Dragon Appreciation...

Appreciate A Dragon Day is coming up (Jan 16th) so I have done some quick pencil drawings in preparation - before the 16th I will touch these up digitally and make them look nicer and give them their own posts, but I thought a nice work in progress post may be fun.

Usually I draw in pencil then colour digitally, this was an attempt at colouring with pencil first... I think they will need a digital touchup as the colours aren't quite what I am looking for (Spyro especially looks greyish black rather than purple), but it was useful to experiment with coloured-pencil-and-scanner, I think the scanner adds too much contrast to the colours here...

Anyway, some Spyro, Falcor, Saphira, Toothless, Stormfly and Horrorcow doodles for your dash!
