what mischief do the older trio of Gucklings normally get into?
Well, the older set are much more prone to bickering and fighting among each other than the younger ones.  There was a significant time gap between Basstian and Fiddleford, and that allowed the younger ones to develop a different relationship with each other than the older ones had.  A survival thing; gotta band together to resist the older kids.  So, growing up, the mischief they tended to cause was disruptive in-fighting that upset their younger siblings or kept chores from getting done.
As a teenager, Violynn had a tendency to abuse her older sibling privileges, and get her younger siblings to do things for her.  She also tended to lord her oldest child status over the others, which rubbed Harper especially the wrong way.  Eventually, she mellows out and matures and becomes the responsible, sweet person we know and love.
Harper was basically a tutorial for Lute and Angie.  Low-key chaos child: didn’t listen to instructions well, chafed at authority, when unsupervised would break things that shouldn’t be able to be broken, tried to let the cows loose on multiple occasions, yadda yadda yadda.
Basstian was the easiest, since he was quiet even as a child, and, like most middle children, ended up being the peacemaker between his sibs.  But his quiet nature came at the cost of keeping a lot of bad feelings to himself, until they eventually built up and would explode (something Angie does, too).  So, when he was an awkward teenager, every couple weeks or so, there would just be shouting from Basstian, who couldn’t keep quiet about his frustrations anymore.
Of the three oldest, Harper was the most mischief-causing.  But Lute and Angie end up being way more hellacious than their older brother.  The older set of Gucklings are a picnic compared to the younger set.
