if you need any affirmation that Carl Stalling is a musical and comedic genius, it took me NOW. JUST NOW. JUST TODAY. having seen this cartoon DOZENS OF TIMES over a period of years. to realize that he injects a musical sting of “All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth” when Daffy threatens to knock out Porky’s teeth. absolutely beautiful

#i keep forgetting this cartoon exists and then every time i rewatch it i remember that it is unparalleled cartoon genius #some of my favorite Maltese lines ever in this short #‘listen mac you’ve got 32 teeth. wouldja like ta try for 16?’ is very Maltesian #it’s funny how more modern LT revivals have tried to base Porky and Daffy’s relationship off this short and completely missed what makes it #so funny and vindictive (that Porky completely delivers Daffy a dose of his own medicine and pulls no punches)#and when i say it’s funny i mean (breaks down sobbing)#lt #the ducksters #jones #vid
