Usually, I tend to make OCs that unconsciously end up reflecting one aspect of me that meshes with the world, and I can either use them to live vicariously, write them to be a walking metaphor for something I think clicks as a story, or because there’s some aspect of the world I feel needs addressing. I have nothing for LMK, the show is complete as it is that I couldn’t read any fic for the time being that despite being written well, just couldn’t feel satisfying because I wanted to just rewatch the show. (Also the fics are hella long and detailed and my brain did not have the patience atm.) So I stuck to fun one shots. Anyways, went through a variety of design ideas, eventually decided to just give Nezha a puppy and call it a day. No need to try too hard lol. A character not in the story much is less work for me! (They’re based off the Celestial Dog Tiangou/Zodiac. Human name, Tao Lin :) You said you had an OC too right? Wanna talk about them :D

yeah i have an lmk OC 👉👈 her name is Húang Júhua, she’s a grim reaper and is tasked with convincing swk to give up on immortality :)

the only reason she’s given the task is because swk is her unofficial uncle because her mother, the Black Reaper/Impermanence, decided to befriend the feral monkey under the mountain after witnessing his trial and bet with Buddha. so, basically the Diyu is using her as a shield to try and finally put swk and his soul to rest. or at least allow him to reincarnate or something. anything that would mean no more sevenfold immortal monkey they would need to worry about

in a twist of fate, Júhua’s visit to Wukong eclipses with the start of s2, so swk just left for his “vacation” and now Júhua has to introduce herself to her unofficial uncle’s protege. and in a burst of emotion and impulsive decision-making, Júhua offers to substitute for Wukong while he’s gone because she isn’t really sure what to do while she waits (sure, she could follow swk but she doesn’t know where he is or what he’s doing and this monkey is a speedy demon so it was better to just stay put and wait)

i do have a series of her shenanigans with the lmk crew (it was supposed to just be a swk character study bc that’s why i originally made her but…..it’s become its own thing :) i am sensing a pattern here….)

she’s a lot of fun to write! and her interactions with the characters are a fun mix of comedy and seriousness with her playing into the story but also trying to hang back and observe who exactly Wukong’s protege is and why swk chose him. she’s pretty spunky and stubborn but has a worn heart of gold <3
