#i used to love creative writing but i haven't done any since middle school or maybe early high school#so despite writing probably around 750k words in the last 10 years theyre all academic (im not counting words on tumblr)#so now that im trying to sit down and write for fun again for the first time...#everything i write just sounds stiff and pedantic and i keep fighting the urge to add citations for the research I've done#i have a clear idea for a short story. i have a clear plan for its progression and arc#it just sounds so so so much like the background section of a thesis. and im only like 500 words in.
