honestly anon... I know some people do and I don't really mind that, but I'm kind of the opposite haha... I like seeing other people selfship with aki, it makes me feel really excited to see someone else likes him as much as me...
but if you think differently that's fine, we're all here to have fun so do whatever makes you happy. if you don't want to follow me bc of selfship stuff that's okay with me 🫡
#don't feel embarrassed!!#it's like... whenever I see someone else love aki... I feel love too..... lol#I love aki so much and he's a big source of comfort for me as silly as it is sometimes#but I don't think he's 'mine' or anything#so if you self ship with aki too I don't mind#ask mags

ASHUTA IS SO COOL OHHH MYYY GODDD •□•!!!!!
Hi hi I loveeee your csm oc / insert ♡♡ THEYRE SO COOL Her lore is so interesting 💭💭 At least. The lore that I've seen so far is so interesting. AND HER DESIGN IS SO CUTE I ADORE IT SM 🏂🏾🏂🏾🏂🏾
I always love it when ocs break the "norm" of their universe (idk if that makes sense but her being a vampire when most, if not all of the supernatural entities are devils/Devil adjacent is so swag and cool and based I LOVE SEEING CHARACTERS LIKE THAT 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽)
Her and Aki seem so cute too :3cc I don't think you understand how STOKED I was to see them in the selfship tag. Saw it and ran around my room screaming (in spirit not in action) because YES !!! FINALLY!!! IM STARTING TO SEE MORE PEOPLE W/ CSM SELF SHIPS / OC X CC SHIPS !!!!
I wanna know all ur thoughts about Ashuta 💭💭 She genuinely seems like such a cool character they're so epic and awesome n cool n swag ((o(^∇^)o))
OMG HI!!!! IM SORRY I JUST SAW THIS Ahhh thank you so much!!! It's super exciting to met another CSM selfshipper!!!! :DDD I'd love to hear abt ur self insert omg I'm so glad you like her!!!!!!! It actually means a lot, she makes me really happy to work on :D
And trust me I will provide on Ashuta lore >:3 Here is The Food For Today. I didn't include art this time bc I have been eepy. I have ideas for long after this, but this is the general gist. I plan to eventually draw a lot (if not all) of this out. Here's her concept for her first appearance and mission (Chapters 14 to 20, or up to episode 7 in the anime):
So, after being found by Makima:
She is added to the team briefly after Denji and Power. I'm currently undecided at which point she should enter the story; I'm thinking about prior to Chapter 14.
Makima helps her find a place (up until this point, she's been homeless since becoming a vampire) near Aki's apartment, encouraging her to make friends. She suggests Denji could use a friend since he's similar to her (not fully human, rough background).
Ashuta believes that since she'll be on a team of devils and humans, she would be more likely to make friends since they should be more accepting, right? She shows up to the Hayakawa apartment with some food, trying to introduce herself as a new member of the team (and not disclosing herself as a vampire yet- Power can tell, but doesn't care enough to point it out).
Denji thinks at first she's friendly, but a bit too polite and wonders how someone like her got chosen by Makima. Power doesn't initially feel strongly about her either way, though she's delighted to meet Meowy.
Aki thinks she's polite (and finally someone easy for him to get along with on his squad), but questions why she became a devil hunter after a couple hours of them hanging out. She briefly explains that she's a vampire, and that her life was ruined by the Vampire Devil. Aki's tone quickly changes knowing she's not human, and the night is sort of abruptly ended.
CHAPTER 14:
She's integrated into the group with Chapter 14's mission in the hotel being her first (could be retconned later.)
She's a bit hurt with the talk of Aki and Arai not trusting "non-humans" and saying they don't have human rights, so she's quick to become very quiet since she assumed Makima's team of devils and humans meant she was more likely to be accepted.
Himeno can quickly tell that she looks upset and comes over to strike up a conversation, and the two make small talk throughout the mission. She tells her to not mind Aki, that he's just had bad experiences with devils. Ashuta protests that she's not a devil, but a devil makes an appearance before Himeno can respond.
Himeno discusses with Aki later in the mission that she's surprised Ashuta is so conscientious for a vampire- Aki shrugs and believes it's her being deceptive. Himeno goes to suggest he give Ashuta a chance.
CHAPTER 15:
Ashuta does bond a bit with Denji over the mission, both of them asking each other questions about their respective species ("So are you allergic to garlic?" and "Does it hurt when your chainsaws come out?")
CHAPTER 16:
In hopes of winning Aki's approval, Ashuta offers to help Aki hunt for the devil. She explains that since vampires don't really need to sleep much, she could help him all he wants.
Aki, unimpressed, asks why she's so hellbent on trying to please him when he doesn't care about wether she lives or dies as a non-human.
CHAPTER 18:
In the hysteria of facing the eternity devil, Ashuta finally snaps at Kobeni after trying to keep everyone calm the entire mission, telling her she's going to be a shit devil hunter if she freaks out at the slightest inconvenience. Kobeni yells back that it was easy for her to say, that she'd been calm and collected the entire mission because she can't die. Ashuta yells at her that pussying out and turning on her teammates made it more likely for all of them to die, and to shut the fuck up and help if she was going to stay a devil hunter. It certainly doesn't make Kobeni like her, but it shuts her up.
CHAPTER 20:
Ashuta joins the newbie welcome party. Denji questions how she can eat if she's a vampire, and she shrugs and explains that it's the same way devils eat- the only difference is human food isn't of nutritional substance to her and she doesn't retain any energy from it, she eats it for nostalgia purposes and the taste.
Ashuta lightens up when Makima joins the party, glad to see someone familiar- she considers Makima a friend, being the first person who was nice to her.
During the party, Makima asks Aki how Ashuta's first mission was, and wether she had done satisfactory. Aki admits that she did well, and Ashuta can't help but be a little happy at his approval.
As the night progresses, she gets drunk enough where she feels less afraid to approach Aki again. The two actually end up talking some. While drunk, Aki apologizes for the way that he had regarded her earlier in the night, and that she handled her first mission well, remaining composed in such a stressful situation .
Ashuta shrugs, and says it's fine- when she was turned into a vampire, she'd been shunned by everyone she once knew. She explains she still considers herself the same person she was before, but she fears rejection from humans more than she fears injuries from devils. He suggests she come stop by their apartment again sometime (more out of drunken guilt than actual like for her, but it's a start to them becoming friends).

Hi. I love your stories. From what I've read in current Mitsuhide's story, I was wandering if you are a native speaker of Portuguese or at least have a good knwolege of the language.
Hi Anon!
Thank you very much for the love. I very much appreciate it.
The short answer to your question is no - my native language is not Portuguese. I know almost no Portuguese. My native tongue is English.
The longer answer is that I have tried to learn the following languages: Hebrew, French, Spanish, Danish, and Norwegian. The operative word is tried. The technical term is failed. At best, I can somewhat read French, and at one point, I could manage to figure out newspaper articles in Danish with some context and a good dictionary.
Part of this might just be that I am a language dunce, and not capable of learning another language. Part of it might be more that in the United States, in public schools, students do not have the opportunity to take language classes until age 14 (an even then it is an elective and not required), and that's probably too late for most of us.
I wish I were better at language acquisition and greatly admire anyone who is fluent and able to communicate (speaking and writing) in multiple tongues.
As for the fic itself - though my main character Katsu has learned Portuguese, because the story is written in first person, I don't actually have of the dialogue written in Portuguese. Instead, I just note that such and such character (usually Francisco, but there will be a couple of others in later chapters), spoke in Portuguese, but because Katsu understands that language, she's already translated it in her mind, so whatever words the original speaker used, was already translated in Katsu's head.
Examples below the cut of how I work around it:
“Lord Mitsuhide – stop. That’s my partner. Francisco.” I pushed past him and called down to the lower level. “Francisco, up here. Don’t worry. I’m safe.” Then, because Francisco’s apt to forget his Japanese even in the calmest situation, I repeated myself in Portuguese.
Moments later, a puffing Francisco breached the top of the stairs and rushed into the room. His face was red and there were sweat stains visible on the shirt he wore under his jerkin. “Katsu. You are here. When I learned someone bought you, I thought, Akihira will murder me.” He paused and drew in a long panting breath. And then another. “I got lost and went to the wrong ship.”
Of course he did.
Note to self. Next time find a partner who can find their way from one end of the city to the other.
He was still speaking in Portuguese, so clearly his language skills (such as they were) had deserted him completely. I hurried to reassure him. “An acquaintance of Aki’s recognized me and purchased me. If you can repay him… and maybe give him a bit extra for his trouble, then we can be on our way.”
.....
In the next chapter, we get Mitsuhide's POV of the same conversation:
Shouts from below disrupted that thought. He couldn’t make out the words – it sounded like the Nanban tongue. Had her would-be purchaser found them so quickly and returned with more reinforcements? If so, it was a poorly thought-out ambush that would alert the victim to a pending attack.
He grabbed his sword and turned just as Akihira’s daughter yelled, “Lord Mitsuhide – stop. That’s my partner. Francisco.”
She rushed past him and called down to the lower level. “Francisco, up here. Don’t worry. I’m safe.” She then added something in Portuguese. Presumably to calm the man down but given that Mitsuhide did not speak the language he could not be certain of it. She could have given this ‘Francisco’ the opposite instructions in Portuguese and Mitsuhide would never know.
She understands Portuguese.
A useful skill.
Too useful to ignore.
He kept his hand on his sword, just in case as a short, stocky Westerner rushed into the room, his words tumbling over one another. Mitsuhide caught the words “Katsu” and “Akihira,” and none of the rest.
The daughter followed the gush of words without any problem and replied to the man in the same language. Not just familiar with the language. Fluent. Which turned her from an annoying impediment to a potential tool. Unfortunately, an aggravating tool.
-------------------
Granted, the fic would be much more realistic if I put the dialogue into the language it is being spoken in... but to do that I'd have to rely on google translate, and there's too much possibility of error that way.
This is more or less how it's handed when writing film and television scripts too. If the intention is that a character is speaking in another language, in the script that's signaled as "(speaking in Spanish)" but you write the dialogue in English. With spec scripts there is no guarantee that the whoever is reading your script (be it a producer or a contest judge) speaks that other language, so writing it in that language would cause them to miss potentially important information.
The intention is that if the script is ever filmed, they would either hire an actor fluent in that language and/or hire a translator, so those lines likely would be filmed in Spanish (or whatever language), and then subtitled.
Again, thank you for asking!

cassy! i have a question regarding an ask you received a few days ago. i couldn't find it but they asked about your self ships and you said that you don't have too many and it got me thinking....... what's the difference between self-shipping and writing and/or reading self-insert fics? maybe this is a dumb question hdgsgs but when i read/write self-insert fics i always imagine myself in those situations?? isn't it like self-shipping?
like i'm aware not everyone write with themselves in mind, after all it can (and should) be an exercise in imagination..but what's the main purpose in self-insert if you're not shipping yourself with those characters? ??
hi june!!! <3 TO BE HONEST i am not SUPER familiar with the self shipping scene so i hope my answer makes sense LKSFDLK .. i think, personally, i don't consider the reader insert fics that i write to be self-shipping just because i always give my readers personalities and backstories so i view them as more of an OC as i'm writing if that makes sense?? but i see what you are saying completely!! bc the point of reading self-insert is to ...insert yourself! so yes i think a lot of people read with the mindset that they're in the story (as they should)!! but even when i'm reading self-insert fic i still don't view it as myself for some reason? BUT yes i think that if you read and view it as yourself then that's self-shipping !!! what i meant when i said i don't tend to self ship is that. i don't really think about how i would be in relationships with my favs when i think about them but rather im thinking about them with some hypothetical..faceless other... AOSDLK.. and i dont tend to talk on here about cassie x aki or something like that for example bc i just dont tend to think about it much, strangely enough!!
to address your second ask (which is an interesting question that i actually haven't really considered until now LOL), even if i'm not actively shipping myself with characters when writing reader insert, i still love writing it because i love the characters i'm writing, and reader insert gives me more of an opportunity to focus on one particular character as opposed to writing ship fic, for example. i also like participating in the x reader community and writing readers with nonspecific physical features so even if they have a fleshed out personality, when i share my work hopefully people can find something relatable in them or picture themselves in it? (even if i don't??! DKFLKL this is so funny bc i've never thought of it this way.) i suppose for me writing reader insert is all about 1) the writing itself + the opportunity that x reader presents for character exploration without having to delve very deep into an OC or other character and 2) being able to share my work so that some people might be able to engage with it and relate to it in some way.

I see so well next quick question how about parings you have a very strong dislike for and why? (Also i agree with you on the Ib/Garry ship .. i like them to have a Brother/Sister relationship and there is a age gap after all but i don't mind people aging Ib up though)
*cracks knuckles* my change to let out some salt
(I agree with you on the ib/garry statement btw)
under readmore bc not everyone want to see That Nonsense
funamu pairings ;
lobco/roc (I think this is pretty self-explanatory? it’s really, really, really bad)
satanick/ivlis (ALSO SELF-EXPLANATORY… i don’t find ivlis’ abuse funny at all? i think that’s kinda supposed to be the intention, but just… no, lmao.)
fungas/chlomaki (I hate fungas and the way he acts with chlomaki, his personality is bland and too similar to a lot of dsp’s male characters)
other rpg-maker pairings ;
naomi nakashima/satoshi mochida (I like them as individual characters, but as a pair, it’s boring as watching paint dry)
aki/sohta [misao] (Yes, it is an existing pair… if you hate sohta as much as me, you probably wouldn’t like this either :^)
misao/tohma (It’s pretty obvious he hurt and played with her feelings intentionally and i just won’t have anyone hurting my daughter)
