I made a smaller post this morning, but I am super pleased to announce that Tumblr's moderation has approved SEAFLOOR as a Community! We're live, baeby!

Welcome to SEAFLOOR! This a Community run by myself, Sea (@gatheredfates), as an offshoot of the identically named Discord server aimed to contain both my personal projects and promote member-created content. If you would still like to keep up to date with my projects, interact with members of my community, and generally enjoy xiv content without the pressure of a Discord, this is the place!

This server has mandatory tags that MUST be used for spoilers. A general rule of thumb is the most recent patch/live letter is considered spoiler content and must be marked accordingly; as well as major spoilers for the most recent expansion. If it doubt, it always pays to tag. Please mind the following:

Much like my Discord, there are some house rules I want to put in place first for first-time users. Please familiarise yourself with the below. This post is pinned; you can't claim you haven't seen it. A lot of these are near-identical to the server rules, but I'll be no-less forceful in implementation if they are not adhered to.

If I'm being entirely honest, moderation past Community maintenance is something I do not want to engage with, so I will be intervening only when it is entirely necessary and will be harsh in my implementation. Therefore, if you don't think you can conduct yourself in a healthy, adult manner, do not join. Some of these rules may seem 'harsh' but are the product of me making clear boundaries in what I will expect, tolerate and foster. I will not hesitate to curate where I feel it is necessary.

I believe in the age-old phrase "Be excellent to each other," and that underpins every rule featured below. If in doubt, refer back to this mantra.

This Community is strictly 21+ only. This is to keep in line with my personal boundaries regarding minors. It's nothing personal, I just don't have time to moderate for a younger audience.

Common-sense rules apply. Do not break Tumblr's ToS, spoiler/content warm where appropriate and sensible, and don't be rude/harass people in the comments. Just because a rule isn't explicitly stated doesn't mean you have full reign to do the thing.

Intolerance (namely racism, homophobia, transphobia, etc.) will not be tolerated. If you don't like it, the back button is free.

Due to this being a predominately XIV focused Community, dark themes will present due to subject manner explored in the game. I will not enforce mandatory tags/censors outside of patch/expansion spoilers; I just ask that people use their common sense and consider peoples' safety and mental wellbeing when posting work(s). If you do not warn appropriately or mock/ignore requests for things to be censored/warned, you will be removed.

As Communities are in their infancy, rules may be amended/adjusted to better fit this space's purpose as time goes on. While I will attempt to make these changes obvious, please check back on occasion just in case. "I didn't know," is not a valid excuse.

intro, I guess?

hii! I figured I should make a post like this even though I have a feeling it will be like super messy xD

I've had an interest in history, specifically World War II basically since I was a kid. It was only recently though that I found out that there's a community for it! I've always had a thing with expressing my interests in ways that may seem slightly odd to other people, so it feels nice to see that there are others who seem to experience this in similar ways :3

I want to make it very clear that I am NOT a nazi or rightwing in any way, and I don't want actual (neo-)nazis to interact with my blog, seriously get the fuck out. Similarly, I don't want racists, lgbtq-phobes, ableists, religious extremists, pedos & zoos or people of similarly disgusting kind to interact. I'm literally queer and possibly neurodivergent (undiagnosed/suspected bc getting a therapy place is hard :/), this is really not a place for you. Also no Putin and/or Trump supporters preferably.

I've been a fan of the Downfall parodies on youtube when I was younger and recently relapsed into this fixation😭 I don't know if this fandom even really exists at this point since it seems that many creators have left in the meantime, but I'd love to talk about it, maybe I'll even get to write fanfics at some point. Also a short disclaimer that when I talk about historical figures that play a major role in the Downfall parody universe (such as Fegelein, Krebs, Burgdorf etc), it will usually be about their parody selves, not the real people! I'll try to clarify that individually if needed though.

I've also started lurking a little in the reichblr tag with a feeling that I'd describe as "indimidated fascination". Currently I'm mostly interested in some members of the Wehrmacht, but other historical figures that I had or have an interest in might come up as well. Overall any stuff that I post will probably go more into the lighthearted and humorous direction, but I'd love to bring in some more educational stuff as well.

I get crushes on fictional characters and sometimes historical figures too, but that doesn't mean I support, condone or defend their worldviews or actions in any way (this applies especially to real people of course)! These "crushes" usually stem from a place of fascination with who they were behind their public appearance, I want to know more about them as a private person, like their hobbies, favourite food and other mundane things like that. Often it's also simply that I feel physically attracted to their appearance because I think they're handsome, either that or they give me massive gender envy (or both lmao). I don't really control on who I fixate like that, it just happens, but I hope that this will be a place for me to express those feelings in some way and find like-minded people. Though I also want to point out that not all my fixations are automatically also crushes! Usually I will mention whether they are or not, or you'll probably notice based on what kind of posts I make about them lol.

This blog is multiship, male lean. Fair warning; Lorroakan isn't particularly interested in romance or sex, and he's a prick. I'm open to shipping, BUT ships will most likely be toxic / one-sided, particularly with Rolan (with the potential to develop into something wholesome over time!), and slow burn. By slow I mean glacial. In most cases, at least.

I won't write smut on the dash. The steamy stuff will be moved to discord or IMs.

Pre-established relationships: Yes. While first meeting or "they have been business partners" threads can be fun, they often take a while to get juicy, or they end up fizzling out. GENERAL Lorroakan is in his mid-late 30s, fairly young considering his achievements (mostly obtained through deceitful methods).

He presents himself as the great archmage of Baldur's Gate, but while he is a compentent wizard and keen enchanter, he is nowhere near as powerful as he claims to be.

Lorroakan laid claim to Ramazith Tower after its previous owner mysteriously disappearend, and he refuses to share the knowledge it holds (at least for free).

He is originally from Athkatla, one of the wealthiest cities in Faerun, but he grew up in the shadows of its splendor. His family (mother, father, two sisters, four brothers) could barely make ends meet, but Lorroakan has always been ambitious and harbored dreams of one day being just as wealthy and powerful as the elite of the Gem District. The practice or use of arcane magic is explicitly illegal within the city of Athkatla, but that didn't stop him; he practiced in secret whenever he could get his hands on a spellbook.

PERSONALITY IN A NUTSHELL . . . as interpreted by the mun ; Ambitious, diligent, intelligent, clever, creative ; selfish, arrogant, manipulative, power-hungry, petty, vain.

He has a superiority complex ; he is vain, has an overly high opinion of himself, makes boastful claims that aren't backed up by reality, has a habit of putting down those who outshine him.

(The way I see it) Lorroakan isn't a straight up villain. However, his ambitions and narcissistic nature drive him to commit morally questionable, and at times, outright despicable acts.

I'm open to shipping, BUT ships will most likely be toxic / one-sided, particularly with Rolan (with the potential to develop into something wholesome over time!), and slow burn. Where do you get your inspiration from? I really struggle to find pictures of houses that look more worn down and lived in like you to. Do you have any tips on making realistic lived in homes?

most of the time, i try to imagine what kind of person would live in the space i'm working on & build around that. for example, i may think of a young adult that lives in an apartment with a grandparent, so i place things in the space intentionally & accordingly- older-style decorations with bits of the younger person sprinkled in. i try to think of what they would do in the space day-to-day. i don't do any deep world-building, just enough to start. then i pick items that fit into that idea, lay them all in the room & go from there.

i also love using multiple patterns because i feel like they make the space seem more thrown together over a long time & not as curated. i like to keep aged & rustic looking items in my catalog for the same reason.

i typically don't use reference photos when i build, but i highly recommend looking for things like maximalist or abandoned spaces, for example. trying to copy a space with your own build/buy items can be a really great exercise for developing a sense of decorating.

The reason why I'm uncomfortable with women interacting with my Male/ Masc reader x Male character fics, is due to my experience with the Fujoshi's in my highschool and middle school. As well as the early day Anime fans in America.

While in middle school, having to hear my female classmates saying they would love to see two guys fuck. Because, they found it sexually arousing. Asking the openly gay students who's the Top and who's the bottom in their relationships, shipping those classmates with other classmates. Them making smut fanfications of those people. When I said I was uncomfortable with them talking about gay realtionships like that, they said I was being too sensitive or stated that, I was homophobic for not being comfortable with them talking about how two of our male classmates might fuck eachother.

So many women and girls around me growing up within my peers or online, didn't see same sex relationships as anything but sexual fantasies for them to enjoy. It made me so disgusted with myself being a man and liking men, I got increasingly more uncomfortable with my own labels. I started to become more and more underweight, because I kept throwing up due to stress and anxiety. Not only, me being mlm, but I'm a transman.

So while, being open on the internet has a Trans man. I was being constantly accused of faking being Trans, and people calling me a fujoshi. Where they would misgender me and tell me to kill myself, for being a disgusting human being.

Even though, now times have changed, it still gives me those feelings that I had in past, with it. Due to my trauma.

I can see where you're coming from and I'm sorry all that happened to you. The whole fetishising mlm relationships is the whole reason why I avoid the whole BL fandom all together.

You are allowed to curate your space in a way that you see fit. However, I do not agree with the methods. I share some of your experiences, but I do not believe that excluding women from my blog is the solution. I don't want to promote the 'them vs us' mentality.

I keep my blog open for everyone, because when I write gender neutral content, I want everyone to feel included. I believe by showing that everyone is allowed to just be, I stimulate others to allow everyone else to just be as well.

The whole DNI women thing feels so hostile to me (even though I am not a woman) and I don't want fandom spaces to feel hostile for anyone. I hope everyone can enjoy my content and if some people don't know how to act like a decent human being, I'll deal with them accordingly, but I am not gonna gatekeep out of fear. So this blog exists to provide friendly and kindhearted advice, motivation, and positivity via the written voice of the fictional character Optimus Prime from Transformers. Everything is written by a normal, average guy without any professional background, and therefore a limit is set on what is and isn't going to be on this blog.

Rules of what is and isn't permitted will be below the cut, as well as a self-introduction of the weird little dude who runs this whole thing.

This baby man helps me lots with my PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Every time something's wrong, Patron is right there to make it better. He's a rescue from the streets of the city I live in a suburb of. He's also got anxiety and depression, and Patron always needs someone there with him or he gets supremely rambunctious to relieve his nervous energy. I could spend my lifetime taking about how purrfect and great my big chonky Patron is, more so than I could ever talk about myself. He, as of writing this, is 18lbs of fluffy love.

I met him at an adoption event where every cat was a kitten except for Patron and one other. And nobody at all was looking at this boy. I learned he'd been there longest of all, 2 years, and poor Patron was lying sad and disinterested inside his cage. I asked to see him, and immediately the dude perked up. I went to hug him, and the shelter was utterly astounded as he lay in my arms contently because, apparently, he hated being held! Of course I brought him home moments later, and he's been king of the house ever since!

Uhh... the only other thing y'all gotta know about me is that I'm a metalhead supreme, LARPer, and RPG player in videogame and tabletop formats! You'll find me any average day dressed in all black with chains, gauntlets, Mjolnir, a tattered jean vest covered in metal band patches, cargo shorts/pants or a battle kilt, all while I'm probably outside to grab mac and cheese and hot chocolate at some random unholy hour.

I've received, with no exaggeration, at least a few dozen asks almost identical to this. I won't bore you all with posting them all, but hopefully this will answer the question. Read on or don't, but this is the last time I'll probably talk about this for a while. I neither expect a response to this nor particularly want one, tbh. Please don't leave me hate.

Inspiration is difficult enough under the best of circumstances; inspiration under fraught circumstances comes even more difficultly. Watching Bought and fics like it explode the Jily fandom several months ago really upset my ability to write for a long while. I'm only now getting back into the swing of it. A lot of that came from really nasty, vitriolic abuse I received in my inbox that I'll never post because it never should have been sent. I think that sort of reaction, sent repeatedly to any author, would probably discourage even the strongest of writers.

I still think Bought and fics like it have a place in the fandom and deserve creation. I also think that people are well within their rights to dislike them and not want to read them or interact with the people who create them. In the very first chapter, I was explicit about the content of the story for that very reason--so people understood the plot and the triggers and could make their own decision based on their own life experiences as to if they wanted to engage or not. I don't think the people who were offended were wrong; I also don't think that the people who enjoyed reading it--or, in my case, writing it--were wrong either. I do think it's wrong to spew hate at anyone regardless of what "side" of this they fall on--and I hate that there are sides, because I consider fandom a place where people should be able to create and interact as they see fit without feeling targeted one way or another.

I know I came to this space in 2020 as a place of healing after I lost my parents, and it's meant a lot to me to have a space of escape from the ongoing legal and personal ramifications that still continue. Although that's my personal story, I know a lot of people also see this as a safe space and I'd never want to contribute to taking that away from them. But the only person who knows what makes a space safe for you is you. (A general 'you,' obviously, anon.) There are things frequently discussed in fandom that I purposefully avoid. As a sexual assault survivor, I don't engage with fics that deal with any sort of theme of sexual assault. It's not good for me and I know it, but I think those fics have a purpose--even those that might glorify it, which was an accusation frequently given towards the fictional, magical racism in Bought (although I could write an entire separate essay about why I don't think that's true). I curate my experience accordingly, because only I know my triggers, and what upsets me might not upset another sexual assault survivor or another woman or another reader generally. I'm not trying to say that fictional sexual assault and fictional racism are the same, just as their real-life counterparts are not. What I'm trying to say is that your life experiences and triggers and squicks are valid, but only you know what they are.

As an author, I feel a responsibility to warn you about what you're going to consume before you get into a fic, which is a courtesy that most traditional media doesn't extend. As a reader--or a follower or a member of the community--I view it as your responsibility to decide if you want to engage or follow or interact. If not, please block me. It doesn't and never has hurt my feelings. In fact, I'm all about it. Protect your mental health and make this space safe and happy and enjoyable for you.

I still really love Bought. I love Lily's courage and her internal conflict and the sheer messiness of the entire situation. I love the idea of redeeming a man who irl doesn't deserve redemption, and I think that there can be learning done in seeing a fictional character come to reckoning for the choices they've made in a way that most people irl will never face. I think there's catharsis in that. I hope to come back to Bought someday, although not now. If and when that happens, I hope the people who find the fic distasteful will have taken steps to keep my content from reaching them, just as I hope that the people who enjoy it will be excited to see it return. That's it, really.

calling a trans woman a child and a whiner for rightfully condemning people for financially supporting a site that platforms both transphobia and racism isnt a good look tbh, just admit you care about preserving your fandom spaces more than people's very real problems with this site.

I use this site as a platform for disability advocacy, trans rights advocacy, and sex education. Fandom is secondary.

There is not a single platform out there that does not have bigots on it. It doesn't exist. I'm a trans Jew. The existence of transphobia and racism on this site affects me very deeply and very personally. The solution is not to cut off your nose to spite your face. I'll say what I said again - it is childish and naive to sit and bitch and whine about people financially supporting a space that they spend so much time using, in which they have community spaces that are criminalized or censored on other platforms. It is equally naive and childish to believe that this site - *on which you are complaining*, might I remind you - can just keep going with no changes to structure. I value a community space that allows me to be anonymous and do my work without risking losing my fucking HRT because the wrong people found out that I talk about still wearing dresses on testosterone online. It doesn't matter that she's a trans woman, it's a cold take.

What was the last thing you did to fight racism and transphobia in your community? Was it bitch and moan? Or did you actually spend the time dismantling racist ideals in your community? Maybe educate people on racist and transphobic rhetoric? Create a community space that is heavily moderated to protect members? If your attitude is to just scream about people buying entertainment to support a space that allows you to say lesbian without having to fucking censor it, then I don't want to hear you talk about bigotry on this platform. You know where else there's bigotry? Every single social media platform that exists. The difference between Tumblr and other platforms is that here, we're still allowed to talk openly about queer sex and relationships without fear of account termination. Without having to attach our real life names to our accounts. Without having to worry about advertisers changing the things we are and are not allowed to say. Apple's chokehold on half the fucking mobile market already caused irreparable damage to communities on this site that depended on it for their livelihoods. If the site changes hands again because it is a constant financial black hole, we can say goodbye to even more of our freedoms.

The freedom to talk openly about queer experiences without fear of repercussions depends entirely on the lack of advertisers sanitizing and colonizing this space. And keeping them out means supporting this site. ANY site that allows for open discussion is going to have a problem with bigots. That's just how the world works. This site is too big to eliminate every racist transphobe. Tumblr, unlike most social media platforms, actually has a functioning block and blacklist built in. Use it to protect yourself, and then work on dismantling those people's platform, or stop bitching. You HAVE to learn to take responsibility for your own online experience and curate it accordingly. Expecting websites to do it for you means begging big daddy capitalism to step in and censor everything til it's squeaky clean. And that includes pushing all mention of the dirty queers and greedy Jews into the back room and locking it, like they have over, and over, and OVER again.

It is your job as an adult to protect yourself online. Curate your own safe spaces, because you cannot get rid of every bigot that exists. It's not possible. And sitting and complaining about the rain instead of pulling out a damn umbrella and helping your friends put up a tarp is childish. It's also a very privileged position. For many of us, there is NOWHERE ELSE TO GO. And this place allows us the freedom to exist without fear of censorship, doxxing and catering to capitalism. It's not perfect, but if you sit and refuse to take steps to make the world better - like helping keep a platform that you depend on from caving to the bullshit gentrification happening everywhere else - because the result isn't perfect, then you're wasting everyone's time and energy. Someone is going to have to do the dishes after the revolution. If you wait for automation to prevent people from having to do that labor instead of rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands wet, it's never going to get better.
