every character that is played by a player is a marcado, right? so here's my crack theory: verissimo can be saved.

(spoilers for the enigma do medo demo below)

now, my guess is that the god of fear is some secret 5th relic (or some similarly powerful entity) that tugs on the chains of reality in the same way the other entities can. this is why it can grant people visions of their death, which seem to be pretty accurate based on the fact that 1) calisto was correct in knowing that he would die in that room and 2) kian could not kill verissimo because verissimo knew he would not die there. so, as it currently stands, verissimo is going to die in the perimeter and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

except for maybe mia. because she is technically a player character there is a chance she could be considered a marcado. how does this change things? im glad you asked! in episode 19 of desconjuracao it is said (by anthony) that marcados are free from the rules of reality (which it is also important to note that such rules are often associated with the idea of destiny). being free from these rules allows them to change the other side.

so ultimately if mia is a marcado, it is theoretically within her power to change whatever fate verissimo has waiting for him (but it can only be her that does it) because his destiny has been set in stone by a force from the other side.

i also want to point out that agatha made the connection between fear and destiny when she was trying to explain what Fear is to mia. while it was just her interpretation, i trust in her judgement based on what she's done in the past
