Life update ~

I know I haven't updated ao3 in a while, and you’re probably wondering, “but… but, Cinny, where are the wips? WHERE ARE THEY? DROP EM PLS! I MUST READ!” 😭

Let me tell you right now, I’m hoarding them 💀 MY EYES ONLY!… j/k... Or am I?

WAIT! WAIT!

Before you consider tossing me out a window… lol, they are coming. I expect to drop all four wips i’ve been working on by the end of August. That's my official deadline to make up my damn mind about my drafts and release them into the wild.

It’s not you guys, it’s literally me 😭 I hate being so indecisive sometimes. I'm my worst writing critic, *facepalm*. But anyway, I digress. I thought I would drop that note first to keep everyone in the loop, lol.

Additionally, I will have much more free time to write FF. My online studies must take a hiatus. It’s hard to juggle home life, studies, and hobbies. This is the biggest RIP ever, but I saw it coming, and well, I do like having free time again and less stress! So, a toast to that, lol.

In addition to all this, I am mourning a little… and don’t laugh, lol.

The teeny fish from a while ago didn't make it. I think the big fish gave it a gulp a couple of days ago, and well… Man if I didn't have the most Xie Lian reaction.

Two days ago, I switched out the fish water and noticed the little one didn't come out. I had told my husband I had severe anxiety because I wouldn't be able to handle its little death and that it was like my 7th child (if I include my kids + pets, lol). I needed to know he was okay, or it would never leave me alone.

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when we realized he wasn't in the tank anymore (more at the karma and irony of what I had told my husband). I sobbed like a mess when there was no tiny fish. My husband probably thought I was insane, laughing and crying. Poor husband. Poor little fish. 😔 I’m still emotional about him.

That’s what I’ve been up to these past couple of weeks. Lots of writing, re-drafting, adulting, back-to-school prepping, mourning, and planning for a birthday party: I’m all over the place! Lol. But I’ve been chipping away at where free time lets me.

Thank you, guys, for being extremely patient. LIKE EXTREMELY patient. I would post more wip snips, but I can't edge you guys more than I previously have, 💀. ITS FOR YOUR OWN GOOD! LOL ( I'm more than happy to provide hints if asked about them though 👀).

He's definitely one of the more cuddly ones, too, so when he hugged her at the expo that moment was so sweet and intimate... physical touch must be one of his love languages. I think the longer time wears on, he'll let go of more of that frostiness and become more comfortable showing Y/N his tender side. fjdksa I forgot about the scene where he offered her a cigarette at Hoseok's meet-- such a twerp!! I love love love scary movies, and I feel like him maybe Yoongi are the only two that would actually wanna watch a horror film with me IRL, or Y/N in Trouvaille. Hoseok is a bit of a scaredy cat, and the rest of them put that off a little bit as well LOL. And for sure, there really isn't anything that can be hidden in that house anymore, there are ears literally everywhere.... bad news for someone who likes to talk shit, like me. But that's an example of Jeongguk being uncharacteristically sweet, agreeing to help Y/N even if he doesn't have to. As we all know, Oliver is a teddy bear, so he would do anything to make you happy is existence is already enough i cant😭 Among all the things he does, he loves singing for you: he would do it when you are sad, to make you fall asleep, even randomly. He would always sing love songs and he would also change the lyrics a little bit to make them specifically for you IM CRYING

Darren fought so hard to get a partner 💀 that now he doesn't want to ruin anything (you are basically stuck with him LMAO HELP-🤡🤡). He knows too damn well you love the food he cooks, so he would cook for you almost every day give me a Darren pls. He'd cook for special occasions (such as birthday, mensiversary, graduation or/and meeting your parents) or even randomly, you know, just because he loves you so much. Speaking of parents, after eating Darren's food they'd probably tell you to marry him asap😭😭😭 no but fr they'd be speechless who wouldn't bruh

As we could see, Seb is tall asf, so if you are shorter than him he would help you by taking things that are on high furniture. He finds it so cute when he sees you struggle while trying to reach the damn thing but failing miserably😭 But this doesn't stop him from making fun of you🤡 in fact you'll find out that most of the time, Sebastian puts the things you need higher just to see his pretty s/o trying to reach it without his help. Sometimes he would also pick you up and let you take it, then he'd let you sit on the kitchen counter and tell you how much he loves you and how cute you are in a jokingly but significant and caring way.

ʚ 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲 ɞ 

You and Regie would do late car rides almost every single night. I guess he would do this if you are studying/working too much and you are stressing yourself: he would take you to McDonald's and buy you a milkshake, then keep driving around while listening to the playlist he made for this occasions. The lights of the city lighting up your face, the wind meeting your eyes as you close them, the music hugging you and making you feel like there's only you and Regie, and last but not least, your boyfriend driving silently and looking at you sometimes to check if you are sleeping and doing good I FUCKING WANT THIS RIGHT NOW

Kane is a cutie pie, no wonder he would do something cute for you, for example, he would buy matching things for the two of you. Whenever you two hang out he wants to buy something for you sobbing rn. He already bought matching bracelets, matching hoodies and t-shirts, and necklaces. He would also buy them as a surprise/gift for you!! He'd go to you and be like "Babe I have a thing for you" while smiling as he always does im melting istg. He is the cutest.

Most people think Ryan isn't a big fan of skinship and hates it, but honestly he likes it a lot, especially kisses. In my opinion, he would kiss you, or at least try to, everywhere. His favorite places to kiss are probably your lips and your hands I WANT THIS MAN RIGHT NOW UFF He would kiss your hands when you are in public or around the members so they don't feel uncomfortable (bad that you two don't know they simp for you everytime and that they love you as a couple rip), while kisses on the lips mostly in private. You'd try to sing as better as possible, but ending up doing voices and acting like you are having a whole concert in front a huge crowd. “They couldn’t let me take just one day off…?”

You groaned, dragging your feet along the tile flooring. You had been working ALL DAY. Unfortunately for you, a lot of your coworkers were out sick and your boss was a monster, forcing you to take up their spots despite knowing today was a special day.

The special day in question was your birthday, something you both looked forward too and loathed at the same time. You weren’t one for gigantic parties, nor were you fond of all the attention you got. Well..maybe sometimes you enjoyed feeling special.

You woke up feeling strangely excited this morning, getting ready and rushing to work with a smile…only for it to be quickly ripped away by yelling, impatient visitors and an awful boss.

You wanted today to be at least a little special, planning on grabbing a cupcake from the kitchen and heading up to spend some time with your partners. That all seemed like a distant dream as of right now though as you stood with an awkward smile, trying not to cry as you were yelled at by an angry mother and her spoiled kid.

As soon as she was done with her rant, she huffed and stormed away with her child leaving you standing there with a sigh as you heard the overhead speakers announce it was closing time. Finally, the day was over.

That was when it hit you. The day was over. It was late at night, nothing was open. You had wasted the whole day working and being told off that you had forgotten about going out to celebrate. What could you do now? Everything was closed, and you were pretty sure the boss wanted you to be on night guard duty as well.

Tears filled your eyes, bringing that unpleasant sting to them and warping your vision.

“How pathetic are you? Crying like a baby. Your an adult now, birthdays aren’t meant to be special, how selfish can you be.” You thought, vigorously wiping your tears and blinking the rest away.

Was it to bad to ask for one day for yourself? You could spend it alone, you didn’t have to make it anyone else’s problem.

Climbing up the stairs you sighed, trying to calm your breathing before you entered the daycare. You didn’t want them to see you like this, feeling slightly embarrassed about your current state. Of course you knew they would never judge you, but you just didn’t want them to worry.

Taking a few deep breaths, you slowly opened the door and stepped inside, noting the lights were still on so that probably meant sunny was the one currently out and about.

“Sunny…? Are you there?” You called, walking into the room and closing the door behind you. As you walked along the carpeted floor, you began to notice a couple things. There was steamers and confetti absolutely everywhere, long colorful decorations on the walls.

You thought that maybe it was just a new look for the daycare, sunny did say he loved to rearrange and decorate once in a while. So it made sense until you walked into the main clearing where all the slides were, looking up and to the right to see sunny hanging from the little balcony of his castle as he attempted to hang up another banner.

This one wasn’t like the others, it was off white and clearly painted in Sunny’s adorable handwriting was “HAPPY BIRTHDAY [READER] I LUV YOU :D” on it.

Your heart completely melted as you noticed how much he struggled to get it just right, revealing all the little handprints on it explaining why every child walked out of the building with painted hands, also explaining why they all giggled when they passed you.

Soon enough he noticed you standing there and immediately lit up. “O-oh! Hi [Reader]! Y-you weren’t supposed to see this yet! I’ve been- AH-!“ he said, letting out a squeal as he accidentally slipped and fell right into the ball-pit.

You snorted as you watched him scramble out of the sea of plastic balls and make his way onto the floor next to it, taking a second to reorient himself before he immediately stood up and practically sprinted to you.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU!!!” he shouted, bouncing back and forth on his feet excitedly before he threw his arms around you.

“It was really hard trying to keep myself from telling you everything! I-I was so excited I wanted you to come see the party from the moment we started planning it a week ago!” He said, squeezing you tightly but also making sure to be gentle with you, letting you watch on as he literally vibrated with excitement.

Once again you felt yourself being brought to tears, but this time it was for a completely different reason. Him and moon had spent a week of their time planning something for you? That felt incredibly amazing and heartwarming to know. They didn’t have to, but they did…that meant the world to you.

“Ah…[Reader]..? Whats…o-oh no! Don’t cry! I’m sorry! I didn’t hurt you did I?!” He said, pulling away and instead gently holding you by your shoulders as he looked into your eyes, noting the small sea that was forming in them.

“N-no no! It’s not that!” You said, laughing as you felt wet lines travel down your face. “I-it’s just.. I’ve never felt so happy before..” you smiled, taking a moment to wipe your face, still letting out small laughs while doing so.

“S-so…you like it…?” Sunny whispered, head facing the ground as he nervously fiddled with his fingers. You could tell he was nervous, hoping he didn’t upset you.

“I love it…” you beamed, smiling up at him as you used your hand to lift his face, letting his eyes meet yours. “Thank you…both of you…really…this is amazing…” you said, stepping forward and hugging him close.

He immediately hugged you back, gently pressing his forehead against yours, a loving and affectionate gesture. “I-I’m glad…o-oh! I forgot! We made you a cake! But moon said he wanted to give it to you so…j-just give me a minute!”

Watching as he quickly rushed off towards the lights, you couldn’t help the smile that made its way onto your face. You loved them both so much, and it was clear they loved you in return.

Soon everything went dark, the room only illuminated by the computer screens at the front desk and something flickering just beyond your line of sight. A couple bells alerted you that the sun had gone down and the moon was rising, or at least that’s how you liked to think of it.

“Hey…you.” He said, voice sounding rough and scratchy, but you didn’t mind. The first time you met him, he had scared you, chasing you all around the daycare as you ran for your life. This time, you willingly walked over to him…no longer afraid.

“I heard it was your birthday…or whatever…so I had that idiot help me make a cake. It’s not the best but it’ll work, at least it’s edible I guess..”

You couldn’t help but smile at how shy he was. You would think that he would be scary and controlling, but he was actually the opposite. He was kind in his own way, and he was always supportive of whatever you did.

“Thank you moon…you really didn’t have to do all this, but I really appreciate it…” you said, smiling sweetly at him.

“Don’t say that. I wanted to do it. You’re so special to me…to him.. We both love you…even if I don’t say it much..” he said, looking away as he stepped towards you with a cake in his hands, sparklers on it sending sparks everywhere.

The cake was relatively big with white and blue frosting, some poorly but adorably made fondant figures of you, moon, and sun standing next to the sparklers while a couple words were written out in red gel.

You could no longer hold in the quiet, happy sob hiding behind your lips as fresh tears of joy slid down your face, reading those seven words that were so carefully drawn onto the white frosting.

“Happy birthday my love! We love you!”
