theres also a point in the movie where he gets arrested and beat up in jail and he is so depressed he loses the ability to stop time and then later his girlfriend convinces him to try again to stop time for her and he does it and theres this big music swell its handled like a big arc was just overcome. the problem is that there is no story between these scenes theyre only separated by like 5 minutes of unrelated scenes about other characters.

#also he gets shot in the head in such a sudden scene that it made me laugh out loud in the theatre i felt bad #but again they just send him off to a medic and 1.5 scenes later hes almost fine and then next time we see him hes like. fine.#it didnt really matter for more than 10 minutes of run time that the main character got shot in the head #and then for 90% of the last act hes just. not on screen even once. and then suddenly his goal for the movie is just fully realized #and he won. entirely off screen. while we were watching a bunch of political intrigue that didnt matter at all to his story.#its so weird. hes like. a strange barely-related interloper in the story despite being the main character.#avpost #movie diary #so go back to the clerrrb
