Now listen ever since Boothill leaks dropped of his backstory i hated the IPC, and then i went on to learn more about them and damn. If Sahsr were real theyd be dead by now.

Like i take my hatred seriously, i just started Topaz's quest and i was nitpicking the most humbling options and the ones that were most pessimistic towards IPC, i decided to not pull ANY IPC CHARACTER, Topaz, Aventurine, Jade, Im not pulling any of them, f the shield and f the treasure, and my love for Boothill is visible, hes the reason i redownloaded (i was still very much in the tutorial part) and kept the game this time, and while my saving could have been bigger(i got a bit greedy on standard pulls) their at 110 with no pity on both character and weapon banner, i am getting that mf

And thew self aware lenses the Astral express is debating, the IPC arent perfect, yes, but they have friends there, they DID help places, but their grace refused to have anything even remotely positive towards them, should they...cut off all ties? If it pleases their grace maybe, and they cant deny how valid your concerns are, they are bad people, they have disapointed their grace, in fact youd be happy if they got wiped wouldnt you? No, youd want them alive. To torture them, and then... For their last breath will serve as a suficient offering

The IPC meanwhile are sweating bullets, some of them are aware of how rotten they are, some genuanly believe they are good, Topaz unfortunatly falls into the second category, she and Numpy are reaching high and low for only the best treasure for your offerings, pleading, begging you to forgive their actions, and maybe you could, if she felt and never looked back, burning away what was left, Aventurine's hands better off being choped off, its vibrating from panic, hes pacing back and forth, chewing on his glowes, can he even leave if he wanted to? who would he turn to? what would he do then? He may have been blessed by Mama Fengu but you... You are anything else, he doesnt like the IPC either but he knows that if you could, youd travel back in time and give him the coldest responses, and death threats behind that beautiful, safe screen. Jade, Miss Jade, Powerful and in control Jade, knew she was the most screwed from the three, it was no secret, what she did to Aventurine, her slaves, they held their usual expressions but she knew they were smilling on the inside, awaiting your rescuse from her hands, she knows turning over a new lief wasnt an option, youd just laugh at the idea she could reddem what she did, all she can do is call Diamond and seek a solution, what else is there

Boothill, Ive never seen him happier, he cant wait for hes release, for you to come pick him up, get him a brand new gun, give him all those thingamagics to make him stronger, to better make you happy, you care so much about him, hes your favorite, he hopes youll be happy w ith his trial and still choose him, hell do his best there! Oh he can already hear and see it all when the prophecy comes true, for when that stupid, cage breaks.... The wedding bells... The little rascals.... He already has a few names planned! Isnt he so great?

Sun and Moon Set

I wanted to create something to accompany the new Crystal Creations Stuff Pack and I had fun creating these items. At first, it was only going to be some new wallpapers, but then I was late uploading, so I decided to add a few more items to make up for it.

Set Details.

11 files in Total

6 walls -- Three with baseboard, three full length. Two colors of wood per package file. 

3 rugs -- Moon and Stars, Crescent Moon boarder, and Moonchild with Ouija board. 

1 Moon painting with three different boarders.

Voidcritters (Afterschool Activities+)

18 August: This mod has been updated. Please refer to this post for more information before downloading.

6 May Update:

This is just a small update. Apparently the Store Tablet (which the Simtendo Twitch is cloned from) gets routinely purged from inactive Sims' inventory. So I updated it to stop it from happening. You just need to redownload the MAIN file to get this fix.

19 March Mod Fixes/Tweaks:

Mod should now run for players without Script Utility (thanks to the Anon for bringing this to my attention!)

Included a fix where Sims without cards asking others about their favorite voidcritters produced an error

Fixed an issue where the "Ask to Join Voidcritters Club" option was still available even after the target joins the club

Sims can now sit while playing Voidcritters Go! on their phone

Please also note that you need CCLoader in order for the custom comic books to show up.

This is a TS3 version of Voidcritters which came in one of the TS4 packs and the second in my Afterschool Activities+ series of mods. I haven’t actually played with Voidcritters in TS4 but I really liked the concept and the worldbuilding and effort they put into it. Technically anyone can play but I made it for children and teens in mind. Sims can collect, trade, train and battle Voidcritters cards and play with their friends at the Voidcritters club. I didn’t want to go through the trouble of converting that bulky battle station and was planning to put it on the computer but then saw ATS3 had created a Nintendo Switch system based off the Store tablet and that was perfect.

The card and packs are by me converted from TS4. The Switch is from Around the Sims 3 and is based on the Store tablet so you will need the tablet for the animations. Unfortunately I couldn’t figure out how to edit the video effect for gaming so it’s off completely and I just added some gaming sound to it. If anyone knows, please give me some tips!

I'm pretty happy with how this turned out except for the Read Stats interaction on the card. The card sticks through the Sim's hand. I tried for hours to fix it but alas, animation is not my forte. I was going to just remove it but it's the only place where I included the cute little descriptions for each Voidcritter so I'm leaving it in. Aside from the descriptions, all the information on each of your cards can be found either in the skill journal or by hovering over each card.

You need NRaas Career for the custom afterschool club, the Store tablet for the Twitch and Generations and University for other gameplay or animations.

How to Play

Voidcritter cards can be purchased in Entertainment/Hobbies&Skills or Kids Room/Toys. They come in packs: Starter Packs (§75) which have Common cards, Booster Packs (§90) which have Uncommon cards, and Battle Packs (§105) which have Rare cards. The cards you get are random each time you open a pack.

Common cards are ��25 each, Uncommon are §45 each and Rare cards are §105. The values of the cards will depreciate over time but also can increase depending on their rarity and power level so you can sell them to make a some profit after training them up. 

You train up your Voidcritters on the “Simtendo Twitch” handheld (Electronics/Misc; §500) and then battle them against other Sims that also have Voidcritters which will boost the power level of your Voidcritters and your Voidcritter skill. 

Using the Twitch, you can battle with anyone who has a VC card online or anyone who has at least one card and a Twitch in person. Battles are decided based on the players’ VC skill, the power levels of the Voidcritters that are battling and if they have an elemental advantage (i.e. Water Voidcritters have an advantage over Fire ones).

You can also play a mobile version ("Voidcritters Go!") on your smartphone. However, this will only increase your VC skill. You can't battle with cards on it.

Voidcritter Skill

The Voidcritter Skill is for children and teens. There are 10 levels for this skill. Once you max out the skill, you will get a Limited Edition card.

There are two skill challenges: Battle Master and Top Trainer. A Battle Master is a Sim who has won 20 battles. They will earn extra battle points when in a battle.  A Top Trainer is a Sim who has at least 5 Voidcritters with 100 power level each. (I know the photo above says different because I took it before I made the change after realizing how difficult that challenge would be.) After achieving this challenge, you will be able to train your Voidcritters much faster.

Uncommon, Rare and Limited Edition cards are skill-gated meaning that you have to reach certain skill levels (4, 8 and 10, respectively) in order to train or battle with them.

Gameplay Interactions

Aside from buying cards, you can also trade cards with other VC players to fill out your collection or get rid of duplicate cards. You can also give cards away. If other Sims have cards, there are specific interactions that will appear like asking about their favorite Voidcritter. Children and teens can also beg their parents or grandparents for a Simtendo Twitch. If you have a bad relationship with someone and they have cards, you can beat them up and steal a card from them.

Voidcritters Club

Voidcritter enthusiasts can join the Voidcritters Club afterschool activity where they will gain VC and video gaming skill and can battle with other club members. There’s also a chance they may find a card while at the club. Sims can invite their friends to join the club as well.

Other Nerd Actions

Sims can read one of the 8 Voidcritter Comics you can purchase at the bookstore. There’s a 25% chance that you find a card in the comic book.

Finally, what is a proper nerd without some fanfic? I added the option for Sims with Level 5+ Voidcritter Skill and Level 1+ writing skill to write Voidcritter fanfiction. You can also read fanfic if someone else has written it and if you are the writer, you can read reviews of your fic. Playing Voidcritters and everything VC related also builds the Nerd Influence skill.

A while ago I decided I should redownload Genshin bc I was finally in the mood to play it again. Annnd now I remember why I uninstalled it a few years ago...

We're on Day 3 of slowly downloading over a year of updates + the game itself ☠️ I've also had to pause the process twice to clear storage space.

At this point if I wasn't already 2/3rds of the way done I'd just say screw it & bail, but I've cleaned too much already and I uninstalled Skullgirls for these anime bitches so we're finishing this goddammit

I'm currently uploading a metric fuckton of pet videos and photos to my google drive so then I can delete them from my phone... it may take me like a week though 🫠 I mean on the bright side I needed to do that anyways bc I wanted to copy them from my chromebook to a flashdrive as a backup. But lord it is taking SO LONG I can only do like 10 files every 20 minutes ☠️💔

Thank you everyone for your feedback on the demos! I am very happy you all came to like it. Don't feel discouraged from sending any new feedback though, since it's gonna be awhile until I get back to work (I'm in exam hell 'till mid May), might as well use the time to advantage.

Most of you seem more interested in game/visual novel format, therefore in this post I'll talk about features I mean to implement, or think of implementing. I'll also talk about possible updating schemes (chapter basis vs. all-at-once), let me know what you think about those. For those who won't get intimidated by text, I'll leave some WIPs for artwork at the very end :3

Discussing game features!

Random events Now this is something you've already experienced in the demo, albeit in its rough form. Since I'm planning a kinetic/linear story (aka there won't be a choice system) because writing a branching story is going to kill me, this serves as a sort of replacement. Due to random chance being involved, random events will happen only during "moments of respite", so to speak, when there is no danger and no consequences for the main plot. Random events are mostly "character flavor", additional moments that, if you miss, won't hinder the major story, but they do add fun little details to characterization. This should mitigate possible unfairness while still bringing some replay value to the table. I plan on implementing a scene list, where you can view names of all encountered/unlocked scenes, sort of like achievement list.

Turn based battles This one is more ambitious but not entirely impossible. There are tons of tutorials on battle system in Renpy and even codes already written and running. Battles could be another way to make up for lack of choice system and thus lack of gameplay. Plus, the script outline already features numerous fighting scenes, and given it's VtM, I feel battles could be implemented organically. I'm mostly thinking of watered down Darkest Dungeon, or, if you're hip, Honkai Star Rail. The amount of "water" is yet to be decided, but it should be relatively simple both for me to implement and for you to play through. Don't know if I'll add anything that could be called "leveling up characters" but I am thinking of making battles skippable in options. This is still mostly an idea, and I'll need to make some tests first to see if I'll be able to implement this in actual game.

Updating schemes!

First things first, I'll need to write the entire script. The reason why I don't want to make it chapter basis is, based on my past experience, there's a high chance I'll figure out some changes needed in previous chapters as I work on next ones, so I go back and edit them accordingly. And this works best if I'm writing the full thing back to back, without publishing. Release when it's ready. This should take me a year, give or take, again based on past experience (it's almost the same amount of writing I had to do back then). I understand it's quite long but I don't feel comfortable changing this workflow of mine :(

Now, for actual game development, there are two options:

All-at-once Basically the same as with the script. I develop the entire game and then publish it in one piece. Personally I feel this would work best for me, but it would increase the already big enough wait time to around two years, best case scenario. Probably two and a half, or even three. I understand it's hard to wait that long, which is why there is a second option.

Chapter basis I develop a chapter (insert all the text, art, animation, music, etc.), publish it, then proceed to work on the next one and release it when it gets done and so on. Sort of like game patches. Bendy and the Ink Machine style if you remember that thing. You redownload the project and continue from your last save. This gives me a bit less control but also makes you wait significantly less for main story content.

Please let me know which option you would prefer.

December 31 2024 continued

Meow meow, greetings and welcome to one last entry for this year. I thought I would post another entry before I close out this year. I will be back next year of course to blog more hehe. I hope everyone has had a great year. Meow anyway now let's get down to business here hehe. I was upset earlier today after I blogged last time. No one was talking to me so I was kind of upset because of that. I know I shouldn't let people tell me or have people to be happy. Anyway I watched a couple of YouTube videos on the living room TV until I turned the TV off. Little while later my mom came home and I talked to her and told her how I was feeling. We talked for a while until I decided to go back to my room and play some Animal Crossing on my Switch on my TV this time. I then found out last night that the PNY SD card I had it failed to download the games. So after having my shower and shaving my face I went to talk to my dad after he woke up about the trading the SD card I have for another one. I told him like I told my mom that there's nothing wrong with the PNY SD card so he found an unopen unused SD Card which should be more reliable for the Switch then the PNY SD card. So I am redownloading games that I purchased beforehand and see if it works this time. So after that dinner got ready and I had dinner. I watched a YouTube video on my Switch on my TV and once I finished my dinner, I went back to playing some Animal Crossing. I decided to wait till my dad was finished with dinner until I went to do the dinner dishes. I also wished my dad goodbye and a Happy New Years since he has to work tonight. Meow after that I went back to my room, grabbed my dirty laundry and did a load of laundry. Meow I also grabbed something to drink and went to my room to start this entry. I also placed my Switch from docked mode to portable mode so that I can check on it while I am on my bed. Meow that's pretty much it for now. I might post some more pictures or I may not. Anyway I think I will close out this entry for now and say goodbye to 2024. Meow until later, bye.

Mustangs, Deer Ankles, and Split Images

Isn’t it wild how someone new can waltz into your life, and suddenly, your heart’s throwing a party you didn’t even know was on the calendar? "And yet, just as quickly, you realize that not every guest at the party is meant to stay until the music fades.

Jalen Thomas...I'd met the guy in late September on Hinge (just redownloaded and deleted the app to check the date and realized it says "short term relationship...yikes omg I played myself) and initially he was really fun to talk to! Eventually like most dating app interactions he asked for my number and why wouldn't he I'm fuckin interesting yupppp. But we talked consistently until it wasn't, which honestly was ok (no it wasn't I was devestated!! First interesting guy I've met in years and he's not consistent 🤦🏾‍♀️)

For background we had facetimed before and his voice kinda threw me off. It wasn't what I was expecting honestly. It was kind of white but like awkward sounding so it was weird; and after that I was ok if we were just Instagram mutuals or pals bc???? what was THAT!! But nonetheless we hung out and my perception changed. Im not sure if when I face timed him he was sick or maybe congested from laying down but in person his voice wasn't unbearable. It was a perfectly fine voice. Our hang out was not awkward, I think as people we're both awkward and it bounced off each other well. We did a lot of talking which I made sure of just so I could understand the vibes. There was no real phone time which I enjoyed a lot! It was just us breaking the ice and progressively becoming more and more comfortable with each other. I think what I liked most about him was how comfortable I felt. He's so awkward, cringy, lame, and insane or outrageous but in an admirable way. In the type of way that brings a twinkle to your eye because they're so outward about it that it makes you comfortable enough to do the same. After the first initial hang out I was locked in!! I was smiling, skipping, and giggling. I had so much hope in that very moment that this could be something special, something real. It felt like a connection I hadn’t experienced before, and I couldn’t help but get excited about where it might lead.

The next day I went to his school and met his friends and roommates and his friends were all nice young men but nothing compared to him. I don't know if I'm just insane orrrr but he was the most beautiful sight to me. To see him in his element with his friends and at the basketball game with no shame made me want him more. His skin is so clear and chocolatey. His eyes are like pools that you want to swim in and have your kids inherit so you can continue to love them past their youth. His personality is so refreshing!!! To have someone so unafraid of being cringy and unorthodox is so amazing to me. He made his friends look like supporting cast. But. something in the air felt off. I think even before I left Stevenson, within the first couple hours of me being there his energy felt shifted, but I assumed he was tired from all the energy he exerted at that basketball game. I wanted to have wishful thinking. In the end it feels like I may have overstayed my welcome but he was too nice to say anything.

The next morning I ended up forgetting my headphones, which… like girl, what. I texted him about it, and we both acknowledged my little mishap, but after that, from Wednesday to Thursday, there was no response from him, just constant posting. I became increasingly confused and a little anxious, wondering if I’d done something wrong or if he was just losing interest. The silence was loud, and it left me second-guessing everything. It wasn't until I talked to my friends and family about my stuff being there and him not answering that I decided to go up there abruptly at like 10pm at night. He ended up finally responding, giving me my stuff, and sending me the message seen above. To be frank, I'd only really known the guy for 2 days in real life but I was DEVASTATED omg. The excitement I had about this man was unmatched. It was comparable to when I first met my first real love. Then again it's more like I was shocked but not surprised. I should've followed my intuition.

He made such a lasting impression! He was the epitome of what type of guy I'm looking for right now personality-wise, but obviously, it didn't work out. It's kind of disheartening. It feels like love won't ever really come for me. It always feels like I'm reaching and putting in effort for something that just slips through my fingers. Like no matter how much hope or energy I put in, it’s never reciprocated in the way I need. It’s exhausting, and it makes me wonder if I’m asking for too much or if I’m just looking in the wrong places. I ended up listening to The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, and honestly, its timing is very fitting. The way she sang, the pain in her voice, the yearning—it felt like she was putting words and melody to the emotions I couldn’t fully express. It’s like she understood the bittersweet mix of hope and heartbreak, the struggle of wanting something real and not knowing if it will ever come.

The next day, I woke up still devastated. I rode to class on my scooter and almost cried (I know, dramatic). But as the week progressed, I made the executive decision to give up! I'm so over men! The constant push and pull is not, and has never, served me. It’s exhausting and draining, and honestly, I deserve so much better than this emotional rollercoaster. I’m choosing to prioritize myself and my peace because, at the end of the day, I’m the one who truly has my back.

wonder which games I'm gonna need to download a rom of and play on the computer... or play on steam assuming i buy the steam versions too...

rpgs in general have some kinda small text~~~ I hope if it does come down to me having to do that to play my games it's not a crime or something; cause as a teen emulation didn't bug me but after I got really worried and scared about torrenting stuff, I've kinda lost it for emulation too...... (I've posted about this before i think)

where do I even start with megaten? I'm not exactly that big on (or good at potentially) juggling my time with social links... but it could be fun~~~

I think I dug through my files of (extra content) on my 3ds after looking through all the games and it says I have Persona Q data there but I don't have the game installed and bought it digitally.... guess I made room for something else and now can't redownload it if I bought it cause the 3ds servers and eshop have been dead for a while....

also had Persona 1 and the earlier games started but for some reason my vita decided to spit up a screen after my battery died for idk how long and deleted everything I had for some reason.... thx vita..... had to reformat and redownload everything ~~~

Hello I'am returns 1 year after played Pokemon but it seems present day…

I don't have time to back play Pokemon Scarlet and Violet after release new DLCs. Of Course. I didn't continue because in trouble asked Big Brother on messages: I just went request buy DLC before release but big brother says he's won't be requested to buy dlc anymore so he says do buy youself on video game shop Big Brother looks mad me so… I decided to be not continue play pokemon Scarlet and Violet then my decision right now after end messages.

I went to ignore him from made me envy because my mental health is out control mind also in trouble i remembered trauma past it always fights Big Brother due play PS2 in school era.

What i have done myself… My decision be may changed.

A Next Day later on Sunday Me and my parents as thanks on video game shop to buy DLC first time without needs big brother request. also i got 2 new sequel games for later be play game soon, i won't let my wishlist game has sold out. I don't know what should buy new games now… Oh no, my Data management goes full after big update pokemon Scarlet and Violet's DLC, My Online Game.

After update finished, I able play pokemon Scarlet and Violet but just focus on event tera raid 7* only I don't have No plan to continue play DLC after frustrated about big brother and damaged mental health mind

Few Month Later I planned to buy microSD card to able bring redownload online game, previous update games and demo games it first time used microSD card on Nintendo Game to increase stroage data.

Well my previous game as cleared years ago is returns to nostalgia and restore mental health mind from trouble remembered past has lost treasure game. my mind really wanted to play again after buy sequel game:

And if anytime I want to reinstall some of my Steam Titles, I'll redownload some titles that I want to focus on or games that I would enjoy the most. So thank you, Mikey, I bet you would be the greatest computer player to play online with me, Spot, Caleb and Deev. And maybe if two of my boys, Zack and Speedy wanted to play a Computer game, I hope they won't mind using a controller and play some games that might be suitable for them.

And also, those meals my P-Pal got looked really good. Normally in my country, we always eat Ham for dinner, but I'm sure if the Ramcats and the Speedsters and the Rabbits will enjoy a Christmas meal. But for Sam, we'll give him some Mashed Potatoes and other meals that don't have meat in it.

The Crystal Glass Set 2.0

I always loved these glasses and decanter from the debug menu, but after an hour out on the counter the debug item would begin to smell and give my sim a negative moodlet. Not only that, but some of them, like the draught glass and decanter come from the Vampire pack.

I decided I wanted to bring the items to base game and make it so  they never spoil. I also wanted to give the glasses more color options!

**Well now I have added even more!!!

** I also added Black and White as color options!!

Each glass has 11 recolors. The base clear color, blue, cyan, green, orange, pink, purple, red, yellow, black and white. The decanters come in the original colors plus more to match the glass colors. Also added are the Glass Pitcher and Bottle with Stopper. I hope you enjoy them as I do.

After finishing Mitsuhide's route for the second time, I decided to try and play Kenshin's. Which I started yesterday. I made this decision because Kenshin seems like an interesting character and he's probably one that even after two years of playing the game, I still know barely anything about. Like I know that he's the opposite of Chevalier in which when he falls in love with MC, he becomes more gentle. I know somewhat about him having a pet bunny. And I know the stupid reasons that historians assumed he hates women and came up with that theory that he was a woman. I also understand that Kenshin is described as yandere.. But if I could survive Mitsuhide's romantic route, I can survive Kenshin.

Who the fuck am I kidding. I made an entire post complaining about it.

But that's as far as my knowledge goes. Well, I also know that he has trauma or something and that he randomly assaults his employees as stated by Sasuke on more than one occasion but whatever. I can't remember what I thought of Kenshin back in 2018 when I first downloaded the game. I honestly don't even know if I acknowledged Kenshin back then. All I remember is the part in the prologue where Mai saves Nobunaga and then the part in chapter 1 of Nobunaga's route where he tries to use Mai as a cup. Dont- dont ask.

But after redownloading the game two years later? I still didnt care about Kenshin lol- It wasnt until I discovered the fandom side of things that I really started to pay attention to him. And the more I saw, the more intrigued I got. So now, here I am, playing Kenshin's route. I only started it yesterday so I cant say much but.. My opinion of him has already changed multiple times. And I dont know if thats a good sign since my opinions of the others remained mostly consistent til later on-?

Currently what I've noticed is that 1.) Kenshin does not seem to hate women. He was just raised on misconceptions and doesn't seem to have an interest in romance. Which- fair. And 2.) Kenshin reminds me of Mitsuhide in an odd way? As in the fact that he's telling Mai to live her life how she wants, to not let others dictate how she lives. He tells her to be herself. Not the whole he constantly teases her for his own amusement and for a reaction and makes her want to scream. Not that at all, I dont even know if Kenshin has a sense of humor. Leaning towards no. But, what he said is very similar to what Mitsuhide said in his route, except it was later on. Around the undercover mission part. Kenshin literally says this shit in chapter two, so mans is movin' a lil fast but thats alright.

Thats at least my current opinion. Kenshin seems to put up a front that he enjoys battle and bloodshed, but deep down he feels a sense of duty to protect others. Even if he doesn't acknowledge it himself, thats what Im noticing and thats the direction my brain went in. Which I guess adds up to the whole "he's secretly gentle" ending? Idk. But I currently have no problems with Kenshin's route. I actually find him to be a bit amusing rather than scary or anything negative. Barely one chapter in and I was already laughing at how stupid he can be.

Im not sure if I'll make another post like this as I play more. Or maybe I'll make an entire post explaining my opinion once I finish his route? Dunno yet.

Store Conversion Adventure...

So I promised a list... but before I share the list of the files the game required me to ‘re-convert’ before it would treat them as the same store item as before conversion to package files... first, I shall share my theory on why this happened.

I don’t think it has anything to do with Blam’s files at all. They’re all impeccably converted, showed up in the appropriate categories in the in-game buy mode, and worked just fine if placed in my game. The only issue was that my game wasn’t treating these 16 particular files as the same item as the already-in-use item in my game.

My theory about this takes several things into account: 1. All items on the list are items that can be obtained individually in the Sims3 store, but are also a part of one or more sets. 2. I obtained, downloaded, and used some Sims3 store content well before I acquired all the sets. 3. I assume that Blam went about her conversions very methodically, and either already owned all store sets, or acquired her original files from someone who did. Essentially, I assume that these 16 items were ones I owned, downloaded, and put to use in my game before owning the complete sets these items belong to in the Sims3 store, and that the game somehow tags items differently if they are owned/downloaded individually, or as part of a set.

Of course, I could be entirely wrong and it may have just been the game giving me a hard time about trying to remove/reduce my dependency on the Launcher... In any case, here’s my list of the 16 items I had to re-convert to package files individually before the game would accept them as the same item already in use in my game.

All I did was redownload the individual sims3packs, extract packages, and run them through s3rc. Then I re-installed them in CCMagic, did a rebuild, and after that they all worked fine.

I’m super grateful Blam decided to share all their hard work with us. I’ve been putting off this project for YEARS because of how much time it would take, and thanks to @blamseastore I was able to complete it in a single long weekend over New Years.

I: Nope, but I have the mask’s statue. They made a replica or something for the movie, and I got that.

I: That’s definitely a no-no.

C: Try eating raw manuscript.

I: That’s nice. “Okay. I’m gonna try eating raw manuscript today. Wow, this is freshly made! I’ll eat now!” Then, I put some salt. “Hm, it’s a bit dry.” Something like that. “Okay, so, I’ve tried eating raw manuscript today.”

C: Turn it into Onigiri.

I: That’s nice. It’s a bit complicated. Turn the raw manuscript into an onigiri and eat it. Recording plan for 30,000 commemoration includes trying eating 10 years’ worth of fan letters and raw manuscript. But, it’s definitely rare. I don’t have raw manuscripts since everything is in digital.

C: Have you bought TG’s game.

I: I will. I’m gonna buy it!

I: It seems edible If I put some seasoning on top. That’s nice too.

I: I wanted to create videos that require editing too. I only have Animal Rap to mess around with. I probably mess around more during the stream.

I: It seems like I can play Hitman. Shall I play Hitman? Shall I play Hitman while thinking for the commemorative plan.

I: By the way, I’ve been crazily addicted to Nioh. It’s the kind of game where you die repeatedly. I’ve nothing but this kind of games in my collection.

C: The project hasn’t been decided yet?

I: It’s still under planning for now. It looks like I’m planning to eat the letters now. (t’n: He’s referring to the fact that the plan was on the screen.)

I: Well, I have the data. Goubaru died because of stress at the age of 34 or 35. Those who watched the stream would know.

I: There’s no other assistants here? Whose mangaka are you working under? Surprisingly, people do indeed watch my streams. The one in charge for Fool Night also watched my stream, so there are people who watch them by chance. The Fool Night’s editor won’t watch my stream anymore, since he’s gotten comments from me. I’m just joking.

C: (Proposal for 30,000 subs): Eating 10 years’ worth of fan letters, eating, raw manuscripts, poaching assistants.

I: That’s a good idea. An attempt to poach a certain football manga’s assistant. How much should I pay for you to abandon your sense of duty? I don’t know how many moths or years you’ve been taken care of, but how much should I pay for you to betray the sensei that has hired you during this pandemic? I’m very interested to know.

C: Don’t do something that incites criticism online.

I: I’m gonna keep poaching assistants from various people. I’m aiming to be a mangaka. Let’s create Sushi army corps by attempting to poach 100 assistants. Let’s try to poach assistants from other places with money.

C: I can’t draw, so I want you to hire me for something else.

I: Then, be a meshistant? In the end, I’ll end up hiring meshistant.

Maybe Steamrolling Games is Bad Actually

Videogames are unique in that they are inextricably tied to corporatism and have been since birth (this is an oversimplification but roll with it). This means that to an extent most companies even since the ’80s have never really cared about proper preservation or easy access to their titles. Nintendo carts were originally manufactured to have their battery die in 3 years so you would have to buy a new one (this failed, but it’s why you still see a lot of dead carts floating around). I think there's a nostalgia issue within the gaming fandom regarding "oh x was great back then" but a lot of the time, games manufacturers have been historically shitty and anti-consumer and it’s just that they now have the tools to execute it much more effectively. Regarding obtrusive DRM, that’s an issue PC games have had since their zenith, where if you lost your original copy of a manual or a small plastic key you could never play a game again because the codes were individualized for each copy and support would refuse to give you a new one. Even back in the arcades, there were particularly batshit examples like the CPS board, which I shit you not was built to explode a battery pack filled with corrosive acid if it detected you were attempting to repair or modify it. There’s a lot to say about the current state of games but what I would likely illustrate is that 2/3 major consoles are racing to decide who will be obsolete first. Games consoles are reaching a point where they are trying to emulate PCs with more restrictions and DRM. We're already seeing interest in steam spike again and it’s likely that eventually, we will see almost a crash for consoles where no one can justify the price for games they can play on a PC rig. The only solution I see there would be a merger between the two consoles which feels inevitable. 

That being said as interest in the PC space increases again so does attempts at entering the bubble. We have Epic, Origin, Microsoft, Indiegala, Itchio, and Steam all vying for attention, requiring accounts, and offering exclusives to justify the use of their storefront over others. Some people think this is a good thing because it's breaking up Steam's monopoly but it literally is not, if you ever really wanna hear me rant ask me about Leftist obsession with itch being some sort of ethical steam, which it is provably not. In the end, the real sort of saviour figures that work to preserve games are random ass people on the internet. I know people who automatically assume that at the end of the day, companies care about games preservation too, and they usually have a three-pronged argument that cites a) Steam’s ability to allow the redownloading of delisted games, b) retro companies periodically rereleasing titles for modern consoles in compilations, and c) companies doing limited reruns of a game that fans request. All three of these examples are basically an incredibly effective use of diversionary tactics, but most of the time when someone cites these I just assume it’s a misunderstanding and not outright malicious intent because a lot of the time companies will attempt to actively implant these ideas to build brand loyalty.

My main dissertation is usually that Steam is incredibly selective with what titles you can redownload, and most importantly, corporate benevolence is more-so a band-aid on a gaping wound! There’s no contingency for when Steam might migrate to a new service, go belly up, or become obsolete when a new OS is created. That means thousands, tens of thousands of dollars worth of games are just gone, permanently, along with fan mods, DLC, and content. It’s a terrifying thought that not many people bring up when discussing the problems with game storefronts that focus so much on providing a cloud and have DRM attached to every purchase. In a way, Steam preceded the trend of not allowing consumers to actually own the things they purchased, and they’ve avoided criticism by strategic use of silence and creating the illusion of a company being made by the consumers they’re attempting to serve. At the end of the day, Steam is a business, and if you ever lose access to your Steam account, or they decide to up and leave one day, you will not be able to play almost all of those games, even if you have them installed on a hard drive, because if you’re online, they connect with a server to ensure your steam account has the ability to play them. When it comes to other arguments like the limited rereleases or use of compilations to preserve arcade titles, I usually just beg people to look at community-driven options that have existed for years. The Scott Pilgrim game is a big source of contention, but I would point out that for years now, it was playable, for free, with all the DLC, on PCs. Preservationists didn’t wait for the gods of Universal and O’Malley to rerelease it for 30 bucks or save up to snatch the fucking ridiculous 200$ limited edition with shitty paper cut-outs, they straight up just did the work to make the game free and available. RCPS3 has (with a contemporary build) been able to run the game pretty flawlessly for years now, in fact, it was how I played through a majority of the game in high school on my shitty brick of a laptop. If you look further out than this one example then it gets even better, MAME and other emulation backends have been able to play obscure, unfinished, and homebrew titles with 100% accuracy, on almost any setup, for free, for decades! I found out about many of these options back in 2015 or so, certainly late to the curve, but I never really questioned as to why emulation, games preservation, and some key titles being available on PC remained some sort of arcane, unknown knowledge to most people interested in games. In the end, the answer was a highly effective propaganda campaign that combined with strategic use of DMCA takedowns has resulted in the concept of communal games-preservation and emulation becoming some sort of debate, where people will wholeheartedly side with corporations in some sort of quest for preserving things the “ethical and correct way,” which is code for preservation on the condition that it remains profitable for the IP owners.

 I think the best way to illustrate this would be with the community built around the preservation of an infamous PS4 title, PT. The story of its inevitable delisting from the storefront and the messy breakup between Kojima and Konami is well known, so I won’t regurgitate it, look it up at your own leisure. What is significant here is corporate reactions to attempts at preserving the game, which can basically be boiled down to Konami acting with borderline rabid fervour to prevent redownload, redistribution, or recreation of a seven-year-old demo, released for free download. Mentions of solutions to redownload the game have been taken down, fan-made recreations for PC, and archival servers that store a copy of the game for future preservation or emulation. Usually when this is brought up a debate occurs citing that technically speaking, Konami has a right to do this whenever they want, for whatever piece of media they believe infringes on their copyright. On one hand, yes this argument is factually correct considering the current state of copyright and ownership of media, but on the other hand, what compels someone to step into the ring for a multi-million dollar company with the primary argument being “well actually, people SHOULDN’T be able to play this specific video game until it benefits the shareholders”? In my opinion, it’s some sort of corporatized symbiosis where players believe that, if you cull the bad actors and play by the rules of the company, you may be able to eventually play the game a couple of years down the line. Sure, this has happened in the past with a few isolated cases, but it can’t be stressed enough that this is a genuinely dangerous and reductive position for people to take regarding games preservation.

 I have two colleagues, Mariken and Fotocopiadora, who released a short interactive title called Videopulp (playable here: https://fotocopiadora.itch.io/videopulp). It’s a dramatic reimagining of a real historical event, wherein a promotional event was held in 1994 at Lelystad to destroy bootleg carts by a figure in a Mario costume. This perhaps best encapsulates something I am pleading with younger generations to understand, as an archivist, art historian, and creator: corporations are not your friends, and they never will be. With the rise of online circles of leftism, this concept is starting to gain traction but is starting to be polluted with concepts of fandom and tribalism. This has lead to arguments that while *most* corporations are bad how could you say that about Nintendo? Or Valve? Mario is so innocent and characters like Wheatley are beloved by all! I feel some people don’t realize that they can enjoy a select title or character without enlisting in a corporate faction in the battle for “best company” or “best videogame”. It leads to a parasocial kinship with a nonexistent figure that was hand-crafted to ensure consumer loyalty to a certain brand. It’s depressing, terrifying, and should stand as a disquieting example of how the grip of capitalism on works of art has permanently distorted how we think and engage with media today. So, what’s the solution? As always I can never really provide something concrete that’ll act as a cure-all, only things that people in games need to work towards. Bring up conversations about games preservation, create archives for your own work, support archivists and boost their work whenever a new discovery is created, and try to promote optimism and solidarity in your hobbyist communities. I’ve noticed a lot of futility being intertwined with the future of AAA gaming, use of online storefronts, and the inability to own pieces of media anymore, and I feel this should be pushed back against, even in a minute way. Open-source programmes still exist that allow you to hold on to what you have purchased, offline and ad-free options exist for games launchers, e-readers, and media players. The future isn’t bright, but it is not a place without hope, and as long as people continue to enter communities with passion and ingenuity, I think we have a chance at stopping the events at Lelystad, 1994 from happening again.

it’s been awhile

Hi all! It’s been quite a long time since I’ve been on here (2 years,, whoops.) so I think it’d be quite nice to just.. explain? 

I know this account got attention for the project on dysphoria that I was planning, and I know that there are probably plenty of people who were disappointed at the sudden loss of activity on it. I may still be doing the project. But it will require that I start from the beginning. I have no idea where I saved anything anymore and I very rarely talk to the friend who was helping me organize everything. Besides the point though.

Here’s why I’ve been gone.

When I made this account I was roughly 14 and in the closet as far as anything gender-related (I’ve been out as pansexual since I was 12, which was a whole other journey on it’s own). My parents didn’t know this account existed, that I was going by a different name, anything. This was until my mom broke her phone and she decided to use mine. During this time she went through my phone and deleted tumblr off of my phone multiple times. I, being the stupid child I was and still occassionally am, thought she was only doing it as a means to give her some extra storage for the games she was downloading and playing on my phone. This resulted in the two of deleting and redownloading multiple times for a few days until she snapped at me, which I choose to not go into detail about. She decided I would no longer have a phone for an indefinite period of time. Asides from time at a library for school work, I did not get regular access to social media, resulting in this account being deserted.

 Despite all this, I’m still very here, very trans, and very queer. I’m back baYBE

As of today, this account is off of hiatus or what-will-you. Depending on the response to this post and the interest of people, I may be reopening the project, probably modifying it just a little tho. Potentially I may just turn it into a website that gets shared around social media, rather than a PDF and stuff that gets posted everywhere.. Who knows!
