My father is a registered Republican. Today while watching TV, a Trump ad came on. And my father said that while he doesn't like Harris, he hates Trump even more. He said that he's not happy about it but he's voting for Kamala because she's the "lesser of two evils."

And I'll take it.

He was planning on voting 3rd party this time around but he realized that he needs to help stop Trump and the way to do that is to vote for someone who actually has a chance to beat him. I know for a fact my dad voted for Trump at least once before but I'm just so glad he never joined the Trump cult. And I'm even happier that he realized that we cannot have Trump win again.

#i wonder if he didn't have a queer kid if he would have joined the cult #because my dad knew that Trump has been anti LGBT since day 1 #and my dad is actually a pretty good dad who unconditionally loves his children #which includes me who is a very queer trans man #he admitted that having me as his son made him more open minded and accepting of others #so i wonder if i was cishet would he have gone full maga or would he have kept his ability to actually think logically
