big fan of how the two main love interest/mother characters in how to train your dragon canonically CANNOT cook for SHIT. httyd said fuck ur gender roles the MEN will be doing the cooking bc if the WOMEN did it ppl would DIE

#they definitely got some things wrong in the feminism department but they got this right i love it #astrid and valka are both canonically hazardous if they enter a kitchen😭#and everyone’s like yeah…. maybe u…should not be the one cooking……….#love it #esp bc astrid in particular kinda fulfills her societal gender role in every other way #so its nice that they had her Fail in the kitchen category. and nobody bats an eye either #back when i used to read httyd fanfiction there were SO MANY that were like ‘and astrid learned to cook for the family!😊’ like come on now #some of u ppl are so sexist u force her into that domestic role despite her CANONICALLY NOT DOING THAT
