i know lisa is said to be 20 in canon but that is not true. she’s 18 by 2014, which is when she meets claire. which makes them 6 years apart. lisa sees claire as her older sister, and this is both good and not very good. because it’s claire

#i’ve answered an ask before. by hssprimefan. about how claire and lisa have a lot in common #they have similar mothers. and similar fathers. too. well. the absence of a father.#so i think claire is very protective of lisa. and agency is a big theme of both their characters #i think claire sees a lot of herself in lisa. 18 year old claire that had just moved to san francisco and was Free from her parents for the #first time. and that was good! but also she spiralled into a lot of self destructive behaviours #as i’ve shared in her lore post. she moved far away so she could have freedom and That WAS her making a choice for herself #yes she was under her father’s influence (majoring in bio and stuff) but she could’ve stayed in santa barbara. UC has a campus there.#she did not #so when she’s finally free she wants to do everything! she’s an adult now!#<- this is exactly what lisa goes through in hollywood u i think. and i think claire grows very worried #seeing lisa doing the same things as her. and claire is aware (to an extent) how self destructive that period of her life was. still is but #anyway maybe that’s an interesting thing to explore. claire can see that lisa Needs to find a middle ground and she’s set on helping/guiding #lisa through stardom so she doesn’t well. spiral. while at the same time claire cannot see a middle ground for herself #much to think about!#oc: claire swanson #claire & lisa
