hi anon!! we just have to let it go. our fanbase is smaller and even if it were around the same size as theirs, we’ve never been ones to whine about everything under the sun. they were happy to shut up about the fact that one of their defenders touched the ball in play with his hands in the cl fixture against bayern, for example, and that the ref ignored it willingly bc he happened to take pity on them. if it had happened the other way around they would’ve been calling for a public execution. pgmol and the refs do not care about anyone who’s not in the title race. they proved that during the nld countless times, and the reaction that the prem has to white undoing vic’s gloves is just pretending it’s shithousing. as bill shankly once said: “they know the rules, they do not know the game.” except at this point i seriously doubt they know the rules either. so what do they even do? there’s nothing else to be done until the league realises that more and more people are turning away from it because of the lack of quality refereeing (bc of their lack of investment in it! refereeing is a tough job i don’t envy the people who do it but they lack resources) and especially VAR when it comes to anyone who is not in the title race/top 4. it’s a farce.
