I was intending on waiting until the cover art that @miliabyntite is wizarding up for me was finished, but it's New Year's Eve and I kinda wanted to post as a sendoff for the year. So, here we are, with chapter one of the DAV fic. Please everyone go put your eyeballs on my words, I have assembled them with care.

Danielle just went live with a few fans who were talking about the premiere and here are some key things she said in case anyone missed it!

The kiss in the episode still with them wearing scrubs was a rehearsal cut. She said they went all in on the kiss, full make out, during rehearsal and then they told them that they needed to tone it down because they were around people and in a workplace so it made more sense to cut it back a bit. (Danielle said she fought them on this, bless her. Too bad they didn't listen)

The baby who is Liam is actually played by a baby girl that is one of the crew member's baby. We're going to see a lot of her in upcoming episodes and they all fight over who gets to hold her when she's on set. The baby is only allowed to be on set for 20 minutes a day for scenes.

Danielle was able to slip in a 'babe' like people had asked her to in one of the episodes so she's hoping they won't cut it and she's trying to get other things we had asked for in there as well. There was one thing they said absolutely not (she was about to say what it was but then said the babe thing instead).

Episode 7x07 is a big Maya episode (written by Leah/directed by David) and she's going to go live with these same people to recap and give BTS from it.

We're going to see a bunch more of badass Carina which she knows everyone has been wanting and will be super happy about. She said it's more of 'old school' Carina.

She said the comforter situation was something she wasn't happy about at all and when she went on set and saw it she said it was so bad. She still won't say who is responsible for the choice.

She said Maya actually still does have her bangs, they're just slicked back. When Maya's hair is down, we'll see them more like curtain bangs.

Sparkstember Day 1: Halfnelson

This album is SO GREAT!! On my first listen I was immediately very impressed by it and I really love how it has this very particular early 70s rock sound that I'm a big fan of, while still being distinctly Sparks and its own special thing, at a time when Sparks was just starting to become its thing - the heart of it all was there from the very start! While it's not my top #1 favourite Sparks album or even one of my top 5 favourites (which is a nebulous category anyway that's likely to change and shift with time of course, and not even something I pay THAT much attention to) it's definitely still UP THERE and a very special album in my heart that I revisit quite often. Especially when I need something to simply relax but also appreciate some of that early Sparks' experimental and... almost whimsical? sound.

This album also reminds me of winter, a very snowy one at that, and that's in big part because of when I started listening to it for sure, but some of that vibe is already there in the music anyway if you ask me. Walking around a Christmas market in the city and hearing random tunes from this album playing in my head all the while, that's one great memory I have from last year. If I were to give this album some sort of visual representation it would definitely involve a lot of browns and other earthy tones - it would be very dark and mysterious without being scary or truly unnerving necessarily - think something like the Edith Piaf (Said It Better Than Me) music video, but less colorful and involving more wooden materials (yes, this is VERY specific and also definitely an image that's supported by that wintery association, as well as the imagery that my brain came up with for Simple Ballet, but more about that below...).

“I guess you’re right.” Eddie leans in again, pressing a soft kiss to Buck’s fingers. He lets his forehead rest against Buck’s knuckles, breathing him in. “But I prepared a speech and everything, so you gotta let me do this, okay?”

“Okay,” Buck agrees easily. He shifts his hand to cup Eddie’s cheek, tilting his head up so Eddie has to look up at him, staring into those big blue eyes, the ones shining like precious stones. Buck looks so happy, Eddie thinks he might glow in the dark. He knows he himself is probably glowing just as brightly.

“Yeah, I’ll let you do this.” Buck smirks, though it doesn’t look nearly as mischievous as he’s intending to, considering the tear rolling down his cheek.

“Propose to me, Diaz.”

“I’m trying, Buckley.”

“Make it a good one, and I won’t be Buckley for much longer.”

He was tall--taller than her father--and broad-shouldered, his perfectly tailored black suit clinging to the kind of well-muscled physique that made her think he'd served in the army. His hair was tied back in a short tail and powdered white, as was traditional, his face had the kind of elegantly structured planes and angles that would make a sculptor cry with joy, and his eyes--pine-green and piercing--were honed in on her.

He looked about as tenderhearted as a block of ice.
