Hit 300 followers, so just wanted to share sumn things about why I became active on this blog🥺

Had tumblr for a while, but never really knew what to dedicate it to. Rewatched atla and watched lok over the summer and couldnt believe how much of myself i saw in Korra. (She’s practically a mirror of me im crying)

So i hopped back on here to hoard gifs of korra that liked. Then i stumbled on a wave of Korra hate that i felt like she didnt deserve and it felt personal. So i got comfortable enough to share my opinions and defend Korra, because honestly it felt like i was defending myself

Then i got more comfortable and made gifs of moments i really liked. Then just comfortable enough to just be myself on this blog ig? (And theres such a big lgbtq+ community on here that i really needed because i dont have much of that in my real life so it feels good surrond myself with people just like me and it helps me feel normal and comfortable about myself) (;_;)

Either way what im tryna say, is im probably one of the most unorganized blogs to exist out here, yet you still pressed follow, and accepted me and my korra brainrot, So thank you.❣️

A mini rant

I really wish tumblr fans and YouTube react channels would latch on to Star Trek Prodigy. Every week I’m reminded that so many of the people who “officially” review Star Trek content in general online have absolutely NO understanding of the young adult animation landscape.

Countless reviews gripe that the episodes are “too short,” while simultaneously missing all the key details they normally pay attention to in Star Trek because their mindset is still that of animation = for babies. They are so unwilling to engage with the media as it’s presented.

They’re definitely not familiar with the way most animated shows are written these days, where larger story beats are given out bit by bit and writers allow them to come together organically, rather than spoon fed to you upfront.

How many reviewers criticized Dal for being “unlikable” only to walk that back after the Kobiashi episode? How many reviewers complained it was “too much like Star Wars” after only the first episode and didn’t allow the show to even introduce the Trek content? Unwilling to give the character a chance to grow because they didn’t like his starting place?

I’m still salty about reviewers complaining in Dreamcatcher “why didn’t they use the transporter?” despite the show literally telling them that there was a certain type of radiation which is notorious for interfering with transporters. That’s the techno-babble jargon these types of reviewers should LOVE to sift through, but they ignored it and dismissed it and called it a “plot hole” because they don’t respect the intelligence of the writers and its intended audience.

And that’s a common theme I keep seeing. Just this past week it happened again with the Borg episode, where the reviewers complained about the Borg not using their nano-tubes ala First Contact despite the show intentionally referencing the end of Voyager. Instead of it being in line with established canon it’s written off as a way to make the Borg “less scary for kids.”

I don’t understand this seemingly collective amnesia from Trek fans who gloss over long standing established lore and only remember one or two things and forget everything else. I thought cataloguing all these details was one of the things Trekkies were supposed to be GOOD at!

Meanwhile… you wouldn’t see this dismissive attitude coming from young adult animation YouTube reactors. The people who obsess over The Owl House, Avatar, Korra, Amphibia, and Gravity Falls would pick up on those details IMMEDIATELY. They’d analyze the characters relationships, they ship the characters together, theorize about the time travel stuff, and be excited to get into a show like this! They’d ask a question, then the show would answer it, and they’d be like “oh cool! Now I understand!”

Where are my 2 hour long analysis videos about Dal and Gwyn’s relationship? Where are all the lgbt+ reviewers excited that Zero is non-binary? Where are all the reactors trying to protect Murf and Rok? Where are all the animation nerds geeking out over how amazing this show looks??? Where are my Diviner simps???? LOL

I don’t know how to spread my love of this show to other platforms like YouTube. I can’t make videos and I’m not gonna become a reactor. But if I have ANY sway here on tumblr… please, please, PLEASE, let other people who aren’t 50+ year old die-hard Trekkies find this show and start reacting to it!

Spread the word! This show is literally designed to get new people into Star Trek. I wanna see it! I wanna see these YouTuber react channels responding to this show with the same reverence and appreciation that they do for Gravity Falls and other young adult animated shows!

I wanna see people making crazy theories about time travel!

I wanna see people loving Dal’s growth as a character.

I wanna see people loving Gwyn’s sword.

I wanna see people fawning over Murf’s adorable-ness.

I wanna see people mothering Rok.

And more importantly… I wanna see people who’ve NEVER WATCHED Star Trek get into this show and say “I’m really loving Janeway, now I really wanna watch Star Trek Voyager too and see the real Janeway in action!”

These people exist. They’re out there. I know they do! I just have no idea how to reach them! So please, if you ever see a react channel asking “what should I watch next?” Please, please, PLEASE, recommend Prodigy! I fear that word of mouth is really the only way to do this now! Spread the word! Let people around you know how good this show is! Let more people find it! Let more people react to it! Help the show find the audience that seems to be completely missing it!

I love this show. I just want more people to get into it and create content for it! I do what I can here on tumblr, but I’m just one person. I can’t do it alone!

I have a head canon for all you kyalin simps:

Lin always had feelings for Kya. Even when she was still with Tenzin. She never acted upon those feelings at that time in her life, because she didn't know what they meant, but when she started to realize how much kya meant to her it was already to late, and Kya had left to travel the world.

She broke up with Tenzin and over the years she starts to realize that she is in fact a lesbian. Scared over the idea of having to tell the few people of her family left in republic city she pushes those feelings down and never acts upon them. She closes herself off from any romantic interaction, and builds up her walls.

Around the time Korra comes to the city, Kya returns with her. Lin at first doesn't want anything to do with this. She thinks that de feelings she had for the woman were long gone, and that it was just a stupid little crush.

Until Kya seeks her out. One look into the womans eyes and Lin is falling again... deep. Lin tries to shut her out, but Kya doesn't give up easy and she manages to break down Lins walls.

Kya at that point also realizes what Lin means to her and they fall in love with eachother. Establishing a for now secret relationship.

3 years pass till after the events with Kuvira and their relationship remains a secret. Lin is still afraid to come out, because she doesn't want to lose al the new (and old) people that made their way into her heart like her sister and the krew. But Kya is growing a little tired of it. She loves Lin and she wants the world to know how much.

Every month the whole family gathers for a family dinner, Lin getting paranoid everytime about coming together says the should arrive at different times, but kya's had enough of it. She says they can just say the met at the ferry or something.

Everything at the dinner is going fine, the only thing that is different this time in contrary to the other meals is that Toph also desided she would attend this one. She felt Kya and Lin arrive together and noticed little subtle things in the way of how the interacted with eachother. Things that the others without seismic sense aren't able to see.

At one point in the middle of the meal, during one of the glances Lin and kya shared with eachother. Toph just blandly pronounces "Hey Lin... Why don't you just take Kya to her room and undress her there. That would be way easier than to undress her here at the table with your eyes."

Lin is baffled and her head turnes into something that looks like a raspberry, before she stormes out of the room. Kya giving an annoyed glare at Toph (not like she can see it) storms after her.

Lin in the kitchen is starting to hyperventilate and kya needs to calm her down before she gets a panic attack. They talk for a while, and kya reassures Lin that no one at that table will judge her for being herself.

Lin grounds herself, not fully believing what kya just said to her yet, but doing this for her and they step back into the room.

Lin is a nervous wreck and no one at the table knows her like that, but she steadies herself. They tell everyone everything. Lin about her feelings for women, and them both about their relationship.

Everyone is so supportive of them (even Tenzin after he had a little while to let the information sink in), and they all reassure lin that s h.c e had nothing to fear from the beginning.

Lin is so happy and so releaved that she cries. Like not just sheds a few tears, but actually cries. This is the first time since her childhood that she has cried in frond of anyone except for Kya and it embarrasses her a little bit, but she doesn't care anymore. She has a loving family. and anyone that even dares to lay a hand on that family better watch out, because she will end that person's live with her own hands.

This turned out longer than I expected, but I hope it was at least a bit readable. English isn't my first language so please don't judge, but I hope you liked it.

You and Asami always held a sort of.... animosity for each other. There was no reason for the clear cut tension that hung between the two of you, but anyone would be able to notice it.

It’s not like you hated her. It was just, you, Mako, and Bolin had grown up together, you were basically an honorary sibling. When Korra had joined your trio in freshman year it had been enough of an adjustment, but Asami had felt like a tipping point that you just could not handle, ESPECIALLY after the whole love triangle situation that had almost torn the 5 of you apart in sophomore year. High school was shitty enough without shitty romances to go with it.

You guys generally could get along, too. You had a number of classes together, so you walked and chatted back and forth all the time, but thick tension always hung in the air when you did.

It didn’t help that she was disgustingly rich and attractive either. She practically had guys falling at her feet, and it pissed you off to no end. How could you be the only one?

“(Y/N), you’re missing the educational mover!” Your economics teacher, Mr. Varrick, had paused the movie specifically to call you out. You groaned, sliding down in your seat and throwing a hand over your eyes. “Third time this week! Get your act together...” He continued to mumble under his breath. Hell, was that man eccentric. He resumed the action on the screen, and you actually attempted to pay attention this time; this was your only time to learn in this class, after all. Mr. Varrick was an excellent man, but a horrible teacher.

From the seat next to you, the one and only Asami Sato laughed quietly, fiddling with her pen and side eyeing your slumped form. God, even her damn laugh was attractive, that woman was aggravating. Minutes passed and you couldn’t help but stare at the clock.

Mr. Varrick paused the mover and you couldn’t help but panic; he had a thing for calling principal Moon a little bit too often for minor student misdemeanors just so he could talk to her.

“Ms. Sato, can I see you outside?” He then promptly unpaused as Asami stood up. She glanced back at you, making her way up the aisle, and you attempted to give her a reassuring look, despite you low grade hatred for her.

Your teacher slowly and softly shut the door behind him... odd. He was a slam-the-door kind of guy. You rocked your knees back and forth, starting to get nervous for her. Stop. You don’t even care that much...right?

The door opened again, and he held a solemn look at his face. He raised a hand, ushering you over. You swiftly stood up, an odd feeling in your stomach, almost like you felt bad for her (which, you didn’t, obviously). 

It was a blur. Ms. Sato. Office. Father. Died. You froze. This couldn’t be happening, not to her. 

You found yourself wrapping you arms around her, despite her lack of tears. Maybe she was in shock. I mean, what could she do? What could you do? The walk was silent. You felt impossibly heavy as you walked with your arms wrapped around Asami. The fluorescent high school lighting gave you a headache. You couldn’t imagine how she must be feeling. 

She dropped to the floor, taking you with her, right outside the office doors. She let out a silent, breathless sob, choking on her own intense emotion. 

“Asami,” You felt for her, you felt your chest tighten as you watched your ‘frenemy’ lose all her composure, tears ruining her perfect makeup and her hands grasping your arms tightly. It wasn’t supposed to be like this, not for a girl like her, “I’m so sorry, Asami.” You choked out all you could manage.

All she could do was shake her head. All the principal would do was give her stupid, distanced condolences, and then she’d have to go home and face a world of hurt. “Let me take you to my house.” You blurted out. It was all you had to offer her. She nodded without even thinking, wiping her nose on her sleeve and letting you lead her out to your car instead.

You both took a solemn seat. Her silence was lost, forgotten as the car door slammed behind her. She reached her hand over, laying it in your lap, asking for anything. You took it gently, watching her closely, and leaned over cautiously to wrap her up in an awkward hug over the center console.

“Thank you, Y/N. I’m sorry you-” She gasped lightly, burying her head deeper into the crook of your neck. “-you had to see this.” She pulled away slowly, looking at you with a certain tenderness behind her red eyes and broken heart. You weren’t expecting it in the slightest, but she leaned in you, kissing the side of your mouth.

“Asami, are you-”

“No, I- I, you don’t realize how fleeting everything is or how quickly things change, and I... I’m sorry, I had to do that.” You nodded curtly, starting the car. Your chest was still heavy, and your heart still ached for Asami, but you would be lying if you said your heart wasn’t racing for another reason.

Bolin remembers a lot of stuff, like the things you've said once in the beginning of the relationship and it surprises you everytime. He may not remember every single detail but boy does this he have a memory. He knows all your favorite foods and all your favorite places to go, he remembers your friends and families names and he knows who's on your bad side.

Bolin remembers exactly how the night went when he finally asked you out. He had invited you to spend some fun with Korra, Mako, Asami and himself. In which everyone already knew Bolin had the biggest crush on you and they were determined to get you two together. Of course with them involved it ended up being disastrous with wild goose chases, forced alone time, and being well aware you two were being spied on. It wasn't until Bolin was able to sneak you two away, was the night finally relaxing and fun. Sneaking around town you two ate street food and just talked. Conversation came natural. In the end you two walked along the edge of Republic City watching the waves crash into the rocks and how beautiful the moon’s reflection was. He remembers how lovely you looked under the moonlight. Walking into the small cafe you noticed the pink girl sitting with 2 other people. One was blonde while the other a spiky red head. Mina waved to you as you walked towards them. “Guys this is Y/n! My new bestie! Isn't she the cutest?!” The red head smiled “Hi, I’m Kirishima Eijirou.” The blonde stayed unbothered when all he said was Bakugo. “It’s nice to meet you guys!” You noticed 5 drinks on the table. Only one of them was left untouched and you began to think it might have been ordered for you but who did the other drink belong to? “Is there anyone else here? There's 5 drinks and just 3 of you so…” Mina noticed the door open and a smile made its way to her face. 

“Actually yes here they are! Camie, Sero over here!” You shifted slightly in your chair to see a blonde girl and Sero walk in. “Y/n this is Camie! You already know Sero.” You waved to the both of them. Camie was insanely pretty. Seeing her walk in with Sero made your mind race a mile a minute. You couldn’t help jump to the conclusion that maybe he could be seeing her. Trying to push that thought out of your mind you decided to go order yourself something. “Sero go with her and get me a slice of cake will you?” Bakugo said. His tone sounded more demanding than you were used to hearing when someone asked for a favor. Despite this Sero still got up and followed you towards the counter. 

“I didn’t know you were close with Mina” He stated. You just shrugged “We recently became friends actually but I really like her. She feels like a sister if that makes sense. It’s refreshing to have her to talk to instead of Ojiro and Sato. Don’t tell them I said that” he chuckled and then asked the cashier for two slices of cake. You just ordered an iced coffee. “No sweets today?” he questioned. “Oh no living with Sato is pretty much the same as being on a constant sugar high. I eat a little too much cake if I’m being honest” he laughed again. Would it be cheesy to say that it puts a smile on your face? Because it really did. 

Once you sat back down Camie faced you as you sat across from Mina. “So you’re Y/n! The one who has been slowly stealing my bae from me” You slightly choked on your coffee. Did she mean Sero? “I’m sorry?” Bakugo noticed your new rigid behavior. “Don’t scare her you dumbass.” She stuck her tongue out at the other blonde “I’m just trying to break the ice.” Mina rolled her eyes “Don’t worry Y/n she's joking. Camie isn’t the jealous type anyways.” You were seriously very confused at this point. 

“Wait so are you guys dating then?” You asked Camie. She smiled at you “Mina you didn’t tell her about me? I’ve been with Mina for about a year now.” Your two brain cells had finally connected “OHHH. You’re dating Mina! For a second I thought you were with Sero.” Kirishima looked confused “Wait, you thought Sero and Camie were together?” You played with the straw of your cup nervously. “Well she said I was slowly stealing her bae and out of Mina and Sero I’ve spent more time with Sero. Plus they did walk in together” Camie giggled “I just have a bad sense of direction and got lost so Sero came to get me.” Bakugo rolled his eyes. “You just added another dumbass to our friend group like we don’t already have 3.” 

“Hey! I am not a dumbass. I’ll have you know that I was in the top at my school!” He smirked “Oh yeah well so was I! Don’t start thinking you're better than me now Timekeeper” “That just proves I’m better because you know who I am and I have no clue who you are.” His eyes widened “What the hell do you mean you don’t know who I am?” You shook your head “Sorry I have no clue. I know like 6 pro-heroes and two of them are Mina and Sero.” Sero put his had on your shoulder “Uhh Y/n I don’t think you want to argue with Katsuki. He has a bit of a temper” You shook your head. “I know I can take him” The big smile you flashed him made his heart race. The crush he had on you only felt like it had gotten stronger once the two of you became friends. He watched as you and Bakugo began bickering over the fact you didn’t know any pro-heroes. “How do you fucking know Deku but now me?!” he huffed “He messaged me on how my quirk worked on twitter last year and we talk from time to time.” Kirishima rubbed Bakugo’s back “it’s okay babe. Don’t get too worked up about it.” Once again your two brain cells held hands. “Wait, you two are also together?” Kirishima nodded. “Oh yeah that’s right. L-M-A-O this is pretty much a triple date! Now that I think about it, Sero and Y/n do look totes adorbs together” Sero’s face slowly turned red as Bakugo started to yell. “Shut up glamour girl. You really think Sero would consider this a date? We all know soy sauce face is more romantic than that.” you chuckled nervously “I would have worn something a little nicer than just leggings and a sweater if I knew this was a date.” “You look beautiful anyways” Sero said casually. The tips of your ears started to burn. To others this may have been just a simple compliment but to you it felt much more than that. “He’s right your sweater is totally cute!” Camie responded. 

A phone on the table vibrated. “Hello. She’s ready? Okay thank you” Bakugo looked towards the group “Sorry guys we have to leave. We left Azula with the groomer.” You watched as the couple left the small cafe. “What kinda dog do they have?” you asked. “Pitbull mix. She’s such a sweet dog. Ei named her Azula because he binged watched The Last Airbender the same week they got her” Sero told you. “You have a dog too right Y/n?” Mina asked. You nodded “Oh yes! His name is Ein. He's a corgi.” 

The rest of the time at the cafe went well. Sero even offered to take you home but you sadly had to decline due to Sato asking you to buy groceries on your way home. You were grinning practically from ear to ear when you walked into your shared apartment. “Why are you so… not moody?” Ojiro asked. You put your purse down and sat next to him. “I went on a date today. Well not a real date it was kinda a fake date, a pre date if you will. Anyways I hung out with Mina and her girlfriend was there plus this angry blonde guy named Bakugo and his boyfriend Kirishima. Sero was also there so it was kinda like a triple date but not really.” You began to pet his tail “So basically you like Sero and are excited that you hung out with him?” You nodded “Is this where I call you a simp?” you laughed “maybe I am but I’d gladly be a simp for him”

he   passes   away   on   a   vacation   he   and   tallulah   take   to   the   ripley   summer   beach   house   ,   something   they   had   done   to   have   some   quiet   time   together   away   from   the   judgement   of   her   siblings   .   having   to   be   the   one   to   break   the   news   to   the   family   ,   she   feels   herself   shut   down   and   lose   whatever   desire   she   had   left   to   live   the   perfect   life   her   mother   and   siblings   tried   to   force   on   her   .

she   starts   going   almost   exclusively   by   her   surname   ,   making   it   into   holloway   more   as   a   favor   to   her   family’s   generous   donations   to   the   music   program   than   on   grades   .   she’s   barely   hanging   on   by   her   involvement   in   the   university’s   symphonic   orchestra   ,   where   she’s   a   first   chair   cellist   that   shows   up   late   to   every   damn   rehearsal   and   somehow   can   cold   sightread   well   enough   to   piss   everyone   off   ksksksk   .

given   this   ,   she’s   only   minoring   in   music   theory   to   stay   in   the   orchestra   ,   and   partially   to   feel   close   to   her   dad   .   though   her   dream   is   to   write   music   scores   for   films   ,   she’s   majoring   in   biology   to   have   a   respectable   backup   plan   .   if   she   can’t   do   music   forever   ,   she’ll   disappear   onto   a   beach   somewhere   in   costa   rica   and   be   a   marine   biologist   and   never   be   heard   from   again   lmao

PERSONALITY   :   ripley   is   happiest   shotgunning   a   white   claw   before   piling   into   the   squad   car   and   calling   aux   immediately   !   loves   her   friends   and   sees   her   circle   as   found   family   that   she   would   do   anything   for   .   

she’s   laid   back   and   observant   ,   one   of   the   quieter   in   the   group   as   she   tries   to   suss   you   out   but   is   the   first   to   approach   a   newbie   and   act   as   if   you’ve   been   friends   for   ages   .   she   makes   an   active   effort   to   not   judge   others   on   the   basis   of   first   impressions   and   tends   to   be   rather   open   minded   when   meeting   others   ,   which   makes   her   a   sort   of   universal   friend   -   to   -   all   ;   given   this   ,  when  wronged  ,  she’s   a   stubborn   little   shit   and   though   she   wont   let   them   live   rent   free   in   that   headspace   ,   she’ll   go   full   send   to   making   sure   they’re   aware   they   don’t   exist   to   her   !
