hi hello, so this isn't my official "comeback" yet as I'm currently sick in bed 😭 so this is just a little teaser and explanation of what I'm planning hehe

So I've had this idea for a long time, so long that it was the first fic I ever wanted to write down on this blog and the idea that motivated me to start writing in general, but things happened so yeah I'm only now finding the time to finally write for it

so basically, it's friends with benefits geto x f!reader, simple enough, right? Well, not quite (if you're not interested in too much detail, feel free to skip my rambling and scroll down for some excerpts and quotes 😘 they'll be below the cut)

It all happened one evening when your best friend came to pick you up from a party for the first time, being tipsy and sexually frustrated one thing led to another and you slept together and from then on it kind of became your guys' thing

Whenever you were out and didn't end up with someone, you called him and he actually came to pick you up

You've known each other for a few years but you just couldn't get yourself to call him Suguru, it's always Geto this Geto that, even tho he would really like you to just call him by his first name, but you're like no no no nonono I can't

And if that wasn't bad enough, your tipsy self always added -san, so it's Geto-san whenever he picks you up haha

You've done a lot already, anything dirty you could think of, been there done that, but no kissing bcs that's too intimate duh, like having a dick shoved so far up it's rearragning your guts isn't yeah yeah sweet denial

So this time there wasn't anything unusual about it, he picked you up like always and you were down to fuck so what's the worst that could happen?

he miiiighhtt make you call him by his first name and maybe just maybe you do finally kiss???!

I'm also down for maybe a prequel to the first time it happened?? 👀👀

But in any case, enjoy an excerpt from the beginning as well as some of my ideas and quotes I plan to include :D

He never understood why you liked going out to the most shabby and stuffed clubs. It reeked of alcohol and smoke mixed with all kinds of bodily fluids. As he was making his way through the dancing crowd of sweaty people grinding against each other, he finally found you sitting at the bar while some guy was leaning in your direction way too close for comfort.

He had his usual fit, hair half up with a black over sized sweater and loose black joggers. Making him look so huge that if there were any guys bothering you, they would leave you alone as soon as they saw him.

"Yo~ y/n", he touched your exposed shoulder and gave you his signature eye smile, before staring down the guy next to you that was trying to get in your pants or in this context in ypur skimpy little dress. The guys' annoyed look turned into a worried one after seeing who he was up against.

"Aahhh Geto-saannn you're here early" you mused, leaning against his hard chest. That damn honorific, he cursed but still managed to squeeze out a smile.

"Haha "-san", so you aren't her boyfriend then." the stranger snarled but soon gave up as Suguru raised an eyebrow at him and snapped a "watch it". "Alright, alright, I give up", he put his hands up in defeat. "Maybe next time, sweetcheeks."

As soon as the guy left Suguru took both of your hands in his and knelt down in front of you. "Y/n we've talked about this, if you don't want to call me Suguru at least drop the honorific. We've known each other for years now don't you think it's about time. Also, don't you think it's weird when you call the guy you fuck by his last name, hm?" He turned his head looking at you expectedly.

"But Geto-saaaan-"

"Ah ah, what did I just tell you"

"Okay okay, Geto" you huffed, "You know I'm not comfortable with that", you whined, squeezing his hands.

"I just want to hear you say it at least once. Say it and I'll fuck you real good tonight.", he smirked.

You considered it, after a hard week you really needed a good fuck. "Sugu-", is all you could manage before snapping your head away, "Nope can't do it."

He let his head drop with a loud sigh. "It's alright. It looks like I was just pushing my luck. C'mon, let's get you out of here." And with that, he rose back to his full height, grabbed your hand and pulled you from the bar stool. While making your way through the crowd and to his car, your thoughts kept wandering.

Suguru... that's such a pretty name.

"What's up with you today? If you keep squeezing me that hard you might actually snap my dick off.", he chuckled. He's way to cocky. You have to do something about that.

"Have I ever told you how annoying you can be. If you don't stop talking, I think I might have to shut that mouth of yours up myself.", you whispered putting your hands on his cheeks and pulling his face close so that it was right in front of yours.

"Wow that did it, huh?" you chuckled arching your back and clawing at his shoulders. "How naive, men are so simple." you kept that thought to yourself tho.

"Wait", you mumbled against his lips. "Don't pull out. Keep fucking me. Hurry up." How could he say no to you, even if he felt like he was about to die from overstimulation, he couldn't possibly deny you.

opening your eyes to a new body, a body you're not used to, is weird but also relieving; that's what quaritch felt: relief, weirdness, disgust.

he was disgusted with the way he looked—his skin, his eyes, his ears—and he found it funny, funny that he's one of the 'savages' he's always hated.

he didn't expect to see all his friends, and especially you, an old friend and lover. an old person quaritch fell in love with. seeing you for the first time filled his brain with memories—memories of you and human quaritch.

now, this quaritch, the one standing in front of you, was not the one you fell in love with, and you are aware of that, but seeing him after years of missing him made your heart ache. quaritch had a hard time being around you; every time he sees you, he's hit with a train of emotions and memories. he almost felt bad for you.

"i thought you went back to earth."

you looked up at the source of the voice as if you had no idea whose voice this is. "i did go back," you hummed.

"why'd you come back?"

you got up and placed your hands on the table. "you can't ask this; you can't expect me to forgive you or come running back to you like a little girl trying to find her way through the night. i have changed and moved on, and so should you." you got up from your chair and walked towards the door. a tight grip on your arm stopped you and made you wince in pain. "let go," you said in a harsh tone.

"you are going to sit your ass down there on that chair and talk to me." when you glared up at him, his grip tightened, and you whined. "did i make myself clear?" it came out more like a statement than a question.

you looked up at him with wide eyes. "you're hurting me; stop." he clenched his jaw at your words and let go. "you're not a good person, miles," you said, shaking your head. "please let me go; i can't do this anymore. doesn't it bring you enough satisfaction knowing that i'm with you hurting in the same base?" he had a stern look on his face now, looking down at you. "i didn't ask you to come here. if you didn't want to see me this bad, then why'd you come here knowing that i'd be here, hm?" he raised his eyebrows, his lips forming a tight line. "answer me, goddammit!" he yelled at you, making you jerk in fear.

"still like old times, huh? still getting scared easily. "y'know, sweetheart, i've always liked that side of you, the scared side of you," he chuckled. and a dark and quiet chuckle. a chuckle that made you shiver in fear. "you can't even look me in the eyes; you never looked me in the eyes when we argued." his hand was on your face, caressing your cheek as you stood there, totally frozen and unable to move. was it fear, or was it need? the question swam around in your head. you wrapped your hand around his wrist, your fingers not even close to touching. you jerked his hand away, forcing his hand off of your face.

"stay away from me," you said, your voice small and close to breaking. that amused him, knowing he still had that kind of effect on you. "say that you don't love me anymore, and i'll leave you alone. "say it right to my face right now, right here." he commanded you as if you were one of his soldiers. "say it!" he yelled at you once again, making you flinch and widen your eyes more.

he knew you weren't good with yelling, yet he still yelled at you.

you'd had enough. you had no idea what had happened to you. you were like a volcano waiting to explode. and that's what you did. you exploded. "i hate you," you said quietly, and he didn't even hear you.

"what was that?" "i hate you!" you screamed this time.

his eyebrows furrowed as he looked at you. "watch what you're saying, girl; watch your words. you don't want me to get you crying like the crybaby you are, right?" when you didn't say anything, he smirked. "thought so."

you looked up at him and tsked, a smirk forming on your lips. you pointed your finger at him, rapidly but harshly poking at his chest. "i. hate. you. i hate you. i fucking hate you. i hate paz. i'm so happy she's dead. i'm so happy that you're dead. although you're standing right here, in front of me, you are dead. "you are dead to me; you're dead to me. do you hear me, you sick motherfucker?" you've started hitting his chest with both hands now.

"i said watch what yo-"

"you watch what you say to me; i am not hesitant to stick a knife down your throat and watch you choke on your own blood. i hate you. i always have. from the moment you started screwing stupid paz, i started hating you. i hate you, i hate paz, and i hate your stupid team, especially fucking lyle, that sick, retarded fuck. i hate that nasty kid you and paz had. god, how satisfied i'd be to watch you die." he was too stunned to talk; his mouth was open, his eyes narrow, and you just chuckled at how stupid he looks.

"we had everything we needed back on earth. but you wanted more; you never wanted my love, you never wanted me; you just wanted a chick to screw, to bend over whatever you found and fuck them to feel good about yourself, to feel how great and strong of a colonel you are. fuck you!" your words were venomous. he couldn't bear your voice anymore; his hand wrapped around your small neck, squeezing the air out of your lungs.

"well, guess what? i ain't that crazy about you either." he slightly lifted you off the ground, making your face turn red before letting you down harshly. you landed on your buttocks with a thud.

"i hate you! i hate you all so much! i hate you so much!" you said crawling to him before you pressed your teeth down on the flesh of his leg, and he let out a loud grunt and kicked you. you sat down on the floor with your hands on your face, wiping the tears, sniffling the snot, and the tears making your face wet and gross. he felt bad for what he did; the only thing he was able to do was stare down at you.

"you promised... you said—you—you promised that you'd never hurt me—you promise—" your words were cut off with yet another sob. you sniffled some more before getting up. "i always used to sit down on that stupid couch where we used to cuddle and wonder what went wrong, but then i realized that it was me. if i showed you more love, if i loved you more, maybe we would be together now, on earth, with a couple of kids." you wiped your tears. "i should've learned to let you stay. we should've gone back to florida—i remember seeing you sun bathing every morning—and" you sniffled and cried some more, more tears rolling down your cheeks that you didn't bother wiping anymore.

"your body is becoming darker and darker, making you look terrific. i remember when we first met. it was so clear to me that you were the one for me, but then again, you didn't want me all the time. i am mature now—more mature than i ever was—and i am letting you go today, letting you go fully."

you stood up, and he was quick to pull you into a hug. your small body fits just right. you didn't hug back; you knew better. you knew that if you did, you wouldn't be able to turn around and walk away, so you did the right thing. "i'm sorry, cupcake," he said before you tried to push him away from you.

"i'm sorry, i never meant to make you feel that way. i never meant to hurt you." you were hearing the words that you so desperately needed to hear—the words you were dying from the inside to hear—yet it only made you sob more. you finally had enough courage to walk away.

"i wish you all the best, really. "i'm so happy you're here." you said this and walked to the door, tears running from your eyes like water from faucets; it was as if your eyes were the faucets.

"don't..." he whispered as you shut the door behind you.

now here's the thing: you loved him, you loved him, and you loved him; how could you not? he was a great person in your life—a person that you don't regret meeting. you don't even blame him for cheating on you with paz; how could you when you love him so much? you were always making excuses for his actions. and you still are.

and here's the thing that is shocking: he loved you; he did, but he was too cool for a heart like yours, and his eyes were too electric and full of life for boring, tired eyes like yours. his lips are too good for chapped ones like yours. his love is too warm for cold hearts like yours.

his neglection to you on pandora is too cool for you.

the taste of his sweaty thumb inside your mouth is too good for you.

the electric shocks of his touches are too good for skin like yours.

you were boring; you were aware of that, and now you were stuck here on pandora, where nobody wanted you. you were going to live alone for the rest of your life—no chest like his to lay your head on, no lips like his to kiss your salty tears. just you and your body that's been painted blue.

what isn't a favourite of mine? 😂 hm if I had to narrow it down to three probably

and I usually prefer Bucky to gain (more) weight, I don't really have an explanation for this, it's just what I prefer (feel free to psychoanalyse that 😂)

And what's the biggest you like to see them?

any size at all really, fat, overweight, underweight, morbidly obese, the brain rot is in the stucky 😌😂

no I mean I don't mind as long as it's somewhat "realistic", i.e. a person of that weight has lived on earth before, idk I'm just not really into the thousands of pounds weights? I feel like at some point you can't really escalate anymore in terms of writing the experience, how does 3000lbs feel different from 1000lbs? it can be done, I've read some excellent stories before

but generally I'd say anything below 1000lbs is like a soft limit for me while reading and especially when I'm writing the story

that being said hnnng mobility struggles 🥵🥵🥵

Bc I LOVE when they get to the point of mobility struggles and talking seriously about accommodating for immobility 🥵 so any thoughts on that, feel free to share 👀👀👀

is there anything better than constantly being out of breath, being painfully aware of how fat and out of shape they are when they're just walking to the kitchen or when they're just too big to fit somewhere

I love it when immobility is constantly on the horizon, threatening to take over but for right now they can still get around, right now it's exhausting and annoying and so so so hot just to do the simplest things because of their weight and their size.

and then with Bucky and Steve I think mobility aids and accomodations would come relatively late into the process, not because Bucky doesn't want them, but because he 1) has the/a supersoldier serum so that eases some of the intense discomfort and pain and mostly reduces it to an annoyance or some things just take him longer and 2) he has a super soldier around to help out

I think some accomodations would creep in without them even noticing, like

when Bucky first moves into Steve's apartment it's still a bachelor pad, mostly Steve's decor and some furnishings SHIELD put in for Steve, one of the things they replace is the low futon style bed

they aren't even really thinking about accomodating Bucky's weight yet, but they both gravitate towards a higher bed, maybe a really nice box-spring bed?

(I honestly don't know much about beds 😅 but I like the ones that go all the way to the bottom and don't have feet or short ones because I feel like those would be less likely to break due to weight or.. shenanigans)

something that's around hip-height, that makes it easier for Bucky to get up since he doesn't have to heave himself up from such a low position

also something with a high weight limit just because hey, they're big guys even when they aren't actively gaining and getting heavier and when they're having fun in bed (feeding, stuffing, sex (in that or any order haha)) they don't want to have to worry about accidentally breaking anything

heavy-duty chairs obviously no arm rests, as hot as it is to try and squeeze his fat ass in, Bucky doesn't need that at every meal, I feel like they'd have a huge sofa, not just a three seater or something but the full thing with like ottomans and pull-out sections

heavy duty everything really though I feel like SHIELD would've added that just because they know Captain America has super strength and would probably appreciate some sturdy furniture in his apartment, someone had to furnish that apartment for Steve, I can't imagine him thawing out of the ice and heading straight to bed, bath and beyond 😂

that's furniture, what about behavioural accomodations?

Steve definitely gets Bucky whatever he asks for, no need to get up when Steve is already on his way, I love the headcanon that the serum gave Steve a serious energy boost, like he can barely sit still and even if he does his thoughts are racing instead, so yeah most of the time he's puttering around the apartment anyway and he's more than happy to get Bucky whatever he wants

whenever they go out they're quick to order an uber or use public transport, they don't walk much when they're together, Steve enjoys running, even when he gains weight I think it's a good outlet for his pent up energy, and if they want to enjoy the city, they'd rather sit in a café or on a shaded bench in a park, than walking around aimlessly just for the sake of it

(this is like 80 million head canons stacked on top of each other 😂)

Bucky with a cane enough said, actually not enough said

his joints, bones, muscles, tendons are probably a mess of scar tissue after 70 years of being the winter soldier, so I 100% support the headcanon that he struggles with chronic pain from that

his prosthesis looks heavy af which could lead to some one-sided overuse and when he takes it off, he's leaning to the other side, a cane could help with balance and

imagine he's so heavy and his thighs are so thick that he has a heavy waddle that makes him sway side to side and the cane helps him stabilize his body during every step he takes 😩😩😩

it's a clichée at this point but riding a mobility scooter while buying a shitton of food, Bucky is already pretty big at this point, like "worrying about the weight limit on those scooters"-big, even with the arm rests pushed up Bucky is squeezed in, he's definitely wider than the seat and you can see his hips and thighs hanging over the seat of the scooter from the back (Steve loves letting Bucky lead the way just to get a view of that backside 😏😂)

this is also the point where they're like "ok, we gotta seriously talk about mobility aids now" I imagine Bucky's been using the cane at least since he was below 300lbs (ooh braces too maybe to support his knee?) and the first time he used the mobility scooter was a novelty and a "I wanna feel fat"-moment, you know what I mean?

but then Bucky notices how much less exhausted he is after grocery shopping, usually he takes a short nap after and he used to think it was just mostly because of all the lights and sounds and people, just a sensory thing, but now it's like "no, carrying around all this weight is definitly a big part of it"

idk if they'd go straight for a personal mobility scooter, I feel like Bucky would maybe add a walking frame first? not a lot of moving parts and it's similar to his cane, so there's some familiarity there, it's helpful around the house but outside it's usually more of an annoyance because people won't move out of his way and the uneven pavements make it feel less stable than inside

next he might start thinking about a wheelchair, the jump to a mobility scooter feels huge, something manual feels easier to think about, he'd still have to push himself

but after trying it out Bucky has to admit that it takes a lot of strength and endurance to push himself around and he doesn't want Steve to constantly be pushing him, not because he thinks Steve wouldn't want to do it but because he also wants to look at Steve's face while they're out and about and just chatting about everything and nothing, and he'd give up a lot of freedom if he went with a manual wheelchair right now

so a mobility scooter it is

it takes Bucky another few months to actually decide, the reason it feels like such a huge step is partially because of what other people will think, Bucky has a slight exibitionist streak, but getting around in a mobility scooter will draw even more attention than he already gets

it's almost a self-proclaimed, "I'm too fat to walk", which isn't true, he can and does still walk around fine, maybe not that far or that often, but he can still do it and hell, he gets off to the thought, Steve gets off on it too, it's not like what people assume is going to be wrong

but this big investment is almost like a final nail in the coffin of his mobility, is it giving up or giving in? finally permission to stop worrying, to stop scoping restaurants and cafés for chairs that'll hold him, to start demanding people make space for him instead of jostling his walking frame or bumping into his cane

in the end Bucky doesn't regret his decision, even for a second, he gets to visit his favourite places in the city without pain, without wheezing from exhaustion, without feeling embarassed by how much space he takes up (as delicious as that shame could sometimes be when Steve talks about those moments afterwards in the bedroom)

and maybe they finally cycle back around to replacing their current bed, not because it's broken but because they're dangerously quickly approaching that heavy weight limit and maybe a bariatric bed is the next step in Bucky's journey

Actually thinking of that tma post (the one I just reblogged, I'll link it later I'm on mobile rn) in terms of neurodivergency made me think of the old "are asexuals immune to sirens" debate on here. Bc. Neither the tma entities nor sirens are real so the creator gets to decide how they work and I think it can be really interesting both ways depending on What Your Story Is About.

bc what it comes down to is: are the entities and/or sirens trying to catch YOU, or are they trying to cast the widest possible net?

iirc the original siren post was arguing that, because sirens are preying on the Horniness Of Sailors, asexuals should be able to hear them without being affected; and the response was that in the Odyssey, the sirens aren't (just) offering sex, they're offering knowledge or whatever, because that's what Odysseus, the one hearing them, is least able to resist.

And, listen, I don't need to tell YOU the appeal of sirens as a device by which characters can be bullied into revealing their deepest most secret desires, we've all ready pjo. But I do think there is ALSO interesting worldbuilding and story potential in horniness-based sirens!!

Like. From a worldbuilding perspective. If I'm making the rules, maybe my sirens can't read minds—or maybe they can, but sensing desires and/or altering their illusory forms takes enough energy that it just isn't efficient to make a brand new lure for every individual prey item. And they ARE preying on sailors, mostly men, mostly men who have been at sea with other men getting dirtier and dirtier for months—a clean, inviting, sexy lady is a pretty smart lure to go for, if you're trying to appeal to the Highest Number of Individuals.

Which, like, listen: I'm a simple (queer aspec) man, I LIKE a scene where the one or two people on the ship who aren't attracted to women have to scramble to save everybody else's straight/allo ass. And then what? If your ship makes it back to port, do they tell people what happened? Does it become common practice to bring somebody who doesn't want to fuck women on every long voyage? That's fun! How sapient are your sirens? Enough to notice that this is a problem, and get curious about why their hunting strategy isn't working on this One Guy? If sirens have a different concept of gender and sexuality than their prey, how long does it take them to figure out what the fuck is going on? That's fun too!!

....hm. okay I have to end this post now bc I so badly want to write both a sex comedy about the one gay guy on a ship full of ostensibly-straight soldiers on the first voyage implementing the Token Queer To Guard Against Sirens scheme AND a buddy comedy about a pod of sirens kidnapping the aroace survivor of a ship they just sank so they can do Mermaid Science.

"The Day of the Moon" thoughts

i would argue we stuck the landing here, but it's a bit shaky. my bf said he was frustrated bc we never got back around to the astronaut in the lake and i think that's a fairly good point. i know where the season is going but so far the show has been fairly self-contained, we haven't really had such a major story beat be kind of dropped. obviously i know it'll come back but it does feel like the story itself kind of forgot about its own inciting incident. that said i still loved it

so we open 3 months later, amy is on the run and covered in tally marks. canton shoots her, then chases down river until she jumps off a skyscraper, then tracks down and shoots rory, both of whom also have tally marks. canton has the doctor at roswell and puts him in super prison and then drops the act once they're alone; amy and rory are fine, he lets the doctor go free, they're a-silence huntin'. they catch river. amy tells the doctor she was wrong, she isn't pregnant

the doctor implants them with the career chip from futurama but it's a recording device and all of a sudden canton's shows that he has a message "how did it get in here" and it's genuinely unnerving. moffat is really, really good at horror episodes, very "something scary enough for children without being too scary for adults", he taps into these primal fears (aging, the dark, something under your bed, something in the corner of your eye, being watched) in a way that is always effective for me

they try to track down the little girl from part 1 by going to an orphanage. the guy running it is visibly unwell and the entire place looks condemned, LEAVE NOW GET OUT is painted on the wall, the guy says they're planning to close in '67. canton says that can't be true cause it's already '69 and the guy is confused. amy gets trapped in a room with more creepy writing on the walls, threadbare beds, suddenly covered in tally marks with a message saying she found them sleeping. we see them nesting on the ceiling like bats, and it's gross and creepy

she escapes the room and sees a hatch open on another door, we see a woman with an eyepatch who says "no i think she's just dreaming" and closes the hatch. hm. amy opens that door but it's just a child's room, the little girl's room. there are a lot of pictures of her on the dresser and one pic of amy holding a baby. what could it mean! amy gets ambushed and kidnapped

the doctor and rory find her palm chip on the group and it's live playing her crying and begging for help. rory says amy knows he'll always come for her and she starts begging for the doctor. poor rory, man. like i said in the other recap, that insecurity hasn't gone away, no neat bows on that arc. i love them your honor. the doctor and river find the empty astronaut suit and it's life support but the little girl busted out. "incredibly strong and running away, i like her" yeah i'll bet you do

the doctor and rory have a good weird little moment. the doctor says fighting the silence is like kicking the romans out of rome and rory says "rome fell" and the doctor says "i know, i was there" and rory says "so was i" god he's so cool. rory says he kind of remembers the lone centurion years, sometimes. the davies era has the companions all end up for the better after traveling w the doctor, he's the best thing that ever happened to them, a miracle. and he is, but the moffat era also acknowledges that he leaves scars, he's like cpr in that he saves your life but also cracks your ribs

they find amy! river has a gun! the doctor gets horny again "she really doesn't mind shooting people, i shouldn't like that but i sort of do" and then says she could kill at least 3 of them before they get to him, she says easily 7, 8 for you honey "oh, stop it" "make me" "mm, maybe i will" i NEED to be their third. i want what they have. i want to be the peanut butter in their sandwich. the doctor harnesses the power of gaslighting by inserting a clip of the silence saying "you should kill us all on sight" into the moon landing, ensuring hundreds of millions of people will see it and drive them away, even if they don't remember it

anyway we learned last episode that canton got kicked from the fbi bc he wanted to get married so nixon is like "the one you want to marry. black?" canton says yes and nixon is like "well i'm a little more liberal than–" and canton cuts in with "HE is." nixon does not approve. naturally. remember in that call of duty game when reagan asks for your pronouns? fuck me that was funny. nixon does not do that. we love a gay interracial romance however. i love you canton

the doctor asks amy why she told him she's pregnant and she's like idk you're my best friend (only friend, i think) and he's like "but you didn't tell rory?" and rory is like yeah you def should have told me. i'm a nurse, and also your husband. the doctor surreptitiously scans amy for pregnancy and it keeps oscillating between positive and negative. paging dr schroedinger

he drops river back off at prison and she kisses him and he flails a bit and she realizes they haven't kissed before, and his firsts are her lasts so this is it for her :( it's good, it's tragic. river hides so much pain under her flirtation and quips, she's very much like nine in that. i'd love to have seen them together

last scene we see the little girl who escaped the astronaut stumbling down a nyc alley and she tells a homeless man that she's dying but it's cool bc uhhhhh *explodes into light* you know how it is in nyc. what could it mean?!

next episode is mid if i recall. that's okay i need a break from thinking

It just awakened something in me, okay??? It came to me. For some reason I keep wanting to make Huaien degrade Xiaobao a little as a treat but it's really hard to achieve without making everyone sad and weird in the process, but is it really even degradation if it's on the basis that Xiaobao loves Huaien's dick too much to fulfill his marital duties and is simply too perfect to fuck? Is it? If we want to add weird genderplay into the mix we can have Huaien "complain" about how everyone is telling him he should be eating for two by now, they’re asking intrusive questions in nosy older relative style, and Xiaobao has two wolves inside him, because he wants to perform, he really does, but maybe he also feels empty in the way only Huaien can fix. SO honestly i do more daydreaming 24/7 than ever actual writing but i can still at least answer this from that standpoint AND my beloved tropes i read lol

1. (i agree with your no. 1 so i'm stealing it lol) I lowkey miss the days when people would tag that very hyper specific sort of angsty fic as "RANDOCHARACTER!whump" bc i eat that stuff up every. single. time. put those people in situations and make sure it HURTS. I want my characters to be going through it and have that situation worsen while the other characters take awhile to catch on, increasing the absolute drama of it all. whump is my no. 1 babieee.

2. for legit writing i've done, i can kinda only really get myself to do comedy/crackfics bc there's no pressure for being lore accurate or having a real plan/timeline. basically just go wild with fandom tropes and what not!

3. for characters i think the ones I've never gotten tired of reading for years and years and years have been obi-wan kenobi and spiderman (don't @ me ik ik very basic answers here).

more recent characters I completely scour the tags for now though are utahime (jjk), macaque (monkie kid) and honestly i've been reading a lotta the older naruto fics that really flesh out sakura and kakashi into awesome characters (or really anyone BUT naruto and sasuke bc they're the lamest characters on that show frfr).

I had phases awhile back too though for lotr boromir, dbh connor, james bond, and if i REALLY reach back then ik i liked hetalia fics (tho honestly i dont know that i had a fav character in it that i read more than others?).

4. A trope i can't get enough of is easily time travel/ dimension jumping. i fucking love that stuff so damn much. a character being dropped somewhere completely unknown to them and having to bend that new place's reality into their own framework of how the world works (meanwhile the people in this new place are ALSO scrambling to fit this mystery person into a concept that they can understand). or even worse, a character being dropped into a past version of their world. It's familiar but also so completely different that it might as well be another dimension AND now they have an incredible burden to fix certain events, dodge people they know, and also get back to their own time.

I usually prefer a fic where the character is going back in time but i can sometimes be alright with the ones where it's a person's OC being dropped into whatever existing fictional world. it just depends on the writing really.

5. Another trope i like but walks a fine line would be the deaging trope. this one...is very hard to see pulled off well and also my eternal annoyance is that the tag includes fics where they're just doing age play which is fine of course but also very much not the same thing at all nor what i was looking for but eh what can ya do.

Ig it's just that scenario where a character (who almost always has had a shitty life) is now somehow a child and other characters are having to realize how much this character has been through and trying to give them a better childhood for however long it lasts. When it's done well, it's great but more often than not, the writing isn't there or it very quickly goes to a ...strange...place...so hm ya just depends really. An absolute amazing example of it done well (though differing a bit from what i've described as a good one lmao) is the fic "wee doctor" from many many yrs ago. It's maybe one of the best fics i've ever read but granted it's been years since i read it to so take that for what you will lol

5. Establishing random friendships with side characters 😎 I'll admit, most of my writings do focus on romantic or romantic adjacent relationships, but I do usually also get sucked into incorporating other favorite characters which usually leads to possibly unlikely or very specific friendships 🤣

⇶ Everytime the thought of him seeing you in a romantic light crossed his mine, or anytime Bakusquad insisted he liked you, he denied it heavily

⇶ I mean, he didn't think he liked you when the thought crossed his mind at first, so he just kept telling himself that he didn't over and over

⇶ But gradually, his thoughts would with nothing but you, you, and you

⇶ It was so unlike him and he hated it, especially because he kind of (really*) enjoyed thinking of you

⇶ It only got worse the more you hung around him

⇶ You could be doing the bare minimum and this boys hands start sweating

⇶ Just walk into the room and he's a mess, your vibe alone sends him into an emotional frenzy

⇶ It got to a point where he couldn't take it anymore, and flat out just started ignoring you one day

⇶ The first day, you thought he was just being moody, as he does, and gave him some space

⇶ At that point, you decided there was no use in being angry

⇶ So you decided to poke it out of him

⇶ Especially when you realized that he was turning pink all the way to his ears

"Oh, I see." You said, making him turn back towards you, only slightly, and raise his eyebrow.

"You see? See what?" He asked, confused. You couldn't possibly know that he'd been doing all this because he didn't want to admit that he's lovesick for you. So what the hell were you seeing?

"This is over a special someone, ain't it?"

And that's when his panic start to set in.

⇶ The room filled with the scent of carmel, and Bakugo wiped his palms against his grey sweats

⇶ And that's exactly when you realized you hit the jackpot

"Oh? So it is? Who is it? C'mon you can tell me, I won't tell nobody." You teased, walking up to him and placing your hands on his shoulders.

"Hm, is it Mina? You sure hangout with her a lot." You said.

"No." He answered shortly.

"Jirou? Uraraka? Momo?" You pushed.

"No, no, and no. And Uraraka? Who the hell is that?" Bakugo retorted.

You loved your girl Uraraka, but you had to stiffle a laugh at the way he had no clue who she was, despite being in the same class as her.

"Okay, okay. Maybe a guy? Kirishima? Kaminari? Maybe even Ser-"

"Oh my God, it's fucking you."

⇶ Both of you were equally surprised at his sudden reveal, and the entire room went dead silent, aside from light nervous crackling emitting from the blondes palms

⇶ Bakugo was beet red, and didn't even look at you before he picked you up, and threw you over his shoulder

"Get out, get out, get out–"

⇶ Set you down outside of his dorm, and immediately went to shut the door afterwards

⇶ But you caught the door with your foot and put all your weight against it trying to get in

⇶ Of course, Bakugo is stronger so it did virtually nothing, the only reason you got in was because he let you since he didn't wanna crush you in the door

You stumbled through the door and damn near fell on your face before catching yourself.

"Nigga, what is wrong with you-"

"Please just leave." Bakugo pleaded, voice high pitched, still cherry red, and not facing you.

You sucked your teeth and rolled your eyes.

'I gotta do everything myself.' You thought.

Walking around him, and standing facing him, he looked so embarrassed that he was almost on the verge of tears.

You held his face in his hands, making him impossibly redder.

If he were a cartoon character, his heart would've been bursting out of his chest when you kissed him.

⇶ Even after that, Bakugo was still acting like a lovesick puppy around you, and everyone could tell

⇶ But he wasn't avoiding you anymore, quite the opposite actually

⇶ Most of the time, he could actually be found looming around you, fingers intertwined with yours and staring at you with hearts in his eyes

⇶ No one was sure if he'd get out of the trance-like state you put him under, and honestly he wasn't sure either but they all accepted it eventually

its just. grand. and something about the C#minor key reminds me of changbin. If we want to get more descriptive - the light left right hand/melody is very gentle, yet there's a lot of staccato when playing this and it kinda reminds me of how changbin can be very... sharp? decisive? to the point? like, he gets stuff done?? and i don't know how that connected in my head but it did so yeah.

(and i have some nascent thoughts bubbling about neo being the one who ‘saves’ her from the cat—not in the sense that neo intends to rescue her, but thematically it does matter that the character who rips the cat off of ruby’s chest is the character that the cat then eats; there’s a narrative foundation here for ruby to return the favor by saving neo from the cat. or helping neo save herself from the cat, more likely.)

and—while the allegory is not subtle at all—that it’s coming right after an episode that overtly rejected the notion of ascension being equivalent to death and portrayed wby as heroic in their immediate unconditional support for the paper pleasers’ desire to ascend… the relative locations of these two narrative beats isn’t accidental. the tree does not kill, it resurrects. the suicide allegory hinges on the deliberate narrative uncertainty about what ruby thinks ascension is: why does she drink the tea? what is she asking for? jaune imagines death, neo annihilation, but the paper pleasers say “we are delicate. our world is very fragile. we wish to become more resilient so that we can build something that will survive.” (<- ruby promised to serve atlas and keep people safe. her predicament is the same as theirs.)

is the distinction meaningful? <- a question i somewhat expect the next episode to interrogate. i mean the answer is yes, obviously, wanting to die is very different from wanting to change, but the thematic arc up to this point has been constructed by conflation of the two through the characters’ shifting perceptions; is the tree change or is it death, is it good or bad, does it kill or revitalize. irrespective of what ruby herself thinks, she chose to ascend and the tree answered her, so the threads will obviously get teased apart as we follow what that means for her. (and for little. true ascension vs whatever the ever after can offer ruby is something i’m really interested to see.)

practically speaking, ruby can’t lose her memories—or, not forever/not completely. (i do think a scenario where like, the tree takes her memories and then reveals them to her, a very literal change in perspective, is a significant possibility. what if you could leave ruby rose behind? what if you could see her through a stranger’s eyes? what might you think of her then? the thing about shedding an old coat is you can always put it on again. and if the coat is falling apart, of course, you do need to take it off before you can stitch it back together. how literal a metaphor are we looking at here.)

likewise i doubt very much that she’s going to drastically transform. (wardrobe change, reforged weapon, brushing off her bumps and bruises, yes; radically altered physical nature, no.) largely because her physical form is fine as she is—at no point has ruby been troubled by the limitations of her body—and the transformation she needs is spiritual in nature. if it ain’t broke… and what’s broken is her spirit, her emotional well-being.

which leaves, like, okay. you don’t want to be yourself anymore. what do you want to be instead? nothing isn’t an option. the tree cannot provide nothing. (that’s what the jabberwalker is for.) there needs to be something. you can’t think of anything? not one singular thing you want to keep? not even the tiniest spark of light in all this darkness? alright. turn around and look again. tilt the mirror, look again. what do you want? what do you really want, deep down where you’ve never let anyone else see? look at that. now look again. look for what’s true in this unreal place. if you can’t see what’s in front of you, look again. what do you want to be?

but first of all...the kissing thing. in what fucking world would he (xing si) want that unless he thought he (yong jie) was someone else. i can't say their attraction is evident because we are being lead by this team to think so; they create this false sense of sensuality already so to me that signifies that they never intended for them to have a bond as brothers. it just feels cheap and fucking lazy (which it is.) even if he did, which doesn't make sense considering the context THEY CONSTRUCTED, it wouldn't matter because he was so fucking drunk which.... at that point nothing is fun, you feel sick, who wants sex like that? does he not have whiskey dick? did they have a condom? was it not painful for him considering? even if this was something to easily get over like was the dick good? it couldn't have been. and then, on top of that, there's the fact that you can change your mind or whatever but also that people do get aroused in these situations bc it is human nature (that's if they can literally get aroused which if the drinks were allegedly sooooo strong that nigga would be out so....again like even practically here it doesnt add up. have these people ever been drunk? if not, write what you know girl. cos sometimes it's like i think some of u r trying to be cool when u dont have 2 b lmao)

I just finished going through some of the poll comments and I did get the vibe that all the various fandom factions are a little more unhappy than usual. I think there are a few things going on with the major one being that this arc is all over the place and the pacing has been especially off. Some recent chapters are so action packed that we can barely breath while others feel like slow and pointless repetition of themes or else too focused on side plots that don’t matter moments later. That is normally forgivable but since we are approaching THE END, more urgency is setting in. We seem to be collectively suffering from the earnest desire to get to the action already but not without our own personal caveats first. We want it to end, but we want it to end “our way”, which is a problem because we all want different things. 

People who support Eren ideologically are angry because it feels like the SC may win via unrealistic alliances and forced circumstances (flying titans anyone?). EMAstans are unhappy that Eren is so unyielding and there hasn’t been enough effort to explain him. Some SC fans were unhappy with the “we are the same” talk. Warriorstans didn’t like that either. Bertholt was mentioned 18 times in the write-ins which is more mentions than Mikasa received. People want resolution for him. Zeke and Historia fans are feeling this as well. 

The good news is that while we complain, very few people truly think Isayama is a terrible writer or that the series is garbage. Looking at the poll results again, even the worst ranked chapters like 91 and 126 received a median score of 3.5 on the scale of 1-5, still slightly above average. This chapter averaged 4.15. It’s a solid “Good” in the scheme of things.

With our fandom broken into so many distinct and often opposing factions, finishing this series so everyone is happy is impossible. I expect more and more unhappiness from the vocal members of the groups whose head canons go unrealized. Just keep in mind that those people are in the minority no matter how loud they are. While this series is flawed, most of us are still happy to be following it and excited to see where it goes.
