. I went through a writing slump for most of highschool but last year I decided to get back into it since I'm not doing anything else lol
I like to read fantasy and classic lit, also anything with vampires. I also have a soft spot for slowburn romances where the main characters dont kiss until, like, the 4th book heehee
In love with anything gothic, vampire, and wlw 👩❤💋👩
I think one of my more niche interests is any early 2000s fantasy/sci-fi movie with a nu-metal/rock/alternative soundtrack like Queen of the Damned and The Crow. They are just...*chefs kiss*
My current stories:
A Chant for Blood (Formerly known as Account of Calamity)
Account of Calamity is a gothic victorian fantasy about a Grand Marshal, Karliah Helisende, and a blood-drinking fiend, Yorick Gwynplaine, who work together to investigate the mysterious portals that spawn dangerous creatures into the city of Isarnan, all the while Karliah is being haunted by the mysterious ancient temple that watches over her every move.
I'm currently working on the second draft, and I may start looking for beta readers once I'm finished, although I know I'm not far from finished with this novel. I also plan to make it a 4 or 5 book series, and slowly add a slowburn romance.
12/30/24 - Second draft has been finished!!
Looking for beta readers! Look here!
Our Demonic Hearts - The Craven Pact Series #1
Our Demonic Hearts is a urban fantasy about a cambion woman, Ana Kravens, haunted by her past. Taking place in a small Mississippi town, a man she went through a traumatic incident with, Beau Motloe, shows up on her doorstep one day with a deal; help him find his missing mother, and he'll give back the memories she lost during the traumatic incident. Her father, a demonic creature of unknown origin, wants nothing more than the Motloes dead, claiming that they were the very reason his daughter was almost killed 6 years ago. Ana goes against her father's wishes and accepts Beau's deal, suspecting that her father isn't telling the whole truth about that fatal night.
It is completed and available on Wattpad and Royal Road!! It was just a small project I had done for Nanowrimo, and has been edited at least once before being published. However, I plan to make it a trilogy and maybe have some spin-offs. This story is fairly new, but most of the characters are at least 5 years old and I love them very much <3
What I plan for 2024:
Finish the second draft of A Chant for Blood and look for beta readers(In the beta reader phase!) ✅
Start the second novel of The Craven Pact Series(Outline complete)
Write a short story/novella or two taking place within the A Chant for Blood universe. My brain is currently exploding with ideas rn ✅
Write a short story about Ana Kraven's mom and how she met Marchosias, Ana's father.
Plan something for Nano?? Idk where I'll be in November lol (Finish a project I started in february, which is To Hear a Lovebird!)
I'm interested in following other writers and reading everybody's stories! I would also be interested in a beta read/beta swap ^^
Other sites I'm on:
Wattpad: LillithOfBees
Royal Road: SimonneBethel

I know almost nothing about NaNoWriMo but I would love to hear what you mean about "the last five years". What have they don't in the last years (before this current bullshit) to make the experience worse than before?
Hey!
So, I first heard about NaNoWriMo in like...2005? 2006?...and made my own first attempt in 2012, so I've been around for a while.
For me personally, three major things stand out as being issues:
In 2019, NaNo rolled out a new webpage, consolidating what had once been two different webpages - the main NaNo page and the Camp NaNo page. This roll out was, to put it gently, a fucking disaster, and broke much of the website, and at least for me made it nigh-unusable. It also nerfed the forums.
Late last year, grooming allegations came out against moderators and staff. You can read more about it here. I never looked into it much, and it was very difficult to tell what actually happened with the backlash - what was proven, etc. - and I just don't know much about it, but it certainly made me extremely wary.
And the current nonsense, which it sounds like you're aware of.
I've also known multiple regional coordinators (ML = Municipal Liaisons) and while they've not shared specifics and even if they had, I wouldn't feel at liberty to share what was shared with me, the general consensus is that the treatment of the volunteer MLs has gotten progressively worse, and the forums and boards increasingly unusable, to the extent that a lot of people I know have "broken off" their regions - my home region, for example, operates a writer group, founded originally through NaNo, now completely separate from NaNo because NaNo fucked up just that bad. Like I said, I don't know the details, but I trust my friends that if they say it was untenable, it was untenable.
All in all, since the website merge, they've made it clear they don't care about the feedback they receive, seemed to almost be going out of their way to damage the community-building aspects of the webpage that were always one of the most valuable parts of the experience, and just generally haven't managed things like the scandal in #2 well.
Honestly, I basically stopped using NaNo after the merge. I managed, I think, two more years after that (not winning NaNo, but I won a couple Camp NaNos with my own word count goal in, like, 2019 and 2020).
The reason the current issues have prompted me to delete is that, once upon a time, it was required to enter typed text to "validate" a word count. I have no idea if NaNo retained that text in anyway, nor do I have any idea what the terms of NaNo's agreement with ProWritingAid is. All I know that even the possibility that they've got my data stored, even the chance that they might use my words to train PWA's LLM, is enough for me to go from "I no longer use this or wish to us this" to "I am immediately deleting."
Hopefully, deleting actually removes my data. I wasn't able to take the time to read their updated ToS enough to actually be sure. But it's the one thing in my power to do, so I did it.
Sorry I don't have more detail to make rubbernecking the drama more fun, lol. :D

HEYYYY!!
for the fic writer game: how about 🦋 📗🧪📚🎯🔮andddd 🎨
thank you!
Hi lucky!!!!! Thank you for all the questions, they’re keeping me company at work 💛
🦋 Which character is your favorite to write?
For jjk it’s easily Megumi. He’s my favorite character so maybe I’m a little biased, but he also has some of the most complex thought processes and personality traits that I love dipping into. I also loved writing Oikawa for my Haikyuu fic, he’s just like me so it was easy to get into his mind lol. It’s also very easy to project onto him.
📗 Do you want to write something outside of fan fiction? If so, what about?
I actually have a 3-4 fantasy book series that I want to write. I have the entirety of the first book outlined and plotted out, but now I actually need to sit down and write the damn thing which I’m hoping to use nanowrimo to do. I have about 45k words written for it but I want to finish it!!!!!! A major theme I’m working with is using some lore as a metaphor for growing up closeted in a homophobic and religious household/society. Very queer, very angsty, very emotional for me.
🧪 Do you research for your fics?
100%. I research even the most minimal thing because I fear being inaccurate lol. I’m doing a lot of treesearch (slang I’ve adopted from cringefail moots) for my vamp au. I need to be aware of how guns really work and the care that goes into keeping them useable, as well as info on shogunates.
📚 Is there a fanfic or fanfic writer you recommend?
Oh, dozens! I’m just going to tag all my mutuals so this ask isn’t thousands of years long lol. There’s something for everyone!: @kattythingz (who also happens to be my wonderful beta reader) @philosophiums @lyrebirdswrites @spacejammie-eimmajecaps @alonelystargazer @booksandpaperss @sunnyyflowerrs @uriekukistan @kat-likes-writing @kentuckyfriedmegumi @earthtodora @yearnwormwrites
🎯 Do you have a writing milestone you’re working towards?
Nothing specific. I just tend to accept whatever writing comes out lol, but I do try to have a goal of at least 5-6k per chapter that I post but that’s about it.
🔮 An advice for writers working through burnout or writer’s block?
You tell me man. I’m struggling rn trying to finish up college au before november because I want to write more of my vamp au, but I need to have this story concluded. It’s given me so much, I want to give it a wonderful and purposeful send off.
But for burnout I say take long breaks. You’ll feel guilty, but take that break. You don’t force a car to keep running after a tire has blown out, you let it sit until you change the tire. For me, writer’s block usually occurs when something isn’t right with the content: either a plotline, a scene, dialogue, or just direction I’m in heading in being wrong. I’ll change up what I originally had going and that almost always fixes it.
🎨 If someone were to make fanart of your fic what fic or scene would you hope to see?
I’ve been blessed enough to have several wonderful pieces of art drawn for my work, here and here. They made my entire life seeing that someone loved what I created enough to create something new in return 💛💛💛💛💛
I’m not picky at all lol. Whatever scene speaks to them and inspires them to write is what I want to see, I love seeing what scenes and fics have affected others!!!!

ok so here's how the next 2 weeks of writing are looking:
The Sunday Affair Chapter 8- Graceland is mostly finished, but will probably be the last thing I update. We'll see.
What Makes A Man Chapter 14- Cursed Be the Hands that Formed You will be posted before Halloween! Some seasonal spooky reanimation work!
For the Thrill of It Chapter 2- Memento Mori will ALSO update before Halloween! This one's been sitting in my wips for MONTHS and I just want to get it out there in time for prime monsterfucker season.
I have about 4 blurbs/ficlets/drabbles on the backburner that I'd like posted + archived as warmups. Sorry to those that sent prompt requests and then I got distracted by the most recent spy au chapter lol
For November, I know NaNoWriMo is totally dead, but I do think I am going to pivot slightly into uhhhh [Personal Project] for the month anyways. I know that's like, one of the scariest phrases to hear from a mid fic writer, but I've been doing a lot of prep work and research on this thing. I promise, it's its own thing, not like, spies AU but I fifty shades the names. So there may be less fics but more little warm up writings next month while I wrap up the first draft.
FINALLY! I want to do something the last week of November for the one year (omfg) anniversary of me posting my stuff on ao3! (uh I might be fudgin d numbers, it's the 1 year mark of me starting Staying Right Here actually). It's been a wild year and I've learned so so so much, and I've still got a LONG way to go. I just.... don't know what to do yet, lol.

ok so i'm doing nanowrimo but i'm not using the website and i just moved to a new city so i don't really have, like. a community to do it with. but i do desperately want to talk to other people abt our progress and encouraging each other and whatever. but also i don't really want to move into being a more writeblr oriented blog because that's not super what i want to be doing here and also i'm probably gonna end up writing fic which...often isn't what writeblr is about. do you see all my issues.
anyways so. would it be annoying if i posted daily updates on what i'm doing? i've posted vague updates every now and then in past years, but this would be a more structured thing. and i would ofc want to interact w anyone else doing a challenge or just writing smth in general via the posts. idk it's just an idea that i'm tossing around rn but...would anyone would interested in hearing about my month or would it just be annoying to hear about?
to be clear. this poll will probably not completely determine what i decide to do. it's my blog and i can post whatever i want lol. but i am curious to see if anyone would be interested, and im not gonna lie, y'all's opinions will have an impact no matter what i decide

hihi verum! i wanted to ask how it’s been writing your first story! what’s the process like for you? has it gotten tough to stick with? how do you go about issues in your writing?
hope you have a great day :>
Hello! Thank you for your questions and excuse me for answering a bit late (I like to take my time, lol)
How has It been writing your first story?
Writing Verum has had a little up, then a giant down and now it has been going up again since this year. The first book took me three years to complete, while it is only more or less 15 k long! I began the second book this year in April, and I think it's at about 40 k words right now, nearing the end of season 1. So at the moment, it is going great!
What's the process like for you?
I write everything down that comes to my mind. Be it a whole book or a very small detail to some alien species' biology. That's kind of how I build the story in my head. When I begin with a book, I write down all my ideas for the book and what should roughly happen in the different parts. One to five sentences are enough, though sometimes I also write down more, depending on how much I already got in my mind.
When I wanna write a part, I first make a description of it, where I just write down everything that comes to my mind and start to plot. It should be at least 500 words long, though recently it's been getting more and more. My newest description is over 2.6 k words long, longer than my minimum word count of 1.5 k, woopsies.
Once that is done I start actually writing the part. Like I already mentioned, my minimum is 1500 words, but my parts have been becoming longer too. The latest part is over 7 k words long, also woopsies.
I always give myself one month to write 10 k. And until now, I have always reached it. I use NaNoWriMo to keep track of that. Giving myself a goal to reach has really helped me!!!
I edit in between of my "writing months". For example, I write three parts, edit them, write another three parts, edit all six of them, write another three parts, edit all nine of them, and so on and forth.
Not sure if I understood your question right, but I hope this answer is good enough!
Has it gotten tough to stick with it?
Writing the first book really has been tough. I had no... Discipline nor motivation. That's also probably why it's not that good. It's kind of half assed, I guess?
But since writing the second book it has been going wonderful! The toughest part of it is actually figuring out how to write some things, or when there are plot holes and I don't know how to fix them. Or simply just beginning to write. But once I start another month, I have no other choice but to write.
How do you go about issues in your writing?
So, while I write the whole part for the very first time (after the description), I try to ignore all issues and questions that pop up and simply just write them into the text (like this). One of the simplest issues is for example:
There's a part where Arushi and Zri'Kla go hunting. They live in an Indian jungle, but I don't know what kind of animals live in an Indian jungle. I need one though that isn't too big to carry, but it also needs to have enough flesh on it to feed them for a little bit. So instead of thinking about what animal it is while writing, I simply just write down something like this; "The arrow pierced the (animal)'s flesh". I solve all issues while editing.
But when it comes to issues that affect the plot and stuff like that, I have write down the questions on notes. I often think about Verum throughout the day, so my questions often just get randomly answered. I just need to write it down before I might forget it again.
I think my own brain sometimes gaslight me though. I have a question and a simple answer that is not good enough. I look for a better one, but can't find one. And then suddenly I think that the first answer is alright I think it's a form of giving up.
Sorry for this wall of text! Hope I didn't ramble too much.

Ryen, you magical human being. 🦄
Teach me your ways. 🤩
I'm serious.
How do you do it!!? How do you write banger after banger? 🤘🏻
*bows down* 🙇🏻♀️
Here are a few of my questions. Please ignore if they're too personal. 🥰
How long have you been writing? 🗓️
Are there any books you recommend one should read/study to improve their writing skills? 📚
Any writing communities/website recommendations? 🫂
whoa, thank you so much?? this is very nice of you to say! i can answer the questions, too, though i don't really have an answer for the third one other than searching for writer servers bc i would rec nanowrimo but not anymore!!
but as for writing? i've been writing since.. 2007? oh my god i'm old lol but to be fair, i took a five-years long break from 2014-2019, starting back up again to update my aot fic five years later LMAOOO people were in the comments like "holy shit is this real??" dlkjfskl but anyway.
any books? honestly anything that grabs your attention! fantasy, thriller, sci-fi, whatever genre you vibe with or at least find interesting.
broaden your horizons, read and look up words you don't know or understand, look for writing styles that resonate with you. like for me, i did nottt enjoy passages that had 2840 sentences describing the scenery or food (redwall i love you but i'm looking at you lol) but i enjoy quick/fighting/action scenes, and being challenged as a reader instead of being given everything. just see what works for you!
if you want specific books i myself liked, that would have to be another list hahaha

how it started -> how it's going:
(left: a 10-year-old sketch of a friend's oc; kiya if you're still out there i hope you're well. right: an éowyn from last year i'm much happier with now, lmao)
it's about a year since i really got back into posting fanart! and it's been a lot of fun and you all have been very nice, and i want to get the art bug out of my system before i tackle nanowrimo this year, so i'm taking art requests all through september! send me a character, get a drawing, i'll keep going until i get sick of it (or until october 1, whichever comes first).
guidelines? info? idk i've never done this before:
open for requests september 1 through september 30 (although i do reserve the right to quit early if it turns out i've wildly misjudged things)
everybody gets at least a flat-color headshot (digital or traditional), but you may end up with a rendered painting if i'm on a roll. we'll see how this goes!
similarly, the most i'll commit to up-front is a single character per request. you're also welcome to send in pairings if you like but a) poses with multiple people are way harder and i'm lazy and b) i'm an extremely picky bastard about shipping, so, like, be emotionally prepared to just get whichever half of your duo i like better ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
just to keep this sorta manageable i'm gonna say tolkien book characters only, but anything is fair game within that band - if you've got an obscure blorbo from the appendices, or a popular blorbo i never post about, now's your chance to send 'em in.
okay! think that's about it! if this goes well i might do it again next year; if it goes poorly we'll just pretend it never happened lol. have fun!
#j r r tolkien#the hobbit#lord of the rings#silmarillion#tolkien fanart#feel free to reblog this; in the unlikely event it gets totally out of control i’ll just quit early#btw if we're mutuals or you've been following me for a while you get multifandom privileges (in moderation & subject to my despotic whim)

nano 2023 let's gooo
Well, friends, it's that time of year again. Why I have once again decided to leap straight from Whumptober to Nanowrimo, no one knows, but here we go.
The difference from 2022 to 2023: last year, for both Whumptober and Nano, I was "playing to win" (so to speak —playing against myself, of course), while this year I wasn't/will not be. Like, if I end up writing 50,000 words this November, great!
But. I have an issue with being competitive (again, only against myself; I hate competing against others in most contexts) and I know I will get obsessive about 1667 words every day and getting every single badge, etc., etc.
So I'm just...not.
I don't have a word count goal. The goal is simply to finish the first draft of angsty heist wip. If I can, great. If not, great. I started it in April, got distracted by TQOL and life, and the poor story's been languishing around the midpoint since I put it aside. I think if I can push beyond the midpoint, I'll be all right. But even if that turns out not to be true—oh well!
I'm still going to work on TQOL, and since I've fallen into editing TPOT and have been looooooving that process, I'm going to keep doing that, too. So this Nano is really just going to be about doing the writing things I want to do and that make me happy, and if angsty heist wip gets finished as part of that journey, well, bonus.
Is this more a #CalmWriMo as coined by @winterandwords? Why, I suppose it is. Thanks for putting forth the idea and the hashtag. 😊
Anyway. Happy November, happy Nanowrimo, happy Calmwrimo, happy another day of being alive, and happy writing!
Bonus lines for anyone who made it to the bottom of this ramble lolololol.
From The Queen of Lies chapter whatever-the-hell-it-is-now-this-one-used-to-be-chapter-7:
In the faintest reaches of her heart, she allowed herself to grieve ever so little, and to wonder if she would ever see him again.
I made it to Chapter 30 in editing The Prince of Thieves, oh god oh god:
“I don’t know anything else,” she says, her voice shaking. She’s half off the floor, frozen now, breath coming in little bursts. I know, whether I live beyond today or not, I will never be able to forget this moment—her terrified gasping, her wide eyes, the way her chest rises and falls so fast it’s hard to follow. My hand tingles, fuzzy and warm in memory of how it clung to hers all night, and I am struck with how much the idea of Hatchett ending Bree Cooper’s life threatens to rip me apart from the inside.
nothing for angsty heist wip lol I'm sure those will be forthcoming throughout the month

*Sorry for the repost! In the process of fixing a mistake, I accidentally deleted the original post. This mod and Tumblr are not on good terms right now. lol BUT! We added one more fic and it's a doozy! Check it out! And hopefully there are no more mistakes. *crossing fingers
- Scarlet It's NaNoWriMo! While we are busy creating new fics and art and rec lists and everything under the sun for our fav ship, what about some self-recs? Here are some of our fav Snarry works made by us! As we look forward to accomplishing our goals, we got to give appreciation to the works we've done in the past. <3
Art
🎨 Little Christmas story - @flymetosnarryland (AO3) with a snippet on Tumblr
🎨 Severus in red + Under the Influence Harry - @ofnightsndsongs (AO3)
Choose Your Own Adventure
🌸 What Comes Next (And How to Like It) - @likelightinglass (AO3) Rated E, Word Count 28.6k
A choose your own adventure fic! You are Severus Snape. You survived against all odds, and now it's time to take life into your own hands. What will you do with this gift of a second chance, and how will you find your happy ending? Your happy ending is pretty much always Harry Potter, but there's so many fun ways to get there.
Fanfic
📚 B.R.E.D - Elffaw Rated E, Word Count 5.3k
“You have been summoned here today,” he said, each word crisp and clear, “to partake in a physical examination required by the Ministry itself; in other words, you will be B.R.E.D.”
📚 Certain Dark Things - @liladiurne (AO3) Rated E, Word Count 50.3k
“You want me. I know you do.” I was too worn-out by then to even deny it. In the light of day, with only the summer wind and the cicadas to hear, it didn’t seem necessary to hide it. “It doesn’t matter, Harry. This can never happen.” He stared at me some more, and I did my best not to falter under those shimmering eyes. “I won’t tell anyone, if that’s what you’re worried about,” he assured me.“ I know you wouldn’t,” I added, insisting on the conditional. I didn’t like the way he’d spoken as if it had already happened. As if I had already lost. Perhaps I already had. In which Severus takes a trip to Italy, thinking he'll have a quiet time at the Malfoys' villa, but Harry has other plans. Written for prompt #182: AU. Harry never lived with the Dursleys. He was adopted by the reformed Malfoys as an infant. He is secretly in love with his adopted father's best friend, Severus Snape.
📚 Contempt - @danpuff-ao3 (AO3) Rated E, Word Count 20k
Harry hates Snape, and he always will. (He will, won’t he?)
📚 Courting Day - wendymarlowe Rated M, Word Count 42.8k
It's Courting Day: seventh- and eighth-year students get the chance to declare their intentions to formally woo each other. The only way for Harry to avoid being a matrimonial target is to put in a declaration of his own. Surely if he picks someone who would never in a million years accept his suit, he'll escape unscathed...
📚 dream a little dream of me - @dandelionstars (AO3) with art by @acydpop (AO3) Rated T, Word Count 4.6k
While Severus was not a strong enough Seer to receive complete soulmate dreams, unfortunately, he had just enough power to catch fleeting moments of his soulmate. These flashes of intense joy were more of a curse than a blessing. Despair was suffocating when his hopes were dashed again and again like carved crystal, inevitably shattered on the floor. A Snarry Soulmate AU
📚 For I Have Found Salvation - @lumosatnight (AO3) Rated E, Word Count 7.1k
Severus is a priest, and Harry is the parishioner who may just make him break his vows of celibacy.
📚 Harry Potter’s Avada Kedavra Wedding - whythehellnothavefun Rated M, Word Count 11.4k
(From The Book of Terms And Their Definitions, page 101) Avada Kedavra Wedding: noun, informal, see also: Avada Kedavra Marriage An enforced or hurried wedding, due to one member being pregnant or under blackmail, potentially to gain access to another’s vault(s) and/or properties. (See also: Muggle Oxford English Dictionary, shotgun wedding/shotgun marriage)
📚 Invisible String - @givereadersahug (AO3) Rated G, Word Count 3.7k
The first time Harry saw Snape's black eyes — him truly acknowledging Snape's existence beyond him being his mean professor — it was the night after Harry killed Professor Quirrell. He was dreaming, and in his dreams, he was screaming. Harry dreams of Severus over the years.
📚 On the Origins of Dementors - DarkTony Rated G, Word Count 2.6k
Amidst the pages of tomes that now remain unread, there a story, a fable, a legend goes of a man made of misery…
📚 Sir Saisir - @coconutice22 (AO3) Rated E, Word Count 27k
Some things that glitter are gold. Twenty years after defeating Lord Voldemort, Severus has a meet-cute at a, ahem, private members' club.
📚 The Beat of Their Own Drum - @aeternumregina (AO3) Rated M, Word Count 2.4k
Harry sees Snape dancing at a bar, and is instantly enthralled by this new, carefree person who barely seems to resemble his old teacher.
📚 The Way Death Clutches At Life - @tax-onomic (AO3) Rated E, Word Count 7k
Death is permanent, unless it is not.
📚 This is not my beautiful wife - Klari Rated M, Word Count 35.9k
What happened after Harry smashed up Dumbledore’s office? With Sirius dead and his plans to run away from the Wizarding World on hold, Harry is on the edge— literally, and Severus manages to learn rather a lot about him at the top of the Astronomy Tower.
📚 Wish not for a soul that is full of sin - @serenaew (AO3) Rated T, Word Count 4.7k
After all, a flighty soul could not return to the water, or to the earth, as they maintained all life eventually should. (What one did not have, they believed, could not be broken.) Prologue to the merman!Snape, amnesia AU no one asked for.

NaNoWriMo-ish Day #1
For this month, much as last year, I want to write every day -- doesn't matter how much -- and journal the process. I've also been EDITING all year and it's been hard getting back into drafting! So, we're gonna do it now! 😍
I made a cute calendar to track my days and post. Please feel free to steal the blank version!
And what project will I write? The only one I ever write lol
Maybe I'll write a longer project intro tomorrow for anyone new... 👀

Note
I know last year’s nanowrimo you went all out. Are you doing it again this year? If so how are you prepping for it? :)
lolol hi there anon!
'all out' is certainly one way to put it lol. too far? absurd? beyond ridiculous?
sorry to report i will not be returning to that specific brand of absurdity this year. i've had a lot going on this year and haven't been able to write pretty much anything the whole year, and i don't foresee that changing for nano, unfortunately. my plan is to cheer on my friends who are doing it while slowly pecking away at the few projects i am trying to make progress on.
but i will say, in terms of prepping for nanowrimo, i have a tried and true strategy (that helped my write 3 50k stories simultaneously last year! and also just normal single 50k stories in many years prior lol). if you're more of a plotter than a pantser, but you still like for your stories and characters to surprise you, and you don't feel like doing months of story prep in order to bang out 50k in a month, my strategy is this: make a scene by scene outline of the whole story you want to tell. but each scene can only be described in 1-3 sentences. that's it. that's all the prep you get for each scene.
you'll get a really messy result by the time you hit 50k, but that's kind of what nano is all about! for me, i find that having a project length outline with some scene by scene guidance, minimal as it is, helps me to not feel so lost every time i sit down to write 1,667 words. and there's still plenty of room to discover new story as you write, which is also part of what nano is all about (at least for me).
