Giopara only found out about Viktor's terminal illness years after the latter became the Machine Herald-and he didn't even learn about it from Viktor. He only found out when Blitzcrank, who thought he already knew, mentioned it offhandedly.

It was not a pleasant revelation for the Defender of Tomorrow to stomach. (Just in general, the knowledge that his partner had lied to him and hidden the fact that he was dying from him would be a hard thing for anyone to process-even more so with Jayce and Viktor's history.))

FUCKED UP i love it. cause like fuck dude imagine ex former lab partner for like a decade because of him trying remove people's emotions and augmented people and you find out that around the time you got him kicked out of the academy and ruined his career he was dying and didn't tell you. and like you knew he had a lot of pride and sure you weren't that close but you thought you were at least close enough to tell you that, at least. you considered him a friend, and you thought that he had too. but depending on when he found out he was sick it might have been after you refused to testify on his behalf. but you dont even know if that was the reason because if he didn't tell you then he sure as shit isn't gonna tell you now.

and then it occurs to you that his original motivations for augmenting himself wasn't this crazy evolution shit he's always on about now, but instead might've born out of a desire to simply not die. and that maybe the reason he's doing it to other people isn't entirely because he is genuinely trying to help people. and good god man you might have been calling him a monster over the thing that saved his life and you never knew. you never would've known if you hadn't learned it second hand years after the fact. maybe you would've done something different? said something different? fuck, why didn't he tell you?
